Josh was an absolute star from start to finish, he went above and beyond for us and the planning process could not have been easier. The whole team at the Hovels were lovely on the day and everything ran so smoothly. The venue and grounds are beautiful and the cottages round the corner are so handy too! The food was incredible, so many guests said it was the best wedding food they'd ever had and there was plenty to go round too so nobody was left hungry. We also really appreciated that there were no extra hidden costs after booking and we never felt pressured to add on additional extras either! We absolutely had the best day we could've imagined and were so happy with our choice to get married at the Hovels ❤️”

Ostrich like fillet steak but lighter. try it.. its not chicken. Monkey gland sauce... sweet and chutney like. Miele with the chackalaka sauce, different and good. Try something different for a change. Its nice and bloody filling, roll me home and pop me. Great staff. Good food. What more can you ask for...”

“Went here on a Saturday evening for a birthday meal. We were given a very friendly greeting as soon as we walked in and out first drinks arrived promptly. There are some unusual and very tasty dishes on the menu and we all tried something new. Thank you to our server Emma who was able to answer all our questions about the food. Would love to visit again next time we are in Harrogate.”

“Just around the corner from the main food court but still in the market. Sweet Saeeda is an absolute treat for anyone looking for super fresh, flavour-packed, Tunisian food. It's years since I've been to Tunisia but I don't remember ever eating anything this amazing when I was there. The range of items is really good and I can wait to try more but I had a Chicken Tunisian Plate this time which offers fantastic value at £8.50. An assortment of crisp salad items, chickpeas, olives, hummus, mechouia, beautifully marinated and fresh cooked chicken, fresh bread and an assortment of sauces that includes an umami-packed chilli one that's awesome. The lemon wedge adds yet another flavour layer. You also get a drink of your choice. Service is friendly and fast and there's a couple of tables right outside if you don't want to spend ages trying to find one that needs wiping in the main hall. You also get served on beautiful plates too. All the food other people were buying looked equally mouthwatering, I can't wait to go back.”

“Lovely Italian restaurant in York! We had pizza for lunch and it was really delicious. The staff were extremely kind and helpful, especially with our wheelchair, which made the experience very comfortable for us. Great food, great service, and a very welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommended!”

“Wow, what a place! First, the decor: Tins of chopped tomato line the shelves - more varieties of chopped tomato than I knew existed - and the walls are adorned with both local artwork and stunning relics from the restaurants Marco’s father had owned in Italy. A highlight was a painted plate, depicting Marco’s father and mother as a chef and what can only be described as a seductress (neither depiction accurate, according to Marco) under the watchful eye of Il Passatore - a roguish Italian highwayman and Robin Hood figure. Second, the welcome: Marco is a delightful man. He came and chatted to us. He told us about Il Passatore. He brought us appetisers made with friarelli, a Neapolitan broccoli so nice my colleague left with a jar! He gave us a delicious and very boozy alpine digestif as we left. He is an excellent host and restaurateur! Third, the food: I had a puttanesca pizza - divine. Homemade chilli sauce to dip the crusts - divine. Friarelli and red pesto appetiser - divine. My colleague had a calzone the size of three-year-old. We ate like kings. I cannot recommend a meal at Marco’s enough. I was in Hebden Bridge for only one week. I simply popped in on my lunch break, and was treated to a meal I will remember for years. I left with a Marco’s Cafe T-shirt - the design a collaboration between his daughter’s artwork and Marco’s own AI skills - which I will wear fondly for a long time. Thank you Marco!”

“This was our first visit to this small italian restaurant in the centre of Meanwood. The staff were very friendly, helpful and efficient assisting with the nuances of the menu. The concept is one of sharing your dishes similar to Spanish tapes, so that's what we did. The food was unusual and delicious with good-sized portions. An all round great evening and I will certainly be going back. Well true to my word I came back with friends and again everything was outstanding. The menu had a number of changes, which was interesting and confirmed that they use what's in season and fresh. Throughout the evening, we shared probably 10 dishes and they all received rave reviews from our table. Get booked and give it a go.”
