βHad a AAA scan at the hospital. From Lorna at reception to having the scan it was first class. All staff are very friendly and professional.β
βJust had my flu vaccination today. Location was easy to find, staff was very professional, and nurse who gave me the vaccination her hand was so stable I couldn't even feel the needle going in. All the nurses were very polite. Would definitely select this health centre for vaccination next year.β
βIt's such a lovely dental practice. My sister usually finds it difficult with new people and places and the staff where amazing with her.β
βA site in the grounds of The Royal Edinburgh Hospital.β
βI don't know what the previous ratings were about but I saw Dr Fraser last week. He was extremely thorough, asking me all sorts of questions to get to the bottom of my issue, did a chaperoned physical very well, and treated me non-judgementally and with compassion the entire time. The only downside is I had to wait half hour but he's a busy man, and I can tell you he was worth the wait. 5 stars.β
βI have been visiting the Esk Centre now for well over four years on a regular basis, traveling approximately over 60 mls every month or as required, to escape from the equivalent services in the Scottish Borders.(which l understand still have not changed to meet the high standards of the Esk Centre in Musselburgh). To begin with, the client or patient or relative or carer is always treated with courtesy and respect. , The patient ( and supporters) are always treated with genuine feelings and emotions that require to be carefully considered and helped. They have considerate rules and guidelines which are in harmony with how a kind and caring medical and psychiatric practise should work. Treating people as adults, as individuals and with respect, while building trust and professional working relationships. They do this by listening intently to your individual problems, after which they begin to form an individual care plan appropriate for each individuals circumstances and needs. The nature of their work is that things often do not go according to their plans. Patients or clients, carers or relatives, all have feelings and emotions which can often affect the patients care plan. But the staff at the Esk Centre continue regardless to treat their clientele with respect, sincerely confronting all issues in a mature adult and respectful manner. Full praise should be given in particular to the office staff who are always friendly, polite and helpful. They do not look down upon the people who speak with them, but rather listen respectfully and try to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. They are also willing to listen to your views and take them on board if they help resolve the problem. I have been privileged to work with Dr Fiona Watson due to my adult son having been assigned to her as a patient for many years now. We understand Dr Watson is sadly due to retire soon, she must be retiring early, which no doubt she fully deserves. In all my years l have never met such a professional, highly qualified doctor who has such a humble approach in treating her patients. Dr Watson is curtious and kind. She listens and will adopt patients views that do not harm the care plan she has devised with her patient. Dr Watson ensures, through years of experience within her field of expertise, that by the time the patient leaves her surgery, that issues have been resolved. A plan of action has been agreed, and that mutual respect remains. That what has occured within the meeting, is a carefully controlled two way dialogue which includes mutual respect and trust. That both parties continue to do their very best to accomplish the individual care plan to meet the patients needs. This can ofcourse include carers, family and friends as supporting the process. The care plan has realistic aims and objectives.lt is adhered to because it respects the patient and the patients support network, treating the patient as an individual that takes into account their complex issues and needs. The care plan is also flexible if required, due to changes in circumstances that arise fro time to time. Previously l mentioned that we travelled over 60mls every month, or as required to escape The Scottish Borders equivellent service. This measure was not taken until my son and his support had suffered the opposite to what the Esk Centre continues to provide. It was a very dark, painful day when we were forced to seak a good mutually respectful caring practise but it became like the Sun in Full Glory when we began using the Esk Centre practise. Thank God for good, kind, thoughtful professional people. Yours sincerely.β
βItβs great: all the doctors and nurses and every service is great, they are late for near all of the appointments but Iβm happy with that and understand that they want to give everybody the same amount of attention and help as every patient in the surgery.β
βCalled the practice and within 8 minutes I had my call returned by the Nurse Practitioner who was able to advise me over the phone. She had a prescription sent to the pharmacy of my choice and couldnβt have been more helpful and kind. This is my first experience of using Inveresk since moving to the area and I have no complaints whatsoever!β
βI can only say how wonderful Royal London Insurance is. My husband passed away on the 4 November, 2025 and as soon as I received his Death Certificate and I phoned them we received our Insurance money within 8 days. Well done.β
βVery pleasant and helpful receptionists. Excellent medical care from practice nurses, auxiliary staff and doctors. Thank you to all of you.β
βIβve had several serious health issues over the past couple of years, and the receptionists, nurses and GPs have been, without exception, professional and kind. Itβs not easy to get through on the phone, but Iβve always managed eventually. They have all given me exceptional care.β
βGreat place full of professionals where you can get help in variety of different problems.β
βI recently saw Charlie Heriot-Maitland at 'Balanced Minds'. I've been a Buddhist for over 30 years so I was very resistant to the idea of therapy, or of thinking I might need it. (Shouldn't I have resolved all that sort of thing in Buddhist practice and meditation?) Also, I'd had therapy before and though I found it helpful, it didn't really help the deeper issues going forward. Charlie was an exemplary therapist. I was able to be very honest with him and he treated me with honestly, insight and care. I felt deeply empathised with but never patronised or fobbed off with easy, pat solutions. My 6 months or so with Charlie and 'Balanced Minds' was incredibly helpful. I am still putting into practice what I learned months after finishing. At the age of 60, I had started to doubt that therapy of any kind could help me (I thought I'd rather missed the boat on any childhood issues!). But help me it did! I am immensely grateful to Charlie for all he was able to give to me. I wholeheartedly recommend him to you, as well as CFT, and 'Balanced Minds'.β
βI was horrified when i read the (admittedly old) reviews of Bo'ness community hospital as a relative was being admitted. Fortunately the hospital was nothing like the reviews said. Staff were so kind, smiley and helpful. Private room was clean and comfortable. A very positive experienceβ
βMy husband Thomas was cared for in the last weeks of his life, not only did the staff make him comfortable, they went way beyond that, as a family we canβt thank senior charge nurse Jackie Little and her staff enough for their kindness and understanding at such a devastating time Thomas had a long fight and he was cared for by district nurses and staff from Marie Curie, who were lovely, but Jackie and her team brought us all so much comfort As a family we will always remember their kindness The Higgins Familyβ
βWould like to say a loud mention to Gayle Morrison Claims Department This woman went over and above to assist me through my accident claim . A true gem and would highly recommend this company . And thanks again Gayle Jim Girvanβ

βWonderful hospital. The Balgonie Ward has an amazing team. I was cared for so well, the staff never stop but are always so kind and caring. They are a real team. The auxiliary, catering, cleaning, nurses, doctors, entertainment lady, the physios and anyone I have forgotten, put me back together again on all levels. I can't thank them enough. I also got so much support from my fellow bedmates. Thank you. Kim xβ

βI dont ever write google reviews, but my experience at Ninewells warrants an exception. Thank you to every single one of the hospital staff and students, who take such great care of us all, with grace, professionalism and true care! Thanks again, it truly means a lot.β
βAs a family, seeking the best care for our parents was crucial. After a lot of comms and research, the care provided by the staff and management team at SSCN was second to none. 2020 saw a significant reshuffle within SSCN and that proactive approach led to a level of care, respect, compassion and understanding being deployed to our parents day and night. We moved from day visits to day visits with overnight stays. As both our parents health gradually and simultaneously declined, the care staff and management team at SSCN became part of the family - then and now. We are grateful to all at SSCN for listening, addressing issues and proactively responding to challenges in 2019 that has resulted in SSCN genuinely warranting a 5 start review in December 2020.β
