“Fantastic food and atmosphere for our wedding anniversary dinner. Nothing was too much trouble, my wife is gluten free and they were able to do her a gluten free base pizza. Definitely order the olives as well! Loved the fact that this was a family run restaurant and you can really see the effort put in especially into the food. Thank you for an authentic Italian food experience!”

“Have just returned from eating dinner at Eastern Spice. The food was absolutely beautiful, staff very attentive and I think it was v reasonably priced, £26 for poppadom/ pickle tray, pint of larger and a mixed Korai (chicken, lamb, king prawn, kebab) amd pilau rice. Can't recommend highly enough!”

“Been there a few times now and never been disappointed. Exquisite food that makes your tastebuds dance with joy and saliva glands flow like Niagara Falls. Personally for me it’s the Lamb Shank dish, spicy but amazing. There’s an excellent verity of dishes to choose from which are beautifully presented. The service is always accompanied with a smile. The dining area is well lit, clean with refreshing white tableware, a cabin style seating area is also available. The price is reasonable. We visited on a Thursday at 6pm, come 8pm it was full. I would suggest booking a book a table. I highly recommend without any hesitation.”

“Four of us went for breakfast, arriving at around 0930hrs. It was busier than we expected, but we got a table next to the cakes, which looked lovely. Our orders were a vegetarian breakfast, Avocat des Oeufs and two Derbyshire Oat Cakes. The two who ordered the Oat Cakes wanted scrambled eggs and mushroom, which wasn't on the menu, but this wasn't an issue at all, they were happy to do it (a sign that they are actually making the food freshly, not just opening packets, methinks). One of our party accidentally put chocolate powder on their poached egg, thinking it was pepper. This was replaced by a fresh egg with no hesitation by the staff, they even removed the egg and muffin from the plate, brought the unaffected egg/muffin back so it could be eaten at the same time as the rest of us, and then arrived with the replacement egg when it was ready. This is the sort of service you want everywhere, Even though they were really busy, every table was occupied, nothing seemed to be too much trouble. The food was really good too, and not expensive. Four breakfasts, four hot drinks, £40 (just under!) Definitely recommend, definitely going again next time we're in the area. Six or seven stars.....”

“Stayed her one night, also had dinner and breakfast Accommodation was first rate starting with a warm greeting. The room was well appointed, clean and quiet. Would definitely stay here again. The dinner was top notch gastropub with great service and food. The bar well stocked with great wines and real ales. Breakfast was amazing and well beyond the normal fry. Would definitely eat here again.”

“I am absolutely over the moon with my new kitchen. It is everything I wanted and more. Tim listened to my wants and needs and came up with my perfect kitchen. Neil and Aaron, the carpenters/fitters, did the most amazing job paying so much time to the little details which makes my kitchen so sleek and perfect. I have so many little extras like my cutlery trays and knife trays and pull out larder and non-stick drawer liners and lighting in certain cupboards are just a few to mention. And my pantry is to die for! Tim provided a complete job which included new lighting, plastering, electricians, plumbers. We didn’t have to organize anyone, Tim and Neil did the lot. Absolutely amazing, everything went like clockwork. All deliveries happened when they should and so much care was taken throughout to my home. Every time I walk into my new kitchen I can’t believe it’s mine, it looks like something from a high class magazine. I am so happy, thank you so much to the Creative Team.”

“Delicious Thai food at Tom Yum Thai Kitchen. We ordered the set menu so shared a platter with five starters including spring rolls and gyoza, everything was really tasty. The mains were chicken in oyster sauce, beef massaman curry and a duck dish. Everything was well presented and tasted so good. We were staying locally for the weekend and specifically drove to Belper to find this place after hearing good things! It was very busy for a Sunday, I imagine with it being a bank holiday weekend, so the staff were rushed off their feet, but were still brilliant. Just a note about the toilets which are up some stairs and down a corridor; the restaurant is located in a converted mill.”

“Friend took me here last night on a Xmas trip up to Swad for an impromptu curry night and have to say was one of the best I’ve had in a long time. The red onion pickle tray pot is a delight and my garlic chilli chicken was delicious. Meat was cooked perfectly and very well spiced. Would deffo eat there regular if lived nearby.”

A very warm welcome from the moment we arrived and although it was very busy the service was friendly & efficient throughout the evening, nothing is too much trouble. “Perfect! My first time ordering from Billy buns and will definitely be ordering again. My partner and I are picky eaters and we thoroughly enjoyed everything! We had the chicken tower burger meal, the jerk chicken burger meal and the beefed up burger. WOW, AMAZING portion sizes and proper thick cut chips cooked perfectly. A bit too much sauce for my personal preference, but if you like sauce then you're in for a treat! Good filling meal. Delivery was also fast and friendly.”

“We actually got a take away so I can't comment too much about the atmosphere, however a dainty, small Italian joint is exactly where I imagine i'd be if I was somewhere in Italy. The food was fantastic, I've known the restaurant was there for 5+ years during my time at Derby Uni and last night was the first time I had ever set foot. We ordered a starter, two pastas and a pizza and I'm impressed. Will definitely be back!”

“Came here for the first time tonight after the refurb, Finn is an asset to the team, he went above and beyond. Great at delegating professionally to make things run as effectively as possible! Only thing I would say is that the chips could be made more crispier as they were on the dryer side. I do hope Finn gets the recognition he deserves for providing excellent customer service.”

“Diner and staff canteen to Sudbury Open Prison. Hot food menu changes daily and meals are well cooked without being fancy and value for money is excellent at £6 for a main course. There's also an extensive menu for sandwiches, panini, and baked potatoes. Diner is light and airy with good space around the tables. Those waiting on are really friendly and pleasant. Downside is limited opening hours 11:00 to13:00 Monday to Friday.”
