“Welcomed on arrival. Reservations needed. Beautiful trendy deco. Upbeat happy friendly atmosphere. Staff very attentive, service was impeccable. Food was absolutely delicious, and red hot on arrival!!!!! Had a lovely evening there and will most definitely be going back there.”

“I visited the Packet on a Monday afternoon. It made a nice change from all the (Mostly) big name places to eat in the Bay. A 160 year old traditional pub with a good selection of drinks, friendly chatty staff, and a small outside garden, only a few minutes walk from the main bay area. If you are looking for a traditional drinking pub in the bay area, away from the hustle and bustle of the big restaurants in the bay, I would strongly recommend this Pub.”

“I had a really enjoyable meal here last Tuesday evening. We were sat upstairs and the decor is fairly low key. It’s not fancy but it doesn’t need to be. On the way in I noticed some bar tapas so when the menu came we started by ordering one of each of all of the meat ones and a vege one. They were delicious and well presented. We coupled this with some beer and wine. John, our waiter, was super friendly, helpful and knowledgable about the food and wine. Made us feel really welcome and was on hand through the meal when we wanted more. We then ordered a round of hot and cold tapas. The standouts were the chorizo which was sooo soft. The mushrooms were also immense. Loved them. Wanted more! All the dishes were great. The calamari’s was a little dry and maybe needed a dip with it but it was a small footnote. Really enjoyed the meal and would 100% go back again.”

“Had a fantastic lunch at Miller & Carter. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. The staff were attentive. The lunch menu had a great selection and everything was cooked perfectly – fresh, flavourful, and beautifully presented. The steak was especially tender and full of flavour, and the sides complemented it perfectly. A lovely experience overall, and I’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a quality meal in the city centre.”

“Venue, food and staff are wonderful! Held a baby shower in the party room upstairs and was the perfect venue. We had the entire upstairs to ourselves with room to decorate, machine to play music, fridge to store food and drinks and terrace outside. We had a hot buffet with skewers for food and everyone complimented how amazing the food was. The staff were super attentive regularly checking we had everything we needed. Thanks so much for all of your help Agit!”

“We didn't have food, but the drinks were very nice. Small French cafe feel but very busy. Dog friendly and casual. Decor was lovely and gave pleasant ambience with warm lighting. More frequent toilet checks would be good as the unisex loos were well used by some patrons who were 'directionally challenged'. All in all a really nice stop for a pint with cute dogs to look at.”

“Absolutely excellent, friendly service. Lovely setting in the heart of Cardiff. An easy place to find that serves Welsh food. Never having had Welsh rarebit before, I was eager to try it but I have nothing to compare it to so perhaps that is what it was supposed to taste like. The cheddar was not in any way sharp so perhaps the other ingredients overwhelmed the taste (?). It was effectively toast with a slightly cheesy taste with very little flavor. Bland would the word. The croquets had the right texture. Crispy on the outside, creamy in the middle. But again, it felt under seasoned - although maybe that is what it is supposed to taste like? All in all, worth a visit but if Welsh food is supposed to be bland, then it is certainly that.”

He was incredibly attentive and knowledgeable about the menu, offering excellent recommendations without being intrusive. Our glasses were always full, and he even catered to specific requests with a smile. Anmol's friendly demeanor and professionalism truly made our dining experience memorable. “Thank you so much to Marcus and his team for the wonderful, caring service they delivered at the wake for our Dear Dad on Wednesday. Everyone commented on how lovely the room was. We appreciated the use of the easel for our display of photos and the table for Dad's regimental flag, poppies and donation box. The food was of a very high standard.... lovely chips, fresh sandwiches any yummy desserts - especially the tiramisu. Thank you to you all! We are very grateful!”

“Wow. What a fantastic pub. New to Cardiff and stumbled upon this little gem for Sunday lunch. Ate at the bar rather than in the dining room as I had my dog with me, but ate off the same menu. And what a menu. In a world where food for a lot of pubs is heated in a microwave, you should be more like this pub instead. Fantastic and huge sunday roast with lots of trimmings. The football was on the big screen in the bar, but that didn't detract from the atmosphere. And the lady who served us at the bar was friendly. funny and helpful. My only gripe is I can only give this place 5 stars!”

“Stopped by here on a day out in Cardiff in the afternoon. The prices were very reasonable considering it’s in the heart of the city centre and there’s a good selection of food to choose from. Onto the food, very tasty and served hot. Also there wasn’t much of a wait at all - it was quite busy but the staff seemed to be very efficient. On top of this efficiency was great service. A blonde lady served us food and drinks and she was very warm and friendly. Will definitely come back here next time I’m in Cardiff.”

“Our table was booked for 7.30pm. We early and allowed to sit at our table. We also to order early too. Food was served within 15 minutes. Well presented and very tasty. Staff were very friendly and efficient. Lovely night night for my 60th birthday with my husband. Thank you”

“Went here for "Chicken Tuesday" recently and had a lovely meal. Fresh hot food and attentive staff. Worth saying they had the worlds most awkward table of customers near to us and handled the situation very well considering how rude and obnoxious the couples son was. It's a shame there's not a better cider selection or anything on tap but no complaints apart from that. Will definitely visit again ☺️”

“Our first experience of dining here ( Sunday lunch) although we have been here to drink and watch the rugby. Our meal was delicious, we couldn't fault it. Beautifully presented and extremely tasty, a cut above most pub Sunday dinners. Infact, best one we've ever had, and we've had a few. The staff were lovely, friendly and full of spark, nothing was too much trouble. We love this place; it's so 'normal' and relaxing and the clientele friendly, chatty and welcoming. We'll be back!!
