“Absolutely fantastic place. It’s huge and has a fantastic array of cars to look at. You get given a handheld tablet aswell which gives you a tour round the place and options to get the history behind individual cars which is fascinating. Highly recommend anyone to visit here.”
“Going to Lori g has been the best bridal experience I've had! Sandra, Lorraine and Kayleigh are all just so lovely, professional, interested and helpful! They help you sift out what you don't want whilst not pressuring you in anyway to choose a dress on the day, there and then! They have such a unique mix of dresses for ladies with varying styles! And they are so supportive and amazing in helping you find your dress! I recommend Lori G if you want the boutique bridal experience every girls after! Thanks Ladies x”
“Absolute gem- was not expecting to see paintings and sculptures by Moore, Degas, Toulouse- Letrec, Rosalli, Monet, Van Gogh.. all without crowds and high entrance fees for exhibits! Well worth a visit and supporting through easy to use contactless donation points. Beautiful art deco building makes this, along with Winterbourne around the corner a joint favourite place to visit in Birmingham. Could do with a dedicated cafe and seating around to pull in the punters and agree with suggestions about poor lighting and tilt on some paintings but overall a wonderful local asset! Interesting scent exhibition at present too”
“We had a private event and the team were fabulous from start to finish. Nothing was too much trouble. Everyone commented how amazing both the venue and staff are. Thank you everyone!”
“Team Edwards Photography. One of the very best wedding venues for miles around. Laid out really well to guide guests through different levels as the day progresses. Creates a really good experience for everyone. Full of original quirky features so provides something really different to the more traditional wedding venues. Capturing wedding photographs at West Mill is always a pleasure and the results are always epic. Give me a shout if you want an unbiased opinion/recommendation of the venue. A definite 5 stars. “Our game master was Charlotte, she was lovely, we had issue with a few of our team being late, and she offered us a different time slot so they wouldn’t miss the game, was very thoughtful. We did The Signal, was one of the best escape rooms we’ve ever seen done, you get to decide how your game ends. Would highly recommend! We’ll definitely be back for more rooms to escape! Thank you Charlotte for making our experience great!”
“Came today with my partner and our 2 daughters (8+10) we did the scary fairy tale and omg! It was amazing! The staff are next level, the puzzles are awesome, the waiting room is full of incredible games and puzzles to get you in the mood! They also offer a locker for any bags for your phones/bags etc! Amazing place and we'll definitely be back! Can't wait!”
“Book a table! We visited on the strength of other reviews and it was excellent. No pizzas on the menu (unless we missed them), which pushed the kids to try some of the pasta-dishes, which did not disappoint. Finished off with some proper gelato (can recommend the coffee flavour).”
“Wonderful little community centre, good access for wheelchairs and push chairs, has private rooms and being a community centre it is available for hire at very competitive rates. They run after school classes during the week, for Islamic studies.”
“Extremely helpful. Extremely reasonable. Extremely knowledgeable. Thank you very much.”
“I recently visited this charming venue in Barton-under-Needwood and had an unforgettable evening. The cinema offered a cozy and intimate setting to watch a movie, enhancing the overall experience. After the film, I indulged in a delightful meal at their café bar. The steak was perfectly cooked, tender, and flavorful, while the fish and chips were crispy and fresh, a true classic done right. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with excellent service that made the visit even more special. It’s a place I would highly recommend for anyone looking to combine great food with a relaxing cinematic experience. Whether for a casual night out or a special occasion, The Red Carpet Cinema & Café Bar is a hidden gem worth visiting.”
“Beautiful place. And the cafe was lovely too. The staff were really nice and pleasant. Very nice place to have lunch. Highly recommend lakeside Bistro.”
“Our wedding at Confessions was perfect for us. Hannah and her staff are amazing before during and after. Beautiful historic venue with character and charm. Their was nothing to much trouble from booking to after my wedding day. It was perfect. Thankyou to the Hannah and the confessions team for making our day perfect. Highly recommended if ya want a perferct wedding day”
“Lovely opportunity to meet feed and fuss animals. Absolutely loads of toys for the children to play on. Would 100% recommend visiting. The tea rooms food was lovely. All the facilities are spotless.”
“What a great place! The house was finished in 1765 which was intended for grand entertaining and used to display superb paintings, sculptures and furniture. Kedleston celebrates one 18th century landowners fascination with classical Rome and this can be seen and witnessed throughout the entire house”
“Stayed her one night, also had dinner and breakfast Accommodation was first rate starting with a warm greeting. The room was well appointed, clean and quiet. Would definitely stay here again. The dinner was top notch gastropub with great service and food. The bar well stocked with great wines and real ales. Breakfast was amazing and well beyond the normal fry. Would definitely eat here again.”
