βAbsolutely lovely. Excellent people and excellent food! I had the mutton curry and then the chocolate sponge - both were actually fantastic. Would come here every day if I could!!β
βAs a New Yorker with high pizza standards (and a serious slice craving), Franco Manca in Stockbridge absolutely delivered. The pizza was deliciousβperfectly balanced, flavorful, and honestly lacking nothing. The crust had that ideal chew, the ingredients were fresh, and every bite felt intentional. Service was excellent as well: friendly, efficient, and welcoming without being overbearing. This has officially become my go-to pizza spot whenever Iβm visiting Edinburgh. If youβre looking for a slice that passes the New York test, this is it.β
βSharon at the front door and Beth at the till both very friendly and welcoming. I really loved the atmosphere and the greeting arriving here after a long day from shopping. We changed places about 3 different times and it wasn't a problem at all. The 1st question I was asked if I had any allergies from both staff. We asked a few questions and was able to give a detailed answer followed by the code to follow onto the phone. I am still waiting to eatβ
βOrdered from them tonight and unfortunately had some items missing. However we just gave them a call and a very nice delivery driver came back with our food plus chocolate cake! It was a simple gesture but much appreciated. The rest of the food was very tasty and I really enjoyed the pizza in particular.β
βManager excellent doing great job michealβ
βSushi was fresh and tasty with quick serviceβ
βWhen I went i got given a pretty acceptable but not fantastic flat white. The staff were friendly. To my suprise the chef came out the front and began blowing up a very thick ballon, it began to consume the whole room! I got pushed against the wall by the force of the inflation what a breath this fella had. I thank god every third and a half day that I finshed my coffee before this supernatural event. Extremely unique experience would ask staff if it is ballon day before going if elderly or sickβ
βDelicious! The food was excellent, and the staff are really nice. Great portions too. We will definitely be back!β
βWe truly enjoyed our dinner at The Society! Our server, Bee, was absolutely wonderful as she is warm, professional, and attentive. She made us feel so welcome and even took the time to ask about my food allergies, which allowed us to fully relax and enjoy our evening. Everything we ordered was exceptional: the beer was refreshing, the Margherita Pizza was marvelous, the Steak with Chimichurri sauce was perfectly cooked and packed with flavor, and the Miso Aubergine was tender and rich. We ended the meal with the Toffee Pudding and it was absolutely delicious! Every dish was a highlight, and the service made it all the more memorable. Hands down, the best dinner weβve had in Edinburgh. Highly recommend!β
βA truly amazing experience. Every bite is a medley of flavours, and the service is attentive and informative. Every dish had a backstory that conjured pictures of their places of origin. The chef even came out to deliver one of the courses, clearly delighted in seeing customers' reactions to his inventive creations. We had the taster menu, and there was plenty of variety for both of us. (The staff was more than happy to make vegan substitutions for my wife.) Can't think of a single complaint; already looking forward to our next visit!β
βI do love finding little gems like these. Great Cafe with a very generous portion size and fantastic coffee. I also had a lovely Victoria sponge from there, no photo as I devoured it far to quickly. If you're in the area and looking to treat yourself to a nice lunch I would definitely advise going here.β
βAs a Greek that lives abroad I was extremely impressed with the variety of products this place has. I am not talking only for the good that they bake but you can find literally anything from Greece. I was just amazed. We got breakfast from there and of course a freddo espresso was a must to accompany our pastries. Everything was very tasty! I highly recommend you to visit this place and try all the Greek goods they have!β
βIf you are lucky enough to catch the Little Green Van out on a nice day, I highly recommend you give it a try. The coffee is amazing. I got wild and ordered the Affogato (2 scoops of vanilla ice cream with two shots of espresso poured over top) it was HEAVEN IN A CUP. If youβre looking for a delicious coffee and a tasty treat, you canβt go wrong with this drink. Other than that, they had a lovely array of tasty looking treats, savory rolls, and pre-made paninis. The staff was a man and woman, and they couldnβt have been lovelier. This is the perfect stop if you happen to catch it on your morning stroll :)β
βWhat a true gem amongst so many similarly looking establishments. Just behind the Usher Hall, perfectly located for a pre-theatre bite to eat. Lovely interior full of Persian motives. Fantastic staff members, knowing what a very good customer service is without being intrusive and overwhelming. Beautifully appointed table with lovely crockery and cutlery. Food looking so delicious you can't wait to start. Everything prepared fresh from good ingredients. No GMO, emulsifiers etc. Just pure not artificially improved food full of fresh herbs, spices and organic toppings. Good wine list. Prices won't brake a bank (by latest standards). Highly recommend!β
