Even though they’re always so busy, they really have nailed the art of hosting. Special thanks to Ojis, Zac and Leandro and of course the wonderful manager Rob. “We dined on a thu evening at The Rise for my parents wedding anniversary. We were greated by a card from the restaurant to my parents which was a lovely touch. For starters we had the cheese souffle. This was delicious however it said with walnuts but we didn't see any. For mains two of us had the lamb shanks, my husband had the fish and chips and my mum had the fish pie. Portion sizes were on the smaller side but more than adequate for us, the fish pie was larger and mum said every mouthful was packed with seafood. All were absolutely beautiful. Delicious well done chef! We only had two desserts, the pavlova and the chocolate mouse. Both were very tasty and each with its own twist on things. Food is on the more expensive side, but you pay for what you get and it's definitely worth it. Drinks are very expensive, nothing special but absolutely OK. Service fabulous the staff never stop working hard to ensure you are well cared for, very attentive. We were served by Jack mainly but all staff were fabulous. We have had two afternoon teas here which were also delicious and wonderful. The whole hotel was beautifully decorated for Christmas. We will definitely be coming back and highly recommend.”

“Love this cafe! Such a lovely area, the staff are great and the food is amazing. If you want to get to the cafe, you have to go to the right hand side and press the buzzer for the cafe and they let you in. Lots of parking and great way to watch the aircrafts.”

“Only had cake, coffee and toasted currant tea cake, I can't comment on their other food. However what we had was lovely and the coffee is great, always our first choice for coffee in the area. The staff are lovely and service great, what more can you want.”

“This is a great, family owned local cafè with delicious menu options and fantastic kind, friendly and efficient service. The atmosphere is lovely, with the choice to eat indoors or outside. The food is outstanding and, though expensive, the portion sizes are good and the taste is amazing. I was very glad we visited and I will certainly be going back again. A not-so-secret gem practically opposite the village green. Loved it!”

“I haven't been to a barbers in years- I shave my own head and used to do my own face. I've just been letting the beard go wild, but it recently went from "mountain man" to "cult leader" so I thought it was time for a tidy up. Headed here based on other reviews and thought it would be worth a go. Booked via Booksy- dead easy and convenient. Arrived on time and got a cracking beard trim. Twenty minutes, full works- no nonsense. Neatened up perfectly (and my beard is all kinds of awkward) and finished with a straight razor and hot towel the old-fashioned way. Great value too. I wouldn't know about head hair, not having any myself. But if it's as good as the facial hair work, do it.”

“Food was nice & fresh. Veggie burger was nice but would be nicer with some more seasoning as it lacked flavour & tasted plain. But nice effort. Pizza was nicely cooked and toppings were generous, pizza base nice too. They gave us free Garlic bread pizza & it was lovely.It was nice gesture & also called to make sure we pick it up in 10 min so the food is freshly prepared to be ready. Nice place and nice people. Would be great if you could add more flavours and seasoning to pizza & burger. Thank you”
