“On Saturday 4th Oct, we visited showcase Paisley. We were served by Abbie, who really made our night. We had made the wrong booking and she helped us to fix it straight away, with no problem. She was extremely kind, helpful, friendly and warm and we were so grateful that she helped us. She made our trip worthwhile and we will definitely be back because of her!”

“Wiffy and I didn't stay in the rooms but as a family owned and in the main operated business, The Old School guest house is on the right track. Really friendly place and the breads cakes and food is all made on site, the pride in themselves is the unique selling point as its pride across the board. Just popped in for a toasties and a beer. We will be back in for a restaurant meal V,soon.”

    Carlton George Hotel

    ★★★★☆ 4.4
    Open

“We stayed from July 31 to August 3 in an Executive Double Room with Lounge Access and couldn’t have chosen a better base. The location is unbeatable — right next to Queen Street Station and around the corner from Buchanan Street, perfect for exploring Glasgow on foot. The Executive Lounge was a real treat, with snacks, refreshments, and extra drinks — a great place to meet like-minded travellers enjoying Glasgow’s hospitality. Our minibar was replenished daily (thank you, Mary!) and the personal touches really stood out. Special thanks to Patrick at reception and Mary for making us feel so welcome — People Make Glasgow is especially true here. We didn’t take breakfast, but the rooftop terrace offers fantastic views over the city, George Square (closed for renovations in August), and beyond. Around the hotel you’ll also notice touches inspired by Charles Rennie Mackintosh, from the artwork to the furniture — a delight for art lovers. Our room had a classic style but was spotlessly clean, with a comfortable bed, coffee machine, desk, chairs, and everything we could have needed. We liked it so much we even considered extending our stay by two days — the rate offered was excellent, and we genuinely felt wanted there. No doubt we’d happily stay again.”

    Lynnhurst Hotel

“All of the team at the Lynnhurst and our wedding planner Kerry-Ann were absolutely fantastic and made our day so special by going over and above in all aspects from planning, arranging and particular for the ceremony set up we asked for out of their normal arrangement to the service and support on the day. Kerry-Ann even helped cut personal made bouquets to help us in the morning and was a supporting shoulder for worries on the day. They were all very welcoming and friendly and made us feel so comfortable and at ease. We couldn’t have picked a better venue! The venue itself was also very well maintained and beautiful in the wedding area. If we had to do it again we’d choose the Lynnhurst again!”

    Open

“We visited balloch this morning as it was a lovely day. We walked round the waterfront, visited the country park castle and then looked for somewhere for lunch. We looked at a few places but the Waterside Inn looked the most friendliest and welcoming. We stopped for lunch, I had the macaroni and my husband had the chicken burger. The food was delicious and I would definitely eat here again! We even got a cheeky wee discount on our drinks. 10/10”

“The was delightful. The atmosphere was fantastic, with a decent crowd, but at the same time the wait at the bar for a drink wasn't too long. The bartender Xinya was exceptionally friendly and professional, efficiently taking orders on a busy night. She made the most incredible martini for us. Would definitely visit again.”

“Loved this place! We are here after our afternoon in Glasgow. We had the steak pie and it was delicious! It was a yummy roast beef in a gravy sauce with a puff pastry topper, then some peas and carrots on the side. The place itself is really cute, and they had even cuter bathrooms lol. The bar wall is end to end different bottles of whiskey and bourbon, so great if you're into that. They also make other drinks and have some beers on tap. If I ever came back to Glasgow I would eat here again!”

“A Glasgow Burger Experience Worth Shouting About If Glasgow has no shortage of great eats, this place proves it also knows how to make a seriously exceptional burger. Service is quick, friendly, and informed without feeling rehearsed. Staff actually seem excited about the menu, and their recommendations don’t miss. Prices are reasonable for the quality, making the whole experience great value. If you’re hunting for Glasgow’s best burger, look no further. This place doesn’t just serve a great burger—it delivers a burger moment. Whether you’re treating yourself after a long week or showing off the city to a friend, this is a stop you won’t regret.”

“The tables in here are absolute class! I was pleasantly surprised by how nice it was inside given where it is based. Lots of TV's in the venue so if they show a game you have a great view anywhere in the bar. The pool tables are of perfect quality. The only concern I have is that they are spaced possibly a bit too close to rival tables, including the one we played on which was right beside the toilets. On a Saturday, it was fairly busy with people "getting on it" so lots of drunk guys and girls coming out the toilets pestering us. Overall though, if you can get over that (i'm sure if I was on another table I would not have even noticed) then it's a great place for a few games of pool or to sit in with a drink and watch a few matches.”

“Visited here whilst away with work, Fantastic food. Really good atmosphere, very well priced and has decent beer on offer which is rare in Scotland ;) I took on the Van winkles Bucking hell burger and often with these challenges the meal is bland, It only has size to offer but this was actually an enjoyable eat! I didn't finish the chips but did the burger ok! Definitely recommend this place and I can't wait to go back when I'm next in Glasgow.”

We had to be seated at the bar initially because the place was full, they were quick to serve us our drinks and provide menus, then the moment a table became available they grabbed us :). Food was absolutely delicious. Best food and service I've received since arriving to the city a week ago. Would go again and again and would highly recommend.”

“GREAT ATMOSPHERE WITH GOOD FOOD Was taken here on a Friday evening a couple days after new years. Arrived at around 7:30pm and there were a lot of tables available. Started getting a lot busier later on. I got the Colonel Chipotle burger which was recommended by one of the staff. It came with chips and coleslaw. Both were great quality and very more-ish. The burger was pretty good but honestly I like the sides a lot more. The burger patty was a little to thick for me. Still tasted great! The atmosphere is probably the best part of this place. It's in the sweet spot where it wasn't too busy or too quiet. They're also looked like there was a lot of events going on which I need to go back for! Would recommend going here if you're looking for a place with a decent meal and great atmosphere.”
