“Proper pub. Good people and good beer”

“Excellent lunch small tea room attached to pub. Although not part of pub, home cooked lunch, fresh sandwiches and homemade cakes. I had a Brie and Cranberry sandwich there was plenty of filling and very tasty, my husband has ham egg and chip again was very tasty, lovely pot of tea ,I will definitely visit again, and all VERY reasonable excellent value”

“Our experience was more than pleasant, with very friendly and accommodating staff. It is clear that a lot of work has gone in to the recent renovation and updated menu with really good quality food - I’m guessing there is a new chef since the poor food pictures reviewed in the last year do not match our experience at all! The food was more than tasty pub grub and a welcomed feed during our boating holiday. A lovely new patio area too! We enjoyed lunch so much, we came back for the live music in the evening.”

“We had a lovely visit to Santa's Grotto today with our 5 year old. The Grotto is a magical experience for children and all the staff are amazing and make it really special. Definitely worth a visit!”

“There were eleven of us having breakfast together after attending Colney ParkRun. Staff were really good. They were friendly and helpful. The food was lovely. The photos are of Eggs benedict, Eggs and avocado on toast, and the full barrel fry up. I was very satisfied with the Eggs benedict, best I've had for a long time. (Complimentary toast too!)”

“Booked the function room for a milestone birthday. Price was great for hire and included DJ, who was great at playing requests. Clean facilities. Staff friendly and helpful. Would recommend to others and will definitely book again for future events”

“Really friendly, sunny, park-based cafe serving excellent eggs. We stopped by near the beginning of a cross-country drive and found it easy to park on-street by the park. Fresh flowers on every table, *super* dog friendly, and left us with a smile. We will definitely be back, even though we live 150 miles away!”

“Just had a really lovely meal here with the kids. New chef apparently. The kids fish and chips was really well done with beautifully cooked chips and really lightly battered white fish. I had satay chicken to start with jerk chicken for main and that was really good too. Nicely cooked and well presented. Very good value too.”

“This is a locals pub, there are no bells or whistles, it's what it is and it does it well. I go there mainly to watch football. Prices are a little lower than average, they really don't do food, apart from the odd roll and packet based snacks. But sometimes you don't need a place providing gastro pub cuisine or the latest cocktails. This is a pub, not a bar, with great staff and atmosphere. Nuff said.”

“Lovely spot to go with the whole Family. Several food options to choose from, great cocktails and good variety of beer and non-alcoholic beverages. Had DJ playing in the arcade, lots of seating. We changed seats for every course as you can order from the app and it gets delivered to your table.”

“Can’t speak highly enough of this Middleton Steakhouse. The staff were absolutely brilliant — friendly, attentive, and genuinely went the extra mile to make the experience special. The food was top quality, cooked to perfection, and the service was spot on throughout. A few months back, they really made my birthday feel extra special with some thoughtful touches. Easily one of the best dining experiences I’ve had.”

“My sister and I chose to enjoy a traditional English buffet breakfast for a very reasonable £7.50. It tasted much better than I had anticipated! We were greeted at the door by the delightful Naomi and her colleague Demi, who took our orders. Both were extremely polite and accommodating, contributing to a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Finding a parking space has never been an issue, as there is a spacious car park available.”

“Second time visiting here, had the Sunday roast, 4 of us had the pork shoulder and 2 had the chicken. I must say this probably has to be the best roast dinner I have ever eaten out (I've had a fair few) and that's a big statement, the roast potatoes especially tasted amazing, 6 empty plates left on this table. Definitely compliments to the chef. Will definitely be returning for a 3rd visit and probably more. Keep doing what your doing!”

“My surprise birthday party was held here, food was quite honestly the best buffet I’ve ever had - selection of hot and cold foods and the amount was amazing. We had our own bar area and staff so attentive and friendly Really could not of done more to assist. 100% would recommend and will definitely visit again soon”

“Went along to the New Inn for a meal with the family and have to say the food and service was absolutely spot on. I had the best cooked steak I have had in a long while. The rib eye was tender and i asked for medium rare and it was exactly right which is often not the case with pub food. All the food was superb. Would definitely recommend .”

“We had our wedding meal here and it was perfect. We hired the tank room and the locker room with the bar upstairs. Our guests ordered from the normal menu- everyone loved their food and all meals came hot which was great when cooking for just over 30 people. They were great accommodating different dietary requirements. Laura was fantastic and made sure everything went smoothly. The table was laid out beautifully and everyone had a great time. Could not have asked for a better venue for our wedding as it was perfect. Would recommend to anyone thinking of booking an event here.”

“Birthday bowling with friends!! Had fun & staff really helpful. Bar was packed and only one behind the bar and was overflowing and had a wait which could have been sorted out easily. Bowling all lanes full and packed which was great to see for a family business in our home town. More staff are needed so all areas yet they were brilliant & professional.”
