“Lovely Sunday lunch served here. Part of the college so unsure what it's like during term time but of a Sunday it's really nice, quite full but we'll spaced so didn't feel too busy. Food couldn't be faulted”

“We popped to Hoole a few weeks back and had seen this restaurant and said we'd come back and try it. So we did and oh my days it was so delicious. The portion sizes were huge. There is an option to choose half portions which I thought was a lovely idea and great for lunch times if you didn't want a big meal. We will definitely be coming back”

“We’ve been to Chez Jules in Chester to celebrate our 10th anniversary. And what an incredible experience we’ve had there. It was a great surprise, we had delicious food and Ula who was our waitress delivered an impeccable service, she was extremely friendly and kind. “The menu is great. Many options that you won't easily find together somewhere else. We got a Chateaubriand which is served for 2, and it was great as medium cooked. I would prefer it in thinner slices, but this one was also OK. Juicy, soft, and pink inside. We also got sides of Slow-Cooked Beef Shin and Stuffed Bone Marrow. Bone Marrow could be too fatty for some, but for me it was great as is. Beef Shin was a bit sweet, of being caramelized, i guess. I just didn't like that every single thing in the menu is served with some big amount of grilled/fried onion which I think is the signature of the venue. It was with every single thing we ordered - and it's too much of it at the end. With the desserts, they have quite a lot options again. we got creme brule and biscuit torte. Biscuit torte was a bit too sweet but creme brule was amazing. You also have options of ordering mini-desserts with hot drink costing only 6.50 and I liked this opiton. What I ordered was a full size of it and I guess it might be too big for some after eating that much. What I didn't like regarding the venue is the service which makes you wait quite a long time for only asking for your order. It was too much of allowance for us to think :) Also, we have been seated to a table which was dark due to the lamp which wasn't working. I was told that the lamp was broken for some reason whan I asked that to be turned off - because it was just too dark without that working. And I didn't like that the staff had me seated there knowing it wasn't working while we had some other options. We had been seated to somewhere else then. The price is higher than most of the steak houses in the city, but for an understandable reason after having this experience. You can park your cark in the parking area of the court cross the street. Not an effort to complain for walking to the venue from the parking area.”

“Really nice public house in an historic building within the town walls; they also have their own onsite micro-brewery with four of their ales on tap when we visited all of which were excellent. The staff are friendly and as we piled in as a group of eight they did their best to accommodate us despite us not having a booking (we had been let down by another pub in Chester that accepted our booking but when we arrived they stated that they didn’t have any room for us) , both for tables and food. The food was very well cooked with a good choice including vegan meals. All in all, a very nicely ran pub with pleasant staff, good ales and food; what more can you ask for?”

“The girls and I came to Bar Lounge as it was recommended by our friend that lives in Chester and it was lovely. The weather was gorgeous so we were able to sit outside and the atmosphere was great. The food and wine was delicious and Nick was so friendly and welcoming, he couldn’t do enough for us. We will definitely be back when in Chester again, thank you!”

“Classic Chester city centre pub with low beams and darker interior although the music livened the place up nicely. Enjoyed my visit and a decent selection of real ales and candles lit on all the tables adding to a nice relaxing vibe. Looks historical on the outside and even more so after you enter.”

“Great food, lovely staff, great atmosphere. It’s a very convenient place for romantic dates as well. They have been so kind that they offered us drinks on my birthday. We enjoy their duck every time. They also have a very tasty onion soup. This place has much wider space than it looks from outside. Proper for big group meetings including company dinners.”

“We are a party of eight who spent the evening celebrating our friends 60th birthday. Could not fault anything. The most delicious food, all served freshly prepared and good and hot. We were thoroughly looked after by Cristi and all the staff, never made to wait but not rushed either. It was plain that they really cared about giving us excellent service all evening. “I would recommend booking before arriving for a Sunday roast as this place was absolutely buzzing! The soup of the day was melt in your mouth delicious and flavoured perfectly! We tried the chicken, pork and beef roasts. They were equally amazing. I preferred the chicken as it came with crispy skin. The pork came with wonderful crackling if that's your bag. You cannot leave here without having pudding. The brownie, cheesecake and toffee pudding were out of this world. The kitchen is on point with timing and the wait staff did them proud despite how busy it was. Lovely, warm, welcoming and worth a visit for sure. You won't regret it!”

