“Been to Figo’s twice now and second time was even better than the first. The restaurant is beautiful, the service is amazing and the food is always top notch. I had the lamb chops last night and can genuinely say they were the best I’ve ever had. Packed full of flavour and tender. The fish is very fresh as well as the veggies and you can tell everything is made to order. The portion sizes are great here and it’s affordable dining. Big fan of both their Turkish red wines as well. Can’t recommend enough.”

“After a great first visit in November, I returned to La Cantina in February 2025 for another business lunch – this time with a different group of colleagues. One of my business partners ordered the Chicken Saffron, which looked and smelled fantastic, while I decided to try something new… and epic. I went for The Beast – a massive steak, also called Tomahawk by the chef (who I suspect might be Spanish – which would make sense, given how truly Mediterranean the kitchen feels). Whether it was 32oz or 42oz, I’m not sure – but the size and presentation were unforgettable. Served on the bone, grilled medium-well, juicy, rich in flavour… easily one of the most impressive steaks I’ve ever had. As a starter, I ordered the King Prawns Alla Cantina – partly because my business partner from the first visit couldn’t stop talking about them. And yes, he was right – they were juicy, full of flavour and served hot, just the way they should be. I finished (barely!) with the chocolate fudge cake, which once again delivered that warm, rich, gooey texture I loved the first time – plus smooth vanilla ice cream and generous chocolate sauce. Incredible. I’ll absolutely return to explore more of the menu – because everything I’ve tried so far has been fantastic. And if you’re reading this: drop a comment if you’ve tried The Beast yourself – for me it was a serious challenge. One thing I know for sure now: no more starters before that steak! :))”

“What a great place, some of the best tapas I’ve ever had. Even something simple like patatas bravas was tasty, and the baby chorizo wasn’t something I would normally have, but I’ll be on the lookout for it in the future. It was busy but we were well looked after and it had a good atmosphere. We had a 2yr old with us and we shared our plates with them, and they ate every last bit. We will be returning.”

“I can't remember the last time I enjoyed a meal so much. I ate three courses of which the starter and main were huge portions but I couldn't stop as they were all so delicious and ate the lot. My dessert was basically ice cream with a rich toffee sauce and digestive biscuits crumblings over it, just enough to finish my meal off and all washed down with 2 glasses of house Merlot.”

“Was in the area for work but used to live locally and remembered this place , I bypassed other closer chippy's to revisit here and it was just as good as I remembered. Wide variety, the fish was great and cooked fresh to order so slight wait but worth it . And there even serving gyros now, I didn't order but another customer did and it looked great. Staff were friendly , tbh server was very attentive and professional...it made a difference Will be back again”

“Great New Years evening with delicious food and amazing atmosphere We came soon after the first lockdown and had to sit outside as inside was closed but still enjoyed our food and the atmosphere. We wanted to return and NYE was the best excuse, and not the last time either. The food was hot and tasty just as stated on the menu. I had asked for a couple of changes and this was done with no fuss to allow me to have the dish the way I wanted. All the staff were working hard but in a relaxed Manor which came across as a friendly place to sit back, relax and enjoy the evening. 100% chilled vibes and top notch food.”

“What a gem. Hadn't booked but they kindly fitted us in, and I'm glad we went. The food was spectacular with a great choice from the menu. Only down side was that I was a little disappointed with the amount of vegetables/ potatoes that came with it. Easily resolved by ordering some more, but it was one of the best meals I've had in a long time. Staff were polite and helpful, and although the restaurant was fully booked, we weren't at time made to feel that we had to go. Would easily recommend to anyone who comes to Chester and fancies an Italian.”

“We visited Liverpool from Newcastle over the bank holiday weekend and found this little gem. I had the "Persian Kebab" which consists of a cubed chicken, cubed lamb and minced lamb skewers, all of which were seasoned and cooked to perfection. It also came with chips and salad. I also ordered a portion of saffron rice to go with it. There is also a sitting area upstairs and the guy who served us was very polite and friendly.”

“Myself and my partner ate here as our first date night during lockdown! We’d been looking for a place that could prepare traditional gyros to help us get over missing Santorini so much. It did not disappoint! I had the halloumi and my partner had the chicken gyros. Massive portions, fast and clean service and so, so yummy! We’ll definitely be visiting again soon!”

“I highly recommend Olive and Grape, a welcome new addition to the Rose Lane eatery scene. The menu is really interesting and varied making choosing what to order difficult (only because I wanted everything on the menu). The food was fresh, flavourful and looked picture perfect. Everything i and my partner ordered was great so there was no food envy. There's a great selection of wines by the glass. The service was also attentive and friendly. I hope Olive and Grape continue to do well and I certainly will be patronising as often as my finances allow.”

Even with a last-minute booking due to issues at another restaurant, the staff were incredibly accommodating and made us feel welcome from the moment we walked through the door. The scent of BBQ and charcoal filled the air as we entered, which instantly got my taste buds excited. Sitting us down close to the window enhanced our experience. My wife enjoyed a refreshing glass of pink gin and lemonade while I indulged in a pint of the Efes. The staff went above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful time, providing helpful recommendations from the menu. Before our main dishes arrived, the staff surprised us with freshly baked bread and dips, which was a delightful touch. The Chefs platter was suggested, and it was a delicious and plentiful mix of BBQ'd meat that left me feeling completely satisfied. Overall, it was an incredibly enjoyable and friendly evening. “I cannot recommend Luna enough! We have been visiting here since it first opened (when it was Istanbul) and we’ve never had a complaint to make. I particularly enjoy the breakfast here and order the vegetarian option every time. I love the variety of different foods on offer and it’s different because it’s Turkish based (which I love!) so it’s not just generic breakfasts and lunches etc. The Turkish bread and dips is also a firm favourite. We also bring our two children with us as there are many options for them. Our daughter loves the pancakes! The staff are always super friendly and helpful too, as are the owners who we have spoken to a few times. We love the decor and find it really welcoming and cosy. There is on street parking too so no worrying about having to pay for parking. Overall, Luna is our go to restaurant in Woolton village and has been for over ten years. Surely that says something about the food and customer service!”

“Lovely welcome and easy check in. Our room was gorgeous. Modern, great layout and beautifully cleaned . Large bathroom, big bed, tea, hot chocolate and a cafetiere with proper ground coffee! A comfortable and quiet sleep and a fabulous breakfast included the next morning. Great free parking on site. Set on the river with easy access to river, town and walls. Perfect!”

The bun was soft yet sturdy enough to hold everything together, and the toppings were fresh and well-balanced, adding texture without overpowering the meat. Every bite felt indulgent but thoughtfully put together. What really elevated the experience was the service from Lauren Howarth. She was friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, making sure everything was just right without being intrusive. Her positive attitude and professionalism added a lot to the overall meal and made the visit even more enjoyable. All in all, it was a fantastic burger paired with excellent service—definitely a meal I’d be happy to come back for.”
