“This was a lovely pub for drinking, with a bright interior and old fashioned layout! The intervals between different sections create this and clock in the middle is a classic, as is the model lifebuoy. Counter is well presented and I enjoyed a pint of Cruzcampo, sitting at leather seating by a clean table!”

“Lovely quaint little pub sat by the edge of the river is a beautiful spot for a bite to eat. Mark the bar man is very welcoming and friendly and the atmosphere serene. Two cosy dining rooms perfect for a romantic dinner.”

“Ideally located for our trip, all of the staff we met were extremely friendly from the cleaners to the reception and bar staff, they really were very helpful with any needs we had. The leisure facilities were top notch and very clean. The hotel is a bit out from the town so we stayed around every evening which wasn't an issue as the food was excellent. Highly recommend a stay here and should my work bring me back that direction I will be staying there again.”

“Amazing experience at black house on Saturday night! I came to celebrate with my partner and I couldn’t have asked for a better server. Kitty our server was so attentive to our needs, gave us good advice on food options and what wines would be good to compliment the dishes with. She even went the extra mile and gave us a desert to celebrate together which was a lovely touch. We left with full stomach’s, indulging on the best steak and drinks.”

“Quite frustrating experience. I went there for food and I parked in the designated area. After a week I received parking ticket. I tried to call the administration of the restaurant but nobody responds the call. Now I have to pay additional charges for visiting that place. I won’t visit again.”

“Famed for their burgers, it was great to see they had a plant-powered menu with a large selection of options! Myself obviously going for the “Hey Hot Stuff” which was a @movingmountainsfoods patty, vegan cheese, jalapeños, roquito chillies, onion rings, spicy vegan mayo and the usual burger toppings. There’s a good selection of sides too, but what won it for me was the Vegan Duck Loaded Fries! Quacking with flavour, the ‘duck’ was succulent and tender! Smothered with juicy hoisin sauce and topped hoisin mayo, toasted sesame seeds, spring onions and red chillies. I would happily return here just to gutbash on the fries alone! And there’s few venues up and down the country, including London, Leeds and Manchester. Real messy but so worth it!”

“Really great food. The fried chicken was very flavourful and juicy. The fries were crispy on the outside fluffy on the inside. The kebab was really tasty also. The delivery driver was very friendly also. Will definitely be coming here again!”

“My sister & I came here recently for a quick lunch. We parked for free nearby and walked down to The Briggate. It doesn't look that big from the outside but I was surprised how large it was inside. We found a table then I went to the bar to place our order. I don't like using the App as I like to check out what ales they have on offer and I prefer to deal with human beings behind the bar. I ordered a fish & chips lunch with mushy peas and my sister went for a small ham & fried egg dish with chips. I had a pint of Ruddles Best which came with the price of the meal. Amazingly for the two of us the bill came in less that 18 quid. How's that for a bargain. All good!”

“Lovely meal at olive tree. Friendly service with a warm welcome into a nicely decorated dining area.Special thanks to rumel and safa.. Busy on a saturday evening. We were a group of 6 peoples.We ordered starters and main both.. For the main, 3 of our party had the Steak and each opted for a different sauce option. I chose peppercorn and would recommend this. Steak was juicy and cooked well to a medium rare. Fries were thin and crispy. For dessert I had the Tiramisu . This was the best tiramisu. I tried. I also had a glass of the Merlot this was nice. The toilets were well decorated and flushed effectively. Everything was spot on.. Surely,Would definitely back again..”

“Just had our annual Christmas dinner and get together here for the first time and absolutely loved it xx portion sizes are huge, the food was served hot, no mean feat when serving 15 people and really delicious xx the staff are so friendly and nothing is too much trouble xx if you are looking for somewhere to eat, don't miss this xx”

“Stop off on way back from emmerdal tour. Called in place was extremely busy but still managed to sit us down. Very fast service given how busy they were. Waitress fantastic and really friendly. Food really well priced. Can't fault the place. I'd definitely go back next time in the area. Given how busy it was and football was on I could not recommend this place enough for a quick bite to eat. Great place.”

“Chose this pub as visiting a local attraction & managed to park in the very small car park at the back, probably only room for 3 cars really but not surprising as it's a local, city pub. It's not a flashy pub, a bit worn & tired with the decor but had attentive, nice & friendly staff. Ordered food which was nicely made & arrived in good time with the lady in the kitchen coming out to our table to check how I wanted my 2 fried eggs cooked on my gammon & chips meal! Brilliant! Ordered dessert afterwards which was presented well & tasted great! Menu had some good deals & the food was simple but tasty. Thank you to the lovely staff.”
