“Purchased an E-Bike from here, had to get it fixed due to an accident I had, delivered the bike and was advised it would take up to 3 weeks to have the part needed to be delivered. Got a call by the end of the second week and it had been fixed. Due to a busy schedule I was unable to pick up the bike for a couple of weeks, they did not rush me to collect the bike which...I don't know if it is worth mentioning but that was a real positive part of it for me. I then had to have the wheel sorted due to a punctured innertube. Brought it in and I was advised of how long it would take, It was completed in good time as advised. All the staff, especially the team in the bicycle department have been incredible. Jack and Sorin are so friendly and have so much knowledge. Cannot remember the head technicians name, I think it began with an M? Really really nice guy too. Service is on point and the staff are a credit to the company.”

“Can not recommend highly enough. We have been visiting Slaters for the past three years for our son suits for collage. Every visit, every suit, (our son has now had 5 fitted suits) the staff knows exactly what to do. Sizes spot on, and if the suit needs tailoring, honestly the team work like magicians. Would love to say a special thank you to Spencer and John for the wonderful service over the years, you both go above and beyond for our son. It's lovely that you remember us year after year. Not once was she pushy for sale even offering to hold till next day while I decided. She was also helpful with things to visit while in UK. Always find good quality and stylish shoes here. Pricey but you know you are getting quality here and not the deteriorating quality of other high street brands such as Clark's and others. I guess the old adage is true that you get what you pay for. My favourite formal shoes are from here and some 12 years old. Still perfectly good for use though!”

“Love me some R&B's! From the 1970s in Leytonstone (now closed) to now, Brent Cross; it's one of those stores that I've always trusted. The quality and the craftsmanship are one of the best. I don't think their shoes are made in the UK anymore, and that was evident from around early 2000, Anyway, the boots I purchased were the COMBAT, 8 Eyelet Military Boot, for £275.00. The leather is really nice and soft, with as mentioned a sole replicating that of a military boot. They do feel slightly tight on one foot, but hopefully, due to the softness of the leather, the boot should hopefully widen slightly. I bought these for bad weather days, so I will hopefully get more use of them in January, February.”

She brought out insoles for me to better help me visualise how the shoe would fit when I eventually do buy, and was incredibly knowledgeable about the brand. There was also a lady with a headscarf (I didn’t get her name) who was brilliant in making me feel welcome, offering me a glass of Prosecco and water for the duration of my browse. Thanks team :) I felt quite special in that store that evening.”

The stock is well displayed. Many of the shoe styles, for men and women, are available in wide fittings as well as standard fit.”

“I took my elderly mum to the Bromley branch yesterday. She was so despondent when we arrived after yet another disappointing visit to another established, well known high street shoe shop. The moment we stepped inside the door, all her shoe shopping woes disappeared! We were greeted by such a lovely lady who immediately understood my Mum’s difficulties and knew what she needed. The lady was so patient, kind and knowledgeable and we cannot thank her enough for her help (I wished I had asked her name now!) We left with shoes, sandals and slippers, all at a very reasonable price. There was also a lot of choice, which made a very pleasant change. We will definitely be going there again.”

I was greeted with a smile by one staff member, after browsing I was asked by another staff member if I needed help, there was a third staff member who was busy but smiling and laughing also.
