βReally enjoyed our visit the food was good and so was the service, it was good to get a dressing on the salad not many places do that. I had tuna and cheese toastie on sourdough it was very tasty, we recommend this cafe.β

βReally good food, we had a lovely Sunday roast and the small was extremely large. Delicious ! Service amazing and friendly, excellent value for money, but thatβs not the draw here, just a lovely place to be and eat, thank youβ
βWe recently had our wedding at Left Bank, and 5 stars doesn't feel like enough. Not only is it just THE most beautiful venue (our guests couldn't get over it!) but Sam and the team are just beyond words. They were there to help at every stage, suggesting suppliers and giving general advice on top of helping with more venue-specific things. They did all the set-up, all the take-down, they were so accommodating to every request, and so friendly and welcoming at every point in the planning process. We didn't have to worry about a single thing on the day because we just knew, and could fully trust the team to take care of everything. Everyone we've spoken to and every member of staff we've dealt with has been a delight and so happy to help, we genuinely don't have a single spot of negative feedback. It also feels so special that Left Bank isn't just a wedding venue, so we can return as much as we like for drinks or events and re-live our day. Thank you to the entire team (and especially Sam) for making our day a reality. You're all the absolute best!β
βMy meal here was absolutely fantastic! The mushroom was rich and silky, the cheese was so deliciousβeach bite felt like a treat. The steak, cooked to a juicy medium as requested, was tender and seasoned flawlessly. A huge shout-out to the server Brad! He was attentive without being intrusive, recommended the perfect dishes, and checked in just enough to ensure everything was perfect. His friendly smile and quick service made the evening even more enjoyable. Will definitely be back soon!β
βI had a lovely breakfast with my kids. The staff is dedicated and very professional. The food is excellent. We ordered a full English breakfast.β
βI visited Cafe No 8 before Covid and really loved the food. They shorten their operation hours after Covid and we finally made it for Sunday lunch today. We had a starter, mains and dessert. The food was just as good as I remembered. Service was good too. This place just celebrated their 20 years' anniversary in York which tells you that they got to be good to last that long given the ultra competitive food scene here. The food was of top quality, refined and cooked with care. We had beef and pork tenderloin and they were so tender. The potatoes were roasted perfectly. And we had a selection of vegetables (Broccolini, Parsnip, Carrots, Spring Onions etc) not over cooked like many places. And I was so glad to try the Dark Belgian Chocolate Truffle with Black Sesame Ice Cream. I love black sesame ice cream but is a rarity to find them in York. I wish I could buy a tub of their black sesame ice cream and bring it home. If you are looking for a place with a relaxed atmosphere, serving non-pretentious and delicious food, I recommend Cafe No 8 Bistro.β

βThe Welcome In lives up to its name. As soon as you enter you are aware of the lively and friendly atmosphere. There is a buzz about the place and you are always greeted with a smile. Excellent coffee and homemade cakes make for a pleasant morning break.β
βToday is not the first time I've loved the food here, and I'm certain it won't be the last. When it comes to good pizza dough, the owner knows his stuff and it shows. You can tell that he chooses good quality ingredients through and through. To put it simply - What a genuinely kind man, who makes genuinely good food. I can't wait to come back for more. This is my favourite place to go for pizza, and I'd love to continue to support such a simple yet effective business. Thanks again. You've left us all very happy and satisfied. Very much vegan and vegetarian friendly.β

βWent for breakfast here and got the small breakfast with hash brown. I would argue this breakfast is better than many of the breakfasts I have had within Leeds city centre and beats capri cafe. I would highly recommend, the staff are lovely and accommodating and you can tell the food is made with love. I recommend bringing cash to leave a lovely tip for this amazing local cafe.β
