“Great cafe, fine fish and chips, good portion size, good service with food served in 10 minutes, and great value. Recommended”
“What a lovely tea room Delicious food and relaxed atmosphere Highly recommend for breakfast , lunch or just tea and cake .”
“Very good cakes and coffee with friendly staff. Thoroughly recommend.”
“I popped in while doing a job around the corner. I was greeted with a warm welcome from the staff and owner and the atmosphere immediately made me feel welcome. The full English breakfast that I ordered was spot on, delicious, well prepared, and clearly made with care. I was surprised by the excellent value for money. The portion sizes were very generous, ensuring that I left feeling completely satisfied. I enjoyed my visit and would happily return in the future. I will not hesitate to recommend the cafe to others who appreciate good food and a welcoming atmosphere.”
“Such a cool and uniquely set out cafe! It's really handy being next to the terminal as well because the coffee machines inside are horrific and you're basically paying the same price on their vending machines as you are to come in here. I got their caramel milkshake once as we came back from the mainland, and it was bigger than expected and really nice. My only possible complaint would be that there were chunks of fudge in it which ended up being wasted because they were too big to go up the straw, and being not at home, I didn't have a spoon at hand.”
“Very good food. Very kind and attentive service. I was with my family and everyone was very satisfied with everything!”
“Yummy sandwiches (shrimp is tastier than the crab) in a lovely garden setting. If the weather’s with you, order and pay at reception and they’ll bring your food to your picnic table”
“First visit - breakfast with a few people from work.. Excellent welcome was cheerful and welcoming.. service great with quick drinks whilst we waited for a latecomer. Breakfast was excellent all well cooked and fresh… 10/10 for the excellent quality sausages. Price fine for quality. First visit, but not the last.”
“Popped in with my family the other day. We are all Vegetarian and were well catered for. The Cafe is also dog friendly. Service was excellent and the food was quality. I will go again”
“I love this new cafe! Come here for your morning coffee and you shall not be disappointed! Bask in the sun at a lovely corner tucked away from the winds before you continue your sailing or paddleboarding journey to the quay!”
“What a lovely find. Food good priced and top quality. Highly recommended.”
“My wife and I spontaneously decided to have a look at Stones Cafe while looking for somewhere to eat. As you do, we looked at the menu prices outside first. We could certainly say the prices were reasonable. As soon as we entered, you were greeted with plenty of space, a well decorated cafe that was certainly clean. We made our way to the table of our choice and again looked over the menu. The breakfast choices were limited. However, this may not be a bad thing, as this generally does ensure that the less there is on the menu, the better quality it will be. Once my wife and I decided what to eat and drink, I made my way to the counter where I was greeted by a friendly server who assisted me with my choices. Once payment was made the drinks did not follow far behind which I took to the table. As my wife and I were chatting, the staff were doing some cleaning to ensure everything was at its best. This made us happy to see and you can tell that they care about the Cafe. Our food did not follow far behind and came to us within 15 minutes. We both ordered an English Breakfast and we are happy to say it was a well prepared and served breakfast. By no means was it greasy and nothing tasted as if it was frozen or had been sat there for a while. I would certainly come back here again and even bring my family.”
“Whilst out enjoying the day, popped head in to see if had to book. Currently taking walk-ins. Went for afternoon tea. Before ordering check tea menu. As could have of main list not just a basic tea. Pick your choice well, some interesting flavours. Minor issue, but well sorted by the staff at the time. A loverly time in there, will be back. Big thanks to Sarah whom looked after us today, on our first visit.”
“Local produce with a smile, every day of the week; what’s not to like about that! We spent four days in Compton so tried the cafe for breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea. It passed the test with flying colours! The cafe added a lovely flavour to the awesome West Sussex countryside… We’ll certainly be back….”
“I took 8 friends for brunch after my birthday the night before. Askews was brilliant. So friendly. Food was lovely. I had a big breakfast with "breakfast chips". Fabulous. They serve a wide variety of breakfast, brunch, lunch items, all really tasty. Great coffee. Highly recommended.”

“Ruby's tearoom is such a lovely happy place to go everyone can't do enough for their customers. Thank you so much for our delicious cheese straws I've just pick up, thank you for all the lovely food you serve, a very full menu and such a lovely relaxing tearoom to go.”
“If you ever in the area and in need of healthy lunch, tea break - this is your spot. Friendly staff and super fresh and tasty food. If you on the diet-avoid baked goods section (trust me it's for your own good). Otherwise-speak to staff for recommendations-they know their menu. You won't be disappointed.”
“First time here today and stumbled in after a long morning at QA. Loved the atmosphere, staff were lovely and welcoming and food was very tasty! Can't wait to come back.”
“Visit to Southsea for the weekend. Back to one of my old favourites for weekend brunch. There were no queues when we arrived at 9.30. The breakfast stack is always a good choice as you literally do not need anything else for the rest of the day! Good value for money and a nice cappuccino to finish off! Great views of the common when seated out in the glass extension.”
“The best granola I’ve ever had! Lovely service, tasty coffees, and a good spot to work from. Delicious cakes too. We’ll definitely be back to keep working our way through the menu”
“What a lovely place, just to sit and watch the world go by,with free parking, sea fishing, kids play area with paddling pool,.and a blue sea.”
“Lovely place and people. Breakfast was very nice, high quality food but rather pricey (£34 for two people) . The cakes there are delicious.”
“A cosy and surprisingly large 2-story cafe with lots of outside seating for the warm weather. Parking on the streets nearby. Generously proportioned sandwiches come with a really tasty salad. One bowl of pwefect chips as a side did the three of us. Too full to have cake but they looked nice. Fully dog friendly. Staff are friendly and helpful and service was very prompt.”
“Staying with friend from Bath for few days stay. Friend recommended this place for a spot of lunch. Menu choice really good. Light bites, afternoon teas, good selection of drinks etc. lovely places to sit inside and outside, nice and quiet. Friendly staff and informative too. Had delicious tuna mayo jacket potato and a cappuccino. Lovely little side salad with extra butter too for potato. Pricing v good. Will look forward to visiting again at some point. Thankyou”
“Went here for lunch recently. Absolutely gorgeous food. You have to go to the counter to order so bear this in mind. I would also recommend booking a table, this place gets super busy!”
“First time here and pleasently surprised. Really good food and very filling. We had the chicken sandwiches and the crab quiche. We didn't have to wait at all, and the staff were very polite and attentive. There are three seating areas and two inside and one outside. The one at the far back has a heater and is very nice and warm. The chairs have cushions on them n blankets, so if you're a bit chilling, you can get warm and feel cosy. These are nice touches, and I feel this does make it nicer than other places. They are not only making it look nicer but also thinking about customers who may feel the cold quicker than others like myself. We will definitely be going again.”
“Just had a group's Christmas dinner and it was amazing! Large portion of beautifully cooked food. Service was brilliant, staff were polite and courteous”
“Best coffee in England! My oat flat white always perfect! Thank you so much for your work, care and great service! See you soon”
“Great selection of coffees and paninis. The homemade cakes are delicious”
