“Brilliant place mainly locals but so so welcoming Will be returning”
“Conveniently located to visit south hams. Friendly helpful knowledgeable staff Clean well kept campsite. Corner shop and garage and pub 5 mins away Basic shop but it does stock vegetarian Magnums!”
“We so enjoyed our holiday booked through Unique Homestays. Everything about the holiday was Perfect! The house was absolutely delightful. We hope to book again very soon.”
“The Watermill at Whitehay Estate was a beautiful base for our family holiday to Cornwall. The high quality kitchen, tennis court and the estate were fantastic. Jullian and Cherry were charming and made us feel very welcome.”
“We spent a week at Rosecraddoc Holiday Village. The Manor and holiday village grounds were beautifully kept . I loved exploring the gardens . The bungalow was spotlessly clean and comfortable. There is absolutely nothing by the way of a shop or a pub on site which makes for a really peaceful experience. The dark skies afforded us a stunning display of the Aurora Borealis , amazing.”
“Excellent resort. Evertything is very clean and tidy, quiet, well maintained and friendly staff. We stayed for a week and had an absolute lovely time. The swimming pool and the bar/restaurant were also very nice!”
“Fabulous Sunday lunch, great beer, very friendly staff. We went in as customers and walked out feeling like friends. Incredibly generous portions delicately cooked. Can easily compete with top Michelin star restaurants”
“A quiet, relaxed stay. House was lovely very clean and tidy. Large bedrooms all with en suites. Hot tub next to your house was great. Well stocked with crockery, bbq provided, wood burner ( we didn't use as had lovely weather ) Beautiful lakes to walk around, ponies to see. Swimming pool area, was tidy and well maintained. Hot tub in the swimming area as well. Seperate male and female changing rooms again very clean. Pool was empty apart from our group both times we visited so lovely for us. Plenty of parking either alongside or in front of property. Other guests nearby seemed friendly and suggested paths to walk. Tavistock is a beautiful town nearby for shopping, cafes, park etc. Looking forward to our next visit!”
“Great little old style hotel. Clean, tidy, warm and comfortable. No breakfast, but a recommendation to use the park cafe. Parking is good.”
“We only stayed here for one night during a cycle across Cornwall. The staff here were amazing! We arrived late after cycling from bodmin via the Eden Project. Despite us turning up after kitchen closing they were willing to not only make us some dinner but even cater to my super fussy requests ! The room was clean and in great condition with comfy bunk beds. Really happy with our brief stay!!”
“You know what, it might be a teeny bit dated, only a tiny bit though, but everything else was excellent. Lovely staff, good breakfast, clean hotel, free street parking that was always available, just a couple of mins from the ferry and shops, big rooms in the Hussey Suite and just a lovely feel about the place.”
“Very comfortable quiet bedroom with v. friendly local pub next door to have a good meal and join in the monthly open Mic session! The breakfast delivered to your door workes really well- delicious sausage, bacon and egg bap and geat granola and museli cereal. Sadly too wet to ebjoy the loveley warm communal Hot tub up on its own terrace. Will do though next visit. Very handy for the SW coastal path. Only a mile off.”
“We had a great stay at Barnabas House, Steve and Angela are the most warm and welcoming hosts. Our room was spacious, spotlessly clean and extremely comfortable. There were so many small touches that make a big difference, such as every tea you could wish for, biscuits, cold water and milk in the fridge. The bathroom had luxurious shampoo, conditioner and shower gel and an amazing walk-in shower. Steve and Angela have thought of everything you could possibly want in the room! We had a delicious breakfast with local produce in the dining room, and although we didn't have a chance to use it, there is also a beautifully decorated lounge with a well-stocked honesty bar. Thank you for such a great stay!”
“Visited here as part of the Discovery Project women's retreat. Loved every second. Recommend it wholeheartedly. The yurt was lovely. The peacocks and ducks were so cute. Hot tub was nice too! Food was delicious!! All vegan and gluten free. A dreamy place to be.”
“Quite simply delightful. Lorraine and Ian made us so welcome from the minute we arrived unannounced. The room was perfect and had all the amenities to help us settle in. Breakfast was wonderful particularly the Welsh Cakes. Ian and Lorraine couldn't do enough for us including recommending local places to eat and drink, and including us in the family party. If we could give 6 stars, we would.”
“An incredible location, perfect for unwinding in today's hectic world. Walk through the temperate rainforest and sit by the river waiting to catch a glimpse of Reed buntings and kingfishers. Lou and Andy are sensitively maintaining their farm with conservation foremost in their aims, using traditional native farm animals to great effect. It will be worth visiting many more times!”
“Absolutely loved our stay in fir cottage. Everything we needed was there, hours drive to most of the places we wanted to visit. Great relaxing time in the cottage and hot tub. Dogs had a great time in the secure garden and a walk around the woods and field. Highly recommend a break at woodside”
“Visited here now for a number of years and is definitely our home away from home. Esme and Brian have always been incredibly welcoming into their home, breakfast is the best in both food and experience and yummy lunches available if requested. They go over and above every single time. Views and location to die for and farm is handy for anything you want to do while on Dartmoor, and importantly short walk to excellent local pub.”