“Perfect! My first time ordering from Billy buns and will definitely be ordering again. My partner and I are picky eaters and we thoroughly enjoyed everything! We had the chicken tower burger meal, the jerk chicken burger meal and the beefed up burger. WOW, AMAZING portion sizes and proper thick cut chips cooked perfectly. A bit too much sauce for my personal preference, but if you like sauce then you're in for a treat! Good filling meal. Delivery was also fast and friendly.”
“Attended for a Wedding. Super layout. Staff so friendly. Meal was excellent.”
“Took my 3 year old and 1 year old. Very impressed, both kids were entertained the entire time, good value for money compared to soft plays with similar slots. Didn't sample the food so can't comment on that but the menu definitely catered to kids. Coffee was lovely. Didn't expect to be able to park right outside so that was a plus too.”
“This venue is superb. My wife arranged a surprise party for me and the owner and staff could not have been any better in helping her arrange this. Highly recommend this venue for all your occasion. Food was amazing and the staff on the night were great.”
“We had been shopping around for a while but couldn’t quite find what we wanted, visited Silly Sid’s and not only found a bed that we both liked but the price was great too. Everything was explained well throughout and the delivery was very quick and easy. The bed is great quality, looks fab and was very simple to put together. I would highly recommend shopping here.”
“I highly recommend this place for families with young children! It’s amazing how much fun you can have inside a historic house. Each room had toys and displays that caught my three-year-old twin boys’ attention, and they spent the whole day there! It was raining, so they could play indoors as much as they wanted, which was perfect. It’s even better that National Trust members can visit for free. There are still places we haven’t seen yet, so I’d love to come back someday.”
“The Flowerpot is one of Derby’s gems. Fantastic live music in an intimate setting, with great sound and atmosphere every single night. The staff are genuinely friendly and welcoming, and the service is always quick despite how busy it gets. A brilliant range of beers on tap, plus good value for money. The crowd is lively but respectful, creating a great vibe whether you’re here for a gig or just a pint. Consistently an excellent night out – easily one of the best venues in Derby. I really hope they’ll consider creating more opportunities for private functions here as I can think of no better place to host a special occasion.”
“There is a LONG drive to the entrance. Be sure that your GPS takes you to the correct one. Calke Abbey is maintained a bit differently from other National Trust Properties. The Trust chose not to try to bring it back to its original glory, but rather, to leave it in the condition in which it was received, which includes wings of rooms in disrepair. Tour is self guided but volunteers are frequent to offer explanations or answer questions. One of the unique holdings is a state bed made for King George I in 1715. The bed linens were found by the Trust rolled up in the basement. Since they were in perfect condition, the bed is set up as it would have been and preserved behind glass. Another was the caricature room whose walls were covered with humor satirical pictures. I found it to be quite entertaining. The dining room featured some outstanding decor, simply presented. The main entertaining room was filled with glass cabinets loaded with taxidermy. Not my favorite but that is how the family had left it to the Trust. One particular wing has rooms that are in complete disrepair with the ceilings falling, wall paper peeling, and loads of broken furniture haphazardly tossed in the room. Not at all what one would expect while walking through a National Trust Site. Calke Abbey is perfect example of a country estate that was barely held together in the 20th century. Many similar country houses did not survive to tell their story. We are National Trust members (via Royal Oak), so I cannot attest to the cost of entry. Parking lot was within easy walk of the entrance. No reservations were needed.”
“Great cosy traditional pub and restaurant. Food was beautiful with good table service. Must recommend the dessert lemon cheesecake, raspberry sorbet with scattered fresh raspberries. Divine”
“On arrival to the Jennings rooms we were greeted by staff and shown to our table that we had literally booked 10 minutes prior to our arrival. The restaurant was pretty full and busy. The food smelled absolutely amazing. We had ordered the beef Sunday lunch and a pudding. The food and service was amazing. We will definitely be back soon. S&P”
“Good, polite service and delicious food. Tablecloths on the tables were clean as was everything else. The salmon starter was quite a small portion, but the mains were big portions to balance it out. The veg that came with the Sunday lunches was all delicious. Would highly recommend the restaurant.”
“Absolutely had a blast with the Sam’s Saloon. It was challenging but also fun! Rachel was such a great game master and a lot of fun to talk to I can’t wait to come back and try new ones!”
“Went to the cinema yesterday to watch wicked on leaving was greated by a lovely staff member Evie asked if we enjoyed the film and did we want to have our photo taken. Lovely young lady.”
“Great fun. Great for birthday or a fun hour out. Kid's loved it, so did the adults.”
