“Came back here as I remember really liking the place as a child and was still amazed with how good the restaurant still is. Me and my partner came into the restaurant at 19:30 on a Friday and greeted by the staff which were super friendly. The restaurant was very quiet as well which was very nice to see so we had no problem being seen when we needed to by the staff. Great selection on the menu and we chose the Seafood platter which we both really liked the look of as well as some extra garlic bread. We both really enjoyed the food. Although we would suggest avoiding the garlic bread as it was £4.70 and we only got two small pieces which we didn’t think was too great. Although we thought the seafood platter was really good for the price. We both really enjoyed all the food and would definitely come again.”

“Absolutely delightful pub and setting, we stopped off after a short walk on the canal. As my daughter loves live music they let us stay for a little while to little while and listen to it. We are very grateful to them, thank you. Is probably more catered to the hipster student types but if I was 15-20 years younger I would have loved it there. Excellent.”

“The family and I have been coming here for years. Absolutely adore this place. Always great service and fantastic food and tasty wine. It truly is the hidden gem of Chester, we always recommend Pacino’s to our friends. Took my mum here today for her birthday. As always, we were greeted warmly and seated promptly. I had the house red, the pork ribs and goats cheese bruschetta as a starter and then the lamb shank with a side of super tasty vegetables for the main. And of course I had to have a dessert - cheesecake! Everything was fantastic. Cleared our plates as always. Pacino’s really makes you feel like part of the family. You’re welcome in with open arms and served such delicious food. We’re all so ready for a nap now. We’ve had a lovely evening. Always come here if you get the chance.”

“Really nice public house in an historic building within the town walls; they also have their own onsite micro-brewery with four of their ales on tap when we visited all of which were excellent. The staff are friendly and as we piled in as a group of eight they did their best to accommodate us despite us not having a booking (we had been let down by another pub in Chester that accepted our booking but when we arrived they stated that they didn’t have any room for us) , both for tables and food. The food was very well cooked with a good choice including vegan meals. All in all, a very nicely ran pub with pleasant staff, good ales and food; what more can you ask for?”

“It was our first visit (a Birthday celebration) and its certainly won't be our last. The entire dining experience was faultless. We received a warm welcome, enjoyed stunning oer d'oeuvres and fizz, before moving into the restaurant for the exquisite 7 course tasting menu which was accompanied by superb well thought out drinks pairing. A social mention to Sommelier Boris, whose knowledge and passion shone through and made sure that we had a memorable experience. Hats off to Chef Elliot and team. Chester should be proud! Highly recommended”

“Went here for the Porsche planes and cars event. Great day out, diner is very nice with eating in and out, staff were friendly and its family friendly. We didn't have any food apart from a coffee and slice of cake but we wouldn't of hesitated to order any food as it appears clean, and we'll managed. Staff appeared organised and not stressed under pressure as it was quite busy. Would recommend a visit and will be visiting again.”

“Fireworks. Food and atmosphere was brilliant, my sister’s family and my family had a really good time. (Family of 8) Two young girls who looked after the Sunter table were brilliant. Especially the young girl with brown hair, who took over half way through and took desert orders. She was brilliant with the kids. Great night thanks team.”

“What a gem. Hadn't booked but they kindly fitted us in, and I'm glad we went. The food was spectacular with a great choice from the menu. Only down side was that I was a little disappointed with the amount of vegetables/ potatoes that came with it. Easily resolved by ordering some more, but it was one of the best meals I've had in a long time. Staff were polite and helpful, and although the restaurant was fully booked, we weren't at time made to feel that we had to go. Would easily recommend to anyone who comes to Chester and fancies an Italian.”

“Excellent experience to dine here these two nights I stayed in Chester. The first night, I ordered steak, medium rare, the meat was really well prepared. The taste, the seasoning was super tasty. Tonight, my husband and I ordered lamb chops, it was AMAZING!!!! The sauce was so tasty. It’s definitely worth coming again.”

“We love the Vale Royal Abbey Arms because it’s a large, well-managed pub in a good location, with plenty of parking. Our dog loves it because there’s usually plenty of space in the dog-friendly dining areas and there’s even a dog menu and doggy treat station. The food is very good - I’m a particular fan of the steak and ale pie, and you can have a miniature dessert and coffee if you’ve not got room for a large portion. The service is excellent. We have been looked after several times by Ben - who is particularly thoughtful and efficient.”

“I Visted the Levant kitchen and bar on Monday night while in the area because of previous reviews. These reviews do not lie! The beef burger was incredible with great service and polite servers! I would highly recommend the Levant kitchen and bar.”

“We were so pleased we stopped here to eat as the food it brilliant. It’s a great menu which we would genuinely eat anything from and nice to see something different. Flavours in the gumbo were beautiful and I loved the fact you can heat it up with various different sauces. Our daughter had the ribs and chips and they knocked spots off any previous incarnations of the same. Chips really were good, we will get our own next time. Lovely, friendly guy running the restaurant, he does it all himself and he’s doing a great job. We will be back!”

“I would recommend booking before arriving for a Sunday roast as this place was absolutely buzzing! The soup of the day was melt in your mouth delicious and flavoured perfectly! We tried the chicken, pork and beef roasts. They were equally amazing. I preferred the chicken as it came with crispy skin. The pork came with wonderful crackling if that's your bag. You cannot leave here without having pudding. The brownie, cheesecake and toffee pudding were out of this world. The kitchen is on point with timing and the wait staff did them proud despite how busy it was. Lovely, warm, welcoming and worth a visit for sure. You won't regret it!”

“1st visit for us today, came away determined to return sometime soon. My wife had the Thai curry which she said was delicious, I had the Fish and Chips. The fish was substantial and delicious, but, the chips were cut too thin with the result that a good number could not be fork eaten and were hard. The portion of chips was also a tad stingy. As mentioned in previous posts the drinks are expensive, I've had cheaper pints in London. But despite this we will be back and in larger numbers I think.”

“My wife took some family here for dinner on Friday. The service was excellent - all the team could not have been more helpful and attentive. The quality of the food was excellent, the portions very generous and tasty and, importantly, served piping hot. Definitely cooked to order. A couple of things missing from the menu - probably because of a local food market taking place - but substitutes were available. All in all, ten of ten. Just a shame we are in Kent or we'd be regulars!”

“lovely food, service was very nice and prompt, tables where clean and plates cleared quickly. Some dishes weren’t available but that didn’t impact the experience at all, still 50/60 still available, food stations were also kept clean soo overall very nice experience. “Really enjoyed our Christmas lunch at The Royal Oak today. Staff couldn't have been more pleasant and attentive to our needs plus special fusses for our son and daughter in law to bes dogs and turkey treats from the kitchen for them too. We humans were treated to the most delicious food, we all savoured our starters, mains and desserts. Nothing was too much trouble. Our compliments to the chef and all the staff who worked really hard today so we could enjoy a fabulous, relaxing Christmas day.”