“Fantastic apartment in a stunning location. This apartment is furnished to the highest standard and the owners have thought of everything you could possibly need for a relaxing holiday. Linens, towels, kitchen equipment is all of an excellent quality. The extras in the kitchen on arrival was also very nice, as were the items in the bathrooms. We never tired of the view across to Burgh Island and watching the gentle sea flowing in and out. This apartment is ‘just perfect’”
“Anchor Cottage is in a beautiful location and we loved being able to kayak and SUP so easily, with a decent window of time either side of high tide. The coast path & forest walks are spectacular. The house has everything you need and Kaz was a wonderful, friendly host. We would definitely recommend!”
“Wonderful house for a family get together. We arrived to an excellent welcome pack; tea, coffee, bread, butter, milk, local honey, marmalade and more! There were ten of us plus a toddler and there was plenty of space inside and out including a summer house and acres of garden. Highly recommend.”
“Start Bay Bungalows offer a wonderful self contained accommodation with exceptional views. We've stayed in three of the bungalows so far and have been delighted each visit. You can sit inside or on the patio and gaze out to sea or along the beach and adjoining Slapton Ley fresh water. Sunrise from Clifftop is amazing and you can hear the waves gently breaking from below and birdsong. And don't miss the sunset across the Ley from the nature reserve view point. The five bungalows are surrounded by a well maintained garden with a variety of tender plants such as the giant echiums, palms and pines that give a Mediterranean feel. A great place to escape from the hustle and bustle of the city and unwind. Torcross beach along with its pub and restaurants are only a few minutes walk via the coastal path. Or Beesands, with its superb fish restaurants is a 20 minute walk south along the cliff path to the right.”
“Blue Monkey is the perfect place for a family get-together: spacious, comfortable and well equipped. It's in a great location a stone's throw from the beach, with the coastal path nearby for scenic walks. Comms with manager Annabel were great, and there was a lovely welcome hamper to greet us. 10/10, would highly recommend!”
“The most beautiful hotel!! So welcoming and friendly. Amazing views. Petra, Martyn and Casper made us feel right at home and totally relaxed. We can’t recommend it enough. Our only regret is not booking to eat there. The food sounded amazing with a different choice each night. We wanted to visit Burgh Island and eat over there but wish we had stuck to the hotel for food. The breakfast was plentiful. They can’t do enough for you. Will definitely return. Thank you Petra and Martyn”
“An excellent stay with a beautiful view of the sea. I would definitely recommend for any couples or families that are looking for a stay away in one of the most beautiful parts of the UK. Karen was a fantastic host, check in and out was smooth and although made it clear she was available for anything, we didn’t need to contact her as everything was exactly as described. A beautiful, remote and peaceful home for our weekend away.”
“Private, member-owned time share club on the hill above Kingswear. Mix of apartment sizes, most with fantastic views over Dartmouth and the River Dart, including Britannia Naval College. Some onsite recreation and games facilities, a good base for exploring Devon & Cornwall or just a peaceful relaxing few days. We love it. I failed to add that the staff are fantastic too !!! Thanks all.”
“Fantastic little B&B, situated an easy walk outside of Princetown and within wonderfully picturesque farm buildings. Very comfortable lodgings (great bed!) and brilliant breakfast. House itself is a wonderful mix of styles and a whole lot of fun; hosts were fantastic (including the furry ones). Overall a brilliant stay, great location for visiting all parts of the moor and would definitely recommend it.”
“Phil and Jane couldn't have been more helpful and welcoming. It was a very wet day so I was very glad to reach the farmhouse. Wet gear was left over the AGA to dry and I made myself comfortable in my room. There is a communal room with kitchen available for guest use which was so useful. Variety of food to buy (honesty box) if you dont have anything with you which was really helpful. Breakfast was top notch. Highly recommend!”
“As usual a wonderful stay. Nothing is too much trouble for Debbie and Michael. Excellent breakfasts, very well appointed, comfortable rooms,we hope to return yet again.Thank you so much.”
“Perfect venue for large groups of friends or family! We stayed here in December 2021 for a long weekend before Christmas and it was amazing. Freya and her family made sure our stay was really enjoyable. The accommodation (split across two floors for large groups) was clean, cosy and had plenty of space for cooking and sitting down for dinner as a large group (14). All the bedrooms had plenty of space with separate bathrooms - the interior was beautiful. Our hosts decorated the venue for Christmas, which was a nice touch - all we had to do was buy a couple of tea lights to add to the Christmas feel! Salcombe centre is around a 20 min walk from the farm, perfect for a morning stroll and coffee. If you're lucky enough, you may get a visit from one of the three dogs patrolling the site - I have included an image of Mick Jagger! :) Would highly recommend and definitely visit again!”
