“Lovely little find, and really good to see a cafe set up for accommodating cyclists, who are able to park their bikes on a rack just inside the cafe. Friendly staff, nice atmosphere and decor. Loved the bench seating and cushions .. I do like nice tables and seating .. walked past loads of cafés today which didn't tick those boxes for me! Hence my delight at this find :-) Food great and the bacon butty and hot drink deal was really nice and great value at £6. Chai latte and fruit crumblejack cake also highly recommended. Will definitely visit again :-)”
“A great little coffee shop with an extremely tasty Americano and hot milk at a very respectable price. Will definitely visit again.”
“Just staying at Hamilton Hilton in Leeds and found this coffee shop. What a little gem it is not a fancy or corporate coffee shop But it is a good traditional coffee shop that serves a range of very nice coffees and basic but nice foods also they sell Nigerian bags of coffee beans or ground. Pay a visit if you stay at the Hamilton Hilton in Leeds its only a 10 minute walk and very reasonably priced”
“First time I visited had a great breakfast the staff were a tentative polite and the food came very hot and was well prepared. Definitely worth a visit.”
“Amazing, lovely coffee, perfectly made flat white. The milk wasn’t burnt which is so important for me. The lady who made the coffee was so friendly. Would really recommend, one of the nicest coffees in Leeds.”
“Properly nice little cafe. Ordered Dirty Eggs Benedict, absolutely delicious.”
“Very attractive coffee shop, small from outside but more seating inside plus nice outside seating as well. Perfectly made flat white plus good custard tart. Lots of regulars, have WiFi. Clean and smart. Would visit again and recommend”
“First visit to this cafe & had brunch- 5 items of English breakfast. We hadn’t booked but were happy to wait for a table & it was totally worth it! The barn itself is beautiful, the food was delicious & reasonably priced. Will definitely go back.”
“When I came to York to meet my overseas friend, we had actually passed this place. Since then, I've often wondered what it was like. So, seeing as I was spending the day in York, I decided to take a walk to Gatehouse Coffee and try it out. Although it's not an overly big place, it's very quirky and worth a visit! There's some chairs inside, and then a number of tables and chairs outside, which is great when the weather is nice. The lady who served me was super pleasant, as was the two chaps in there too! Was nice to sit outside and relax for a while with a cappuccino. Would definitely come back here again, and a great stop-off if you're walking the York City Walls!”
“Absolutely fantastic little cafe for Coeliacs - dropped in today for the first time and was really happily surprised. Staff were lovely, the granola is amazing and have just finished the takeaway Rocky Road. So nice to be able to eat somewhere and feel safe and welcome. 10/10 would definitely make a bee-line for it whenever I'm in the area.”
“Beautiful little cafe with friendly staff who were attentive and made sure everything was ok. The sandwiches were great and tasted fresh, along with a nice side salad. Lovely Yorkshire tea too”
“Lovely piece of cake, good quality. Staff very friendly and cozy”
“I come here on a regular basis for my coffee, and it is always a good experience. The staff are very friendly and have very good knowledge of coffee. Give very good suggestions for you to try depending on the style of drinks you like. Always look forward to going in to buy my new batch of coffee.”
“Gorgeous food and great people creating and maintaining ome of the best vibes and atmospheres in a beautiful little coffee house. All are welcome is their motto and you can tell, you feel welcome from the first moment you step through the door . Thank you for looking after us”

“Visited York for the day and in the excitement, my diabetic mum unfortunately let her blood sugars drop too low so we just had to take a gamble and visit the first place we saw. The ladies that greeted us were very accommodating. Sorted a table straight away and recognised that my mum needed help and grabbed her an apple juice right away which helped loads which we were very grateful for. The food was amazing, one of the best toasties I’ve had in a long time and the iced coffee was also very nice. Thank you again for helping us out.”
“Parlormade is always busy every time I visit — and for good reason! Their scones are delicious, and the cheesecake is absolutely amazing. I love this place so much and always end up taking some home!”
“Been meaning to try this place for a while and finally did. Really well made coffee with great tasting means, the mocha was a bit sweet for me but it was made at the perfect temp. I’d have a flat white next time.”
“Very decent place, went few times. My little boy wont eat spicy food, so he was offered lovely plain chicken meal. They do lovely tea and coffee. Can highly recommend it.”
“Been wanting to visit for ages but never got around to it before today. Food was beautifully cooked and presented. We have the full English and the savoury French toast. You’ll leave happy with a big smile on your face. Service really friendly too and our dog was given a free sausage! Will definitely be going back :)”

“I stayed in hebden for a week and discovered this place near the end of my stay. Very polite and lovely staff. Fantastic food! Not to mention a chef who goes above and beyond when she's not cooking she's clearing tables and radiating loveliness. All food is cooked fresh to order with high quality products used toasties and bacon sandwich are too notch! Delicious iced coffee and all round a beautiful setting and reasonably priced.”
“This is a great place for a relaxed coffee or lunch. We found the coffee and food really good and the service excellent. My husband is in an electric wheelchair but despite the journey through the store and up in the lift, access was ok and the staff eager to find us a good spot in the cafe. Original, wholesome and relaxing coffee spot. We’re holidaying between Harrogate and York again and we will visit this place several times…. Just off there now in fact!”
“Great food, lovely setting. And coffee from people who really know and care about coffee. Decent cakes, too. I've twice attended coffee tasting events here.”
“The best brunch spot in Leeds! Both Oakwood & the Chapel Allerton site have such a varied menu. So whether you’re craving an eggs benny, have a raging hangover and need something with a kick or plan on being super healthy then it all here under one roof! Staff are friendly, food served quickly and the best ☕️ cappuccino I’ve ever had for sure!”
“Very pleasant first time visit to Aroma today. Enjoyed an American and a panini. Service was very friendly, lovely smiles all round, very polite. Thoroughly enjoyed the panini and the coffee was very good too. Would recommend.”
“When in Leeds, my family and I always try and visit Kapow Coffee (The Calls) for a warm drink and a sweet treat! There is always such a warm and relaxed atmosphere there where we can just sit and watch the world go by. The staff are always really cheery and always go above and beyond to ensure that we have a pleasant visit! The manager here is always very kind and chatty and you can really tell that he is passionate about his work. He definitely knows his coffees!!=) We will continue to visit Kapow Coffee as it is one of the best in Leeds!”