“We are repeat visitors, the food and service is always excellent. However, we did have issues with the bill (incorrect) on a couple of occasions. I raised this on their feedback web form. I received a call from the manager Cosmos on the same day. He was very receptive to my constructive criticism and promised to address the issues. I was very impressed. Thank you for this. “Visited Prezzo Broughton for dinner around 6 PM with a group of 5, and we had a lovely experience from start to finish! I ordered the Caramel Iced Latte, Chicken Milanese with Spaghetti Pomodoro, and finished off with the Quadruple Chocolate Cookie Dough dessert – everything was absolutely delicious. The Chicken Milanese was perfectly crispy and paired so well with the light, flavorful spaghetti pomodoro. The dessert was rich and indulgent – a must-try for any chocolate lover! The iced latte was also refreshing and just the right balance of sweetness and coffee. A special shoutout and big thanks to Manager Mr. Achintha, who went above and beyond to make sure our table was well looked after. His warm and professional service really stood out and added a personal touch to our evening. Highly recommend this branch for a relaxed and tasty meal. We'll definitely be back!”

“recently had a burger that was an absolute standout. The patty was perfectly cooked—juicy on the inside with a great sear on the outside—and packed with rich, beefy flavour. The bun was soft yet sturdy enough to hold everything together, and the toppings were fresh and well-balanced, adding texture without overpowering the meat. Every bite felt indulgent but thoughtfully put together. What really elevated the experience was the service from Lauren Howarth. She was friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, making sure everything was just right without being intrusive. Her positive attitude and professionalism added a lot to the overall meal and made the visit even more enjoyable. All in all, it was a fantastic burger paired with excellent service—definitely a meal I’d be happy to come back for.”

“Very much enjoyed a sweet treat and fruit juice on my visit. The service was perfect and all the staff attentive and friendly. The surroundings; a little bit of old fashioned luxury. I was seated at 11.45am and the restaurant was really starting to fill up by 12.15pm so I would recommend booking in advance if possible. The caramel, chocolate and crumble tart shown was heavenly!”

“Went here Christmas eve, place is amazing inside, great architecture and kept all original features with a modern twist, gorgeous food and the best cocktails. Shut early as it was Xmas eve, but can imagine it being a buzz at a normal weekend.”

“Venue Hire Review: My dad recently passed away and we wanted somewhere private to hold a Celebration of Life with his family and friends. I therefore reached out to a few places to find out what they could offer and enquire about the room and buffet options they had available. The Holiday Inn Chester West replied quite quickly, but most importantly they offered their condolences before going into any kind of sales pitch, which the other companies did not. Harriet sent us a lovely Celebration of Life brochure and said that we were welcome to visit to see the room available, so we arranged to take my mum up a couple of days later. We were extremely impressed with what was on offer for the price and therefore paid the deposit there and then. On the day itself the service provided exceeded our expectations. The room was beautifully decorated and just the right size for our guests. The food was delicious and plentiful and there was a great choice available to suit all tastes. There was a Bluetooth speaker available, so we created a Spotify playlist of some of my dads favourite songs which helped to create a lovely atmosphere and the staff also helped us to set up a photo display that I had created, along with a beautiful memory table. All of the staff were absolutely brilliant and I cannot thank them enough for helping us arrange a lovely Celebration of Life during what was a difficult and emotional time for us all.”

“Visited for the first time today for my dinner in work. My work colleagues have had takeaway from here before they told me it was really good. The restaurant wasnt your average chargrill house, it was really warm and had a rustic vibe to it. I ordered the 6oz cheeseburger with sweet chilli sauce and fries. Being a well travelled and massive foodie I've got to say this was without a doubt the best cheeseburger I've had in years! Absolutely gorgeous food! Way better than anything else I've found in Chester even the posh new food courts where the old bus stop used to be. Staff was very friendly and explained what shwarma was to me and even let us try the cold Greek drink they serve in like a milkshake mixer free of charge to see if we liked it. 100% I will be visiting regularly from now on. My only negative thing i can think of is that I haven't been to this place sooner!”

“Had this amazing curry box from Amantola last Friday. It came with a chicken in a delicious curry sauce, Donna meat, vegetables and curried chips. It came with a side of flatbreads and was great for sharing with the family. We always have a Friday night curry from here and it’s always excellent! Maroosh makes sure everything is delivered fresh.”

“Great hotel on the outskirts of Chester. Approx 15 min drive to the zoo, Cheshire oaks and Chester city centre. Was slightly worried after booking as read some reviews that didn't rate this hotel but we found it great. Staff very friendly and always happy to help. Bar area nice, breakfast and bar food we had very tasty. Room clean and tidy. Had a problem with the room door not working properly but the handy man arrived promptly and sorted very quickly. Pool and gym facilities looked lovely but didn't use on this occasion. Would stay again.”

Everything was full of flavour and clearly made with care. The setting is cosy and stylish without feeling formal, and the staff were so friendly and attentive throughout.
