“My girlfriend and I stayed at the Bala House for four nights back in mid-July meaning I am leaving this review quite late. But I am nothing more than effusive about our stay here! First, the negative (if you can call it that) it is a bit of a walk from the city center. I know that locals would likely just rely on public transportation rather than walk to and from the city center, but, given our nationality, I suppose we are just used to walking long distances since we don't have robust public transportation. Regardless, the walk to downtown is essentially a straight shot, with lots of little shops and spots to eat along the way. It's also just a short walk from Holyrood Park, meaning it's in a perfect location if you are into hiking. The surrounding neighborhood is cute and quiet. The entrance to the Bala House itself feels very safe. The room was stayed in was so spacious, and the bathroom, though somewhat small, had a shower therein with great pressure.The hosts were so kind though we did not see much of them at all during our stay--which isn't to say that someone did not stop by to clean our room a bit while we were away. The bed was large and comfortable. We loved the house! So, would we stay here again? Totally, 100%. I would probably learn a little bit more about the buses though....”

“Lovely modern apartments/suites in a restored Georgian townhome. Impeccably clean and the friendly greeting and assistance from the owners (professionally family run) was amazing.”

“Very nice place with a bit of everything, mainly orientated for play and leasure. I spent a good time in family or by myself in the gym. Birthday party for kids are very usual as well. It is clean and has secure car parking although I found the spaces quite narrow and it can get very busy.”

“Gilmerton grocers is a wonderful shop. Ram the owner has offered deliveries for me as I’m disabled way before they done deliveries.when it was just him and his wife they were so kind and helpful. it is an Amazing community Shop he literally cares for all his customers. I’ve just ordered my brother-in-law 2 sliced sausage rolls and I had the macaroni and cheese which was delicious. Amazing value. “Wow! We decided to cancel our hotel booking and stay at the Ocean Serviced Apartments instead and that was one hundred percent the best decision we made. We originally booked for 6 nights but a few days before we checked in we decided we needed an extra night which was so easy to do. Just before we arrived we found out that they had upgraded us to the executive suite which is on the 7th floor. The views were just amazing and the apartment itself felt very luxurious. From start to finish all the staff were professional, efficient and very friendly. All the instructions were sent via email and explained everything that was required, at no point did we need to question anything. C25 had 2 bedrooms which we had converted into 2 double beds with ensuite bathrooms,one had a shower and the other had a bath with a overhead shower. There was also a separate room with a toilet and wash basin. A closet for the washing room and another for the boiler. The living room was very spacious and had the kitchen at the back and dining area to the front right. There was a balcony with a table and chairs as well. We literally could not of asked for anything better. You could see Edinburgh castle, Arthurs seat and the Royal Yacht Britannia. The bed linen and towels were all fresh and clean and everywhere was just right. You can hear the lift and the floorboards are a bit creaky but it did not bother us at all. There is a cafe and bus stop across the road and an Asda just round the corner. You are about 5 minutes from the harbour which is beautiful to have a walk along. The car park was very secure with ample parking including disabled spaces. If we come back to Edinburgh we would definitely be staying here again.”

“I visited Boots Princes Street on Wednesday. I asked a young lady for assistance. Her name is Lorna and she is on the liz earle department. What a lovely lady. She was wonderful. Very patient and thoughtful and was a great help to me. I want you bosses there to know what a lovely person you have working for you. I won't forget her. Let her know she's doing great and is an asset to the company. And it's not all about getting sales and making money. I'm a 75+ independent lady. She made my day. Take note.”

They have probably forgotten more than most people know about this industry, and to read some of the nonsense reviews on this platform is laughable! The store is great, the owners are great, the team is great and the selections are great - need I say more? A great place to visit if you are in Edinburgh!”

“Strategically located near the Edinburgh Waverley station, this cafe opens quite early and offers drinks and cakes to refresh your morning time. Plenty of seats but can be very busy after 10am. Come early if you want a more quiet atmosphere. Drinks are okay, bakery is nice. Prices are okay considerin its location, maybe targeted to travellers as well. But seems quite popular for the city dwellers to come in group or individually.”

“I took my 88 year old mum for a bra fitting at the M&S store at the Gyle. The lady who helped her was called Margaret and she was absolutely wonderful with my mum. She spent over an hour and a half trying on different bras with a variety of attachments until the perfect one was found for her. My mum was absolutely delighted and I can't praise Margaret enough for having the patience and kindness to ensure that she felt and looked great when she left.”

“Very well run, staff are very welcoming. It’s the parents who let it down! Three mums sitting inside the toddler area so other’s toddlers intimidated to play (plenty seating outside of same). Badly behaved children(bullying) completely ignored instead of putting a stop to it. Really like the quirky seating area and food and drink options are excellent.”

Each time assisted by Hazel and each time feeling completely taken care of. I’ve felt at ease dealing with Hazel. No question Ive had is ever a silly question. Hazel is informative and really listens. Twice now she has just been really helpful, I’ve left with what we asked for and she has an understanding way about her that makes you feel like nothing is a hassle and she’s ready to figure it out.
