Whilst the food is slightly expensive it is definitely worth it and we wouldn’t hesitate to go again and will be returning.”

Fresh tandoori prawns were the best for a long time. So much on the menu we could have chosen was the hardest bit of the evening. Come and enjoy a wonderful night for either a group or a couple. “We were dropping our son to the University of Nottingham end of September and stumbled upon Compà in Beeston on our first night of arrival. It was our son’s suggestion and we decided to check it out! I am so glad we did! The food was delicious and it was like visiting a family - cosy, warm ambiance and pretty lights inside that made it feel festive and special on a week night. We were pretty tired after flying from US to London, than taking a train to Nottingham the next morning so it was especially nice to sit down and take time to enjoy this place, yummy food while we planned next few days. We stroke a conversation with the owner who turned out to be such a wonderful kind person and it made us feel even more comfortable and welcome. It was a lovely experience and a warm welcome. Would highly recommend! Moments like this make sweet memories and have special place in my heart. Grateful for discovering this restaurant and meeting Angela. Many thanks!”

The Estrella was delicious and Sangría went down a treat. It's a must try! Make sure you reserve a table as it gets busy and they can't seat walk-ins during peak times”

“Visited the restaurant recommended by a friend and it was well worth it. Great atmosphere, tasty food and friendly staff. We ordered 5 dishes and all of them were brilliant! Just an area that they can improve on is the training to the junior staff taking orders. Some info provided to us was not accurate (like set of 2; we ordered 2 and they served 2 x set of 2), but got them in a doggy bag. Over all rating five stars.”

“Starter: cheese and ham board: very nice, all fresh, olives, honey,ham cheses nuts ets delicious Main: Chicken dish very nice , not dry not at all, was just perfect. Lamb kofta very nice not to spice but not bland just right. Fries perfect crispy outside and soft inside. Fresh herbs from their garden nice touch. They also have vegetarian option and the plate was full of delicious food Beer cold, music great :-) Atmosphere: staff kept asking if we need anything. We all felt very welcome. “On the 1st of November I had the most incredible 40th birthday party at La Rock. Daiva, Nick and all of the staff absolutely blew myself, my husband and all of the guests away with their exceptional standard of service. Now as regular customers we are used to their high standards but with 55 guests, nearly all of which were drinking they made sure everyone was attended to leaving everyone as impressed as we always are. There was never a queue at the bar, the food was incredible and the way they constantly checked in with me to make sure I was enjoying myself and everything was ok just added to the whole experience. I have the most ridiculously long list of foods I have to avoid and this never seems to be a problem. No matter how complex this gets they take it in their stride and serve me with dishes that look as good as every other guests. Their relaxed and calm manner helped when at times the night became quite overwhelming. I really can not recommend them more highly ❤️”

“My husband and I stumbled across this pub after doing a walk in the area and we were really pleasantly surprised. This has to be one of the nicest outdoor seating areas I’ve come across! So many gorgeous flowers and just such a pleasant atmosphere. We had the steak pie which was lovely and a nice cold pint that went down a treat. The staff were lovely and friendly and the prices were very reasonable too! So, if it’s a nice day and you’d like a drink in a lovely, quiet beer garden, look no further!”

“The first time we came they only supplied coffee and cake, but now they offer lunches. Yay. The first thing that strikes me, it’s a lovely atmosphere. Nice and friendly staff and customers. It’s great to see they welcome laptop working and have a fair guide available to see. Encouragement for extended laptop working is upstairs with a nominal fee. Parking is available in the Broxtowe’s car park is opposite or if you can keep you visit time down to 30mins there is free street parking round the corner (we managed 35 mins and didn’t get a ticket). It is on the tram route with a stop just 2 mins up the road. The tomato soup with sourdough was lovely. The facilities are spacious and clean.”
