“I’ve been going there for adult swim lessons for over a year. Thomas is the best swim coach I’ve ever had. I’ve had many lessons for the past many years but nobody can match Thomas. I came from deep trauma of being in water. Thomas has helped me progress from zero to now capable of being confident in water (not deep water yet) by myself while learning techniques to swim. I consider myself the most difficult swim student. He’s very patient, resourceful, funny and 100% great in coaching non-swimmers. Their management also gave me a trial day pass for the gym and allowed me to use their gym one other day while my usual sports centre was closed for refurbishment. I have only great things to say about them. Fully recommend the centre.”
“I joined the Joint Pain programme 6 months ago and found it very beneficial. All staff were extremely helpful. The class leader was very patient and pleasant, the physiotherapist was excellent and I appreciated the fact that he accompanied me to the gym, giving reassurance that I was doing things that would not be harmful. I found the cafe very convenient and reasonably priced. The relaxed, friendly atmosphere with Freddie and all those on duty made the whole exercise experience a pleasure and one to be continued.”
“Been a member for many years and can’t fault Nuffield Fountain Park. Excellent facilities and really friendly staff. Decent size pool, well equipped gym and regular classes. The health club is run very efficiently by management who are always responsive to any concerns / issues. Very relaxed atmosphere and always look forward to my visit. Big shout out to Manya and Leandro for your excellent customer service, friendliness and warm welcomes every time I visit. The freshly squeezed orange juice from the cafe is amazing. Keep up the good work all and well done.”
“Naveen was very thorough at my first initial appointment, he explained my health issue in details and suggested various ways of recovery. He is very approachable and accommodating, he listened to my concerns and provided an accurate treatment plan and helpful advice. Highly recommend visiting Thistle Physio Clinic.”

“I had a few sessions with Anthony and he's great! Although originally I went there to work through some back pain issues, we moved on to talk about my running efficiency and how to improve it, and even had a look at a problem with one of my toes. I feel he's been there looking for my general health!”

“Oak Tree Vets is a wonderful vets. The staff are really friendly and the vets really know their stuff. In the 20 years we have been taking our pets to them their diagnoses and advice have been spot on and when it has been time for us to say goodbye to our companions they have advised us with compassion and understanding and left us to make the decision and supported us with grwce and kindness. The vets and nurses are all animal lovers and they show kindness to all animals that pass their doors. I cannot recommend them more highly.”
“My partner and I have both been coming here for a while now and couldn’t recommend it more. I’ve been seeing Krista and she’s been amazing at working through my shoulder injuries and helping with ongoing pain caused by hyper-mobility. My partner sees Rhian and has had the same great experience. Both of them are incredibly skilled, professional, and genuinely care about helping you improve. I’ve seen massage therapists monthly for about a decade now and these ladies are easily the best both in knowledge and results. Whether you’re looking for just a one off session to help relax or you have a more serious chronic issue I have no doubt they’d be able to help.”
“Fantastic indoor climbing and great gym. Staff super friendly. I will definitely go back in my next visit to Edinburgh!”
“Good gym go there to get a good glute pump it’s class”
“The gym is excellent. Equipment very high tech but easy to use. Changing rooms nice and clean and staff really lovely. Hairdryer button is hidden at the back. Not much space makes it difficult to get dressed in the shower cubicle. Quiet at lunch times.”
“Just read the previous terrible review giving this lovely facility one star and felt I had to respond. This is a beautiful pool and it has a sauna and steam room. It is very clean and well maintained and the staff are so helpful and friendly. I attended an aquafit class here, then I had a swim and sauna. I left the building feeling very relaxed after all the exercise. The £63 membership that the one star reviewer referred to is a full fitness one- this means unlimited access to any pool, gym or fitness class in the city run by Edinburgh Leisure. Pure Gym only offer gym facilities- there is no pool so there are no aquafit classes there. I would not imagine that they are able to provide the range of classes that Edinburgh Leisure do- at Leith Victoria in addition to Aquafit they run Pilates, yoga, Group cycle, RPM, Zumba and many others. I regularly use both the pool at Warrender and attend classes at the Royal Commonwealth Pool and I was very impressed by this facility and will definitely be back.”
“Honestly this pool is a hidden gem in the middle of Edinburgh tucked conveniently behind Haymarket Station. I went at 9am on Sunday morning and was surprised at how busy it was. The group of older gents in the early morning queue were super friendly and jolly and I had a nice laugh with one of them about the lockers and someone stealing his shoes (kids, joking). The pool itself is clean and bright and the space is lovely. On poolside changing which is a nod to the victorian baths. Poolside was really clean. Five lanes catering for different speeds. Let me use my finger paddles which was cool. Showers fine on poolside. The other swimmers were lovely, the lifeguard waved goodbye to me when I left. I’ve rarely been in a nicer friendlier environment. The ONLY downside was the steps to get into the pool were really odd and wouldn’t fit someone with not great mobility to get in and out. There was a brilliant cafe near by for my post swim breakfast. I’ll definitely be back when I next visit Edinburgh. Wonderful.”
“I always buy a weekly visitors pass to swim at Glenogle when I visit Edinburgh. Fantastic Victorian pool with sauna and steam room, run by friendly and helpful staff. A hidden gem that I would highly recommend!”
“Really helpful staff. Decent weights area and great facilities. Cant fault it for leisure centre.”
“Really relaxing health club Joined 3 months ago and I've not a bad word to say about this place, perhaps the showers could be a bit better though. The pool is warm and the gym is small but cosy, its never got more than 3 or 4 people in it which is great to have a quiet gym. Staff are extremely friendly and they offer really nice cheap cups of tea and coffee.”
“Badly needed a good shave & tidy up after a week on west coast. Got it here. The only problem was had to go & lie down afterwards due to feeling so relaxed! 45 minutes of indulgence! Proper barbers! Go & support a good local business!”
“Easy for getting all types of vape”
“First time visit, Paid £11 for 2 adults and a 16m toddler, very friendly staff, spotless facilities. Communal changing area for the pool, lockers are £1 and are good sized. They have single cubicles or family ones with toddler seats/changing tables (perfect if your alone with a child). The showers were hot and the water was lovely and warm. We took our 16m and she absolutely loved it. To make it even better it has a really warm changing area so your still kept nice and toasty when you come out the pool. They have the main pool and a smaller ‘training’ pool. We stayed in the training pool. The life guards on duty seemed happy and very attentive. The life guard watching the smaller pool brought out so toys for the water, which was lovely of him. We didn’t go but also notice they have a cafe and soft play, which is great for kids. Would definitely recommend this place.”
“Good gym where you can just focus in and get on with it.”
“Martial Arts Club for Tang Soo Do classes. Friendly classes for all age groups. Great for keeping flexible and fit.”
“Cait was incredible today, helping with questions, talking about the facility and in general, a lovely person. sinhead however was confusing with the layout and how the facilities work. would maybe visit again though”