βI had a matcha lionβs mane with oat milk, and I think itβs one of the best drinks Iβve had recently. The staff are friendly, and the artwork on the walls is beautiful. This place is now on my list to try more drinks and pastries. Itβs cosy and warm, and Iβm really looking forward to visiting again.β
βExcellent breakfast place! Cute and cozy decor. We tried filled croissants, porridge and this lovely pistachio cardamom cake. And also, probably the best coffee we had in the whole of Edinburgh!β
βWon't be everybody's cup of tea 'cos slightly quirky. A wonderful combination of food drink and eccentricities. Less than Β£100 with a good tip & Β½l of wine. Moussaka and Beef with aubergine where both fantastic. "Very nice Orange Cake" says the wife Both enjoyed the complementry ouzo & 'amuse' to start too. A must return I my bookβ
βAbsolutely loved Cafe Gallo! The bacon, egg, avocado & βnduja was delicious β perfectly balanced and full of flavour. The coffees were spot on β smooth, rich and expertly made. Itβs a brilliant little spot to sit back and watch the world go by in Stockbridge. The service was friendly and efficient, and the atmosphere just right β relaxed but with a nice buzz. Definitely a new favourite.β
βThe owner and staff are the loveliest people in Edinburgh: so generous, kind, and thoughtful with all their customers (and not just customers, anyone they see walking past on the street who needs assistance). I cannot count the number of times I've walked past this cafe and seen the owner helping someone out. An Edinburgh food classic. They make the best sandwiches, we won't stop coming here or recommending it :)β
βAmazing all around! An absolute hidden gem that should not be missed by coffee lovers and foodies alike! I cannot commend enough the owners for the amazing attention to detail, dedication, and craft they show to everything they are selling in their shop. The homemade sandwiches and cakes/desserts are incredibly delicious, bursting with flavour, and just feed the soul! I definitely had the best Basque Cheesecake outside of Spain; totally worth the extra calories! Pair everything up with very tasty coffee, and you definitely have an amazing pit stop to start the day or recharge! Should we return to Edinburgh, we will return without a doubt!β
βWeβre incredibly grateful for the outstanding food you provided for our corporate event! The akara falafel was a real standoutβeveryone couldnβt stop raving about how delicious it was. The salad bowl was vibrant and fresh, and the lemon sponge cake was hands-down the best Iβve had in agesβperfectly moist and absolutely delightful! The two trays of lemon cake disappeared in no time; it was such a hit that we only wish we had ordered more! A huge thank you to Tosin for making the entire ordering and delivery process so seamless. Weβre already looking forward to reaching out again to explore more of the fantastic options on your menu. Warm thanks from all of us at Hymans Robertson!β
βPopped in after the gym this morning. Picked up a couple of nutella cookies to take home and wow, they are the divine. By far the best cookie I've had in Scotland. Will be backβ
βDelicious linguine with pistachio pesto pancetta and proper cappuccino. Can taste the quality incidents and pasta was al dante. Friendly people. Quick service. Would be back again soon.β
βThe type of charming local cafe that is sadly all too rare these days, serving a wonderful mix of traditional Scottish dishes and cafe fair with some authentic turkish options. The food is freshly and lovingly prepared to order delivered quickly and with relish. The prices are surprisingly reasonable given the quality. Staff very warm and welcoming and happy to cater to preferences. Ample seating inside and some charming outside tables give it s real Mediterranean feel in the Costa del nitten. Owner passionate about food and pleasing his customers. Only single downside is having to wait awhile for a table as it is so loved by the local community that it's always busy, which is the biggest green flag for a cafe one can give. Highly recommend.β
βNow offering a pop up restaurant on a Friday and Saturday evening. The food was fantastic modern Italian cooked with lots of love and served by the good folk that help create it. You can bring your own wine and the prices are such good value. What can I say ciao Elliott!β
βThe food here is absolutely outstanding! Chicken Biryani β perfectly cooked, aromatic, and packed with flavor. Mutton Biryani β rich, tender, and authentic, just like back home. Chicken Mandi β smoky, juicy, and full of depth, easily one of the best in Edinburgh. The quality, taste, and portion sizes are excellent. Service is warm and welcoming, and the atmosphere makes you feel right at home. A must-visit for biryani and mandi lovers β highly recommend!β
βA great place for people who are located near Edinburgh Uni main campus, Meadows, or Bobby statue. Good quality of food and nice staff! Provides Vegan and Gluten free options. Love it! Will definitely go again.β
βWas recommended this place by a friend who lived in Edinburgh. We came with a lot of expectation since it is booked out fast, and we booked way in advance. Still, very positively surprised by all the dishes. Menu sounds like any typical brunch, but special creativity was added to each dish. The mushroom toast is really amazing, sourdough toast was just right. Staff were also very attentive!β
