“Excellent colombian food with a slight twist. Went there on a Saturday for lunch, the first to arrive for lunch. The menu was very interesting, with some traditional Colombian dishes and others a bit more their twist (e.g., the sushi with plantain, and the buñuelos with smoked mackerel). We ordered a few dishes for the two of us to share. The arepas con choclo, buñelos, empanadas, plantain sushi, and the arroz atollado. It took awhile for the food to come, which I think has to do with us being the first to order lunch. The good thing is that it did indicate that the food was freshly made, rather than reheated. All in all, the plates were very tasty. My favorite was probably the arroz atollado (rice with coconut and seafood). The amount of seafood in the rice was generous, the coconut flavor and the sauce were really tasty. The crispy fried plantains added a nice crunch to it. It could have used a bit of acid, but all in all it was great. The arepas con choclo (arepas with corn kernels) were probably my second favorite, but arepas with choclo are my favorite kind of arepas. The empanadas were my least favorite. It's not that they weren't good, but I thought they could have more carne and less potatos. The amount of food was good for the two of us, no complaints about portion sizes. I read a few negative reviews saying that the food didn't have any bold flavors. I guess that many people associate Latin American food mainly with Mexican food, with their use of spices, moles, and other salsas to boost the flavor. Colombian food isn't like that. It's generally not spicy, but more about letting the flavor of the base ingredients come through. Worth noting that most of the menu is naturally gluten free.”

“A fantastic little pub with a great selection of beers and ales. Lots of quirky memorabilia and historic adverts all around the pub, a great atmosphere and friendly staff. Beer was reasonably priced for a suburb of London. A proper, unpretentious pub!”

Albeit a limited menu (vegan options) the quality, price and the service, WAY surpassed expectations. The coffee exemplary. Also a nuanced range of gifts, cards and miscellanea. Happenstance on the periphery of London. Readily recommended.”

The flavours were UNREAL, the chef is a genius. this is some of the nicest food we've ever eaten. And it's a lovely place to sit and relax, beautiful decor, lovely service. “Delicious food and great service! Had the kleftiko and it was amazing - it really melts in your mouth and I’m not even generally a fan of lamb. Comes with a greek salad and freshly made bread sticks, all very good too. Portions are huge, struggled to finish. At the end we also got a shot of Amaretto, which was also great! “Very nice friendly pub. Amazing pizza which was a suprise first time! I now order pizza via phone and collect instead of ordering a takeaway from elsewhere because of the quality and the price. There is a gluten free option of pizza as well. Photo shows gluten free in foreground and normal in the background. Burgers was also good. There's also a bottomless brunch and a good pub quiz on Tuesdays. Overall great place.”

“Great pub in the east of London. I'd consider the area a bit sketchy if I was walking around at night, but it's nice during the day. Cool interior design and a great covered patio. Limited food menu, but the mac and cheese and toads in a hole were both good. Lots of drink options.”

“The only downside is they don’t have more tables!!! Make sure to book ahead because this place is always PACKED. And for good reason. I’ve been twice, once without my kids and once with and, wow. Both times have been spectacular. The food is exceptional. I’ve had the rump steak with chips before and, this time, we opted for the grill box for two. I was worried it would be a normal “London” portion (overpriced and small) but we split it between myself, my husband, and our two toddlers and we still struggled to finish it. I would easily and happily recommend Bife to friends and family and have come here to write a glowing review to help their business (not that they need another one!). By the way, the staff were fantastic with our kids. They have high chairs, changing tables, and were so sweet with our kids. Something we always love and so appreciate.”

Restaurant area was cozy, the folks there were attentive and super friendly and considering they were cooking for so many people at once, the food came out fresh, together and delicious. Would recommend. Price per head including a few drinks each, food is value for money.”
