“Really great place! The food has always been amazing, the price is reasonable, the atmosphere is great. We have been for dinnet and also enjoyed one of their themed nights. The puctures are from a Frank Sinatra night which was wonderful and would definitely recommend.”

“Went here last night to see Rianne Downey, very cosy, very spacious, theres a room specially for the music, the toilets are very clean, then theres a restaurant too, as you can imagine the drinks are very expensive. There's a lot of music and comedy on here!”

“Had a lovely meal Saturday evening, the chef accommodated us, even though we were very late(not our fault) only a few minutes before last food order, he produced a delicious curry for me and delicious fish and chips for my husband. So we decided to book for Sunday carvery. Absolutely delicious with an excellent choice of vegetables and trimmings with a good choice of meats, all very hot, very tasty, well presented by a friendly chef”

“First visit for drinks then returned for dinner. The superb range of dishes on the menu made it hard to choose. My partner went for duck breast, while I had chicken in a mushroom and brandy sauce. Both meals were delicious. Drinks were well priced and the staff were first class. Friendly, helpful and efficient. The whole ambience of the place is chilled and relaxed with good music and a lovely atmosphere. Highly recommended.”

“Great place to eat for your lunch break! Make sure to book in advance and pre-order your food if you want to eat during lunch hours. I had the lucky chicken burger, fries and a ginger ale (if you like strong ginger ale, I would give this one a pass). The staff and service were great and the food was lovely. The staff were very helpful and competent when it came to dietary restrictions and allergies. Unfortunately, I didn't get to try any deserts, but the options sounded delicious. I was with a group smaller than 6, so there was no service charge (don't be afraid to tip). Overall, it was a great place to eat at and my meal/drink cost £14.75.”

The food surpasses all expectations in its quality and flavour. I had a pizza and some chicken strips. Much, much, better than you'd think. This is my new favourite place.”

“Ordered 3 pizza's via the App, ready in 30 minutes. Good first impression, looked well cooked, not greasy and not too much topping. The base though, wow! Amazing. Nice and crispy and chewy too which is essential for all good pizza. We all really enjoyed them and will definitely order again.”

“An incredible meat feast! I could hardly fault a thing with my meal nor the service. The 'Full House' burger was top tier. A mouthwatering stack of chunky beef patties which had superb flavour, tasty pulled pork and bacon as well as thick wedges of brisket. The brisket was a tad dry in places so a little chewy but had amazing flavour from the smoker. The bun was sweet and nicely buttered but fell apart quite easily and was also a bit dry. I thoroughly enjoyed every bite though. The sweet potato fries were great and the coleslaw was some of best I've ever had. I also had a half rack of BBQ ribs. These were really good value for the amount I got. They were also up close to the best I've ever had. Very little fat and the meat was lean but had a nice crop coating from the grilling. It's not a cheap place to eat but you do get a lot for your money so perfect for a rare treat.”

Off the back of a FB recommendation by Richard Tree, we decided to treat my father and also my brothers visiting friend from the US to a nice pub lunch at the Airedale Heifer, Mirfield - I rang ahead to check if we could get a table for half two. As it happened, the doors opened shortly before then and Ashley, the brand new landlady, was on her own, looking after the venue which she had only just taken on board, running the place. She warmly welcomed us, gave us a background to her taking on the venue and then took to the kitchen to cook a monster order we gave her. Me and Paul had the Mega Meat Platter, Carol had the Buttermilk Chicken Burger and Caroline had the five starter dishes deal - a lot of food for the lot of us with any excess heading to dads small plate to nibble at. While the Platters were all incredible, and Carol gave the chicken burger a solid thumbs up, the standout for us was the Fried Cauliflower Wings with Ginger and Soy Sauce - truly moreish and I couldn’t stop picking at them, even when the stunning meats had filled me up (the chicken was a highlight, utterly buttery). The Airedale is a great venue with a cracking bar, a marvellous menu and a very warm welcome: highly, highly recommended.”

“It's moved next to or part of the shepherds arms in cowersley, you can get drinks from the pub and walk through. Been twice in, first as a couple, then a group of 8. Everyone enjoyed a good meal and not much of wait. Book ahead if there's lots of you or drink in the pub, which is also very pleasant. Prices good too..”

“First time at The Turnpike. Booked table for 4 on line. Great welcome on arrival. Fantastic food. We all had different dishes which were all fabulous - compliments to the chef. Extremely good Indian food which I would highly recommend. Great service, very clean, good value, good atmosphere and lovely helpful staff. We will definitely be going again! It was a very busy Friday night and I'm sure on any other night food would have arrived more quickly. The smoked half chicken was absolutely juicy despite it being smoked which is usually isn't the case and the reaper was absolutely spicy as hell but the patty was delicious. The scoop doo was immaculate. And Joseph was so attentive and constantly checking in to make sure we didn't die of the spiciness and made sure we were comfortable. Loved being here!”

“I had lived in Leeds for 4 years about 15 years ago. I still come back and visit my friends there. Previously, I had only been here at night to have a few pints with my mates, but having come back to visit Leeds after a number of years, I decided to have a Sunday roast before heading back to Manchester Airport. I made a reservation (good idea, as the place really fills up) after seeing they did a roast on Google. I cannot imagine a better Sunday roast. This was an absolute stunner! I'm bringing my Leeds-born son back next year, and we're already planning on visiting Lamb And Flag for a Sunday roast. Do yourself a favour and get yourself over to Lamb and Flag. It also doesn't hurt that it's next door to the rather picturesque Leeds Minster. I can also say that the prices aren't bad at all. Considering I had earlier spent 8 quid on two ice creams from an ice cream van, 32 pounds for a pint, a full Sunday roast, and dessert seemed like quite the deal.”

“Pub has it all, garden, nice loos, lots on tap, dogs allowed, pool, tv, football on big screen in the garden in summer, pies, great down to earth menu for food after I've been to my allotment up the hill ”

“Although I didn't have food this evening I have in the past and it's a great family menu, the atmosphere is always great, very friendly clientele which often has great events, although they have had afew let down events, staff are great with taking on feedback and following through with contacting the agencies, particularly the general manager Chloe. I always look forward to chatting with the locals and enjoy a little sing song!”
