“Love their sandwiches.never disappoint me.”
“We only enjoyed delicious coffee here, on this occasion. We plan, however, to go back. What a hidden gem of a place. Everything looked clean and fresh. Service was friendly and the decor funky. Surrounds stunning. Thank you.”
“Great coffee and nice food. Without doubt the best coffee chain outlet in Festival Place. The Peru blend is lovely. I like strong coffee so this is my 'go-to'.”
“Excellent little cafe plenty of parking as well and the staff are really friendly and helpful really good prices for coffee and food. Will be back soon. Really good when it comes to allergys and dietary requirements”
“Nice cafe, very friendly people. Good for children”
“Went Monday night for crib match. Doom Bar was an excellent pint/condition, as was Guinness. One alcohol free beer, bottled Heineken. Place was clean. Toilets clean/acceptable condition.”
“Such a lovely shop and team to match. A customer was so rude to the team this morning and they dealt with it so patiently and respectfully. How someone can get upset over a hot chocolate is beyond me! Fantastic shop, best coffee shop in Reading for me.”
“First time visiting this pub and considering its only a mile from my home I can't believe I've never been sooner. Service is very good and the staff extremely helpful and pleasant. The food is very good and good size portions. Can't wait for summer and see what the outside will be like.”
“Great place to go friendly helpfull staff great music and great larger and prices .”
“Such a warm welcome. From the outside it is deceiving but it turned out to be a lovely little pub on our doorstep. Little covered outdoor area at rear with heating and further grassy area too . Not a massive selection of beers but enough for my local . Great little find”
“A hidden gem! Even though it is classed as a casual dining pub, the quality of the food was impressive and the interior reminds of a high-end diner in London. Service was great and staff members were very helpful when it came to deciding what to eat. While we were waiting for our food we had the opportunity to have a walk around the restaurant which has a gallery of pictures depicting the village and the local landscapes. The duck leg ordered for a starter had a very good combination of flavors and herbs. The wine that was recommended to complement the steak was spot-on as well. After dinner we moved into the bar area where we could enjoy a live performance for some Friday night dancing and singing. Definitely would recommend visiting!”
“Really nice people, it's a pub, not a boutique pub, so it's not overpriced. You get friendly and professional service.”
“Me and my girlfriend decided we would try out the food in this fine establishment. We bought a drink at the bar then was taken to our seats to order food. It happened to be steak night and our waiter (Luke) was absolutely amazing, with good old British banter but also very professional. I always get a Rib/eye steak, but like recommended something else by like and I was not disappointed at all. My other half got fish and chips which was cooked to perfection, and oh my god the beef dripping chips are to die for! We will 100% be back, and give Luke a raise because he deserves one!!”
“This place is a little gem. Has lovely staff and great food- it’s definitely the best option coffee shop wise as well as nice lunch meals etc in Wallingford without a doubt. Even better that it’s not a chain. I’m a sucker for their coffee & cakes!! But don’t miss their lunch options either- these’s a reason this place is busy!”
“This place is absolutely delightful. I head down every month, if not every fortnight, for the Sunday roast. From when we first sit down to when we get home, me and my family are always going on and on about how much we love the experience! The accoutrements are hefty, the portions are perfected and the food itself is the kind of roast you'd dream of. Meal customisation is a breeze and the staff are perfect - me and my family have 'our server', and she treats us perfectly every time, though the same can be said for all of the staff! I'll be coming here as long as it's open. ♡”
“Royal Oak exceeded all expectations-fantastic food, warm and attentive service, and a cozy, welcoming atmosphere. Every detail was thoughtfully executed. A perfect spot for dining or drinks. Highly recommend and can’t wait to return. Truly a standout experience!”
“We have just had an excellent Sunday lunch at the Jekyll and Hyde. There is a good selection of roasts on the main menu and the roast beef with seasonal vegetables and Yorkshire pudding were all beautifully presented and expertly cooked. The staff were friendly and inviting and we had a really lovely visit. We will definitely recommend the Jekyll and Hyde to friends and family. Looking forward to returning soon and trying more of your expansive menu. Great value for money too!”
“An absolutely gorgeous pub! The food was excellent - everything tasted home made, whether it was or not. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because I had the pie with red cabbage and the red cabbage was far too sweet - the same for the gravy with the sausages and mash. Other than that, the best pub meal I've had in a long time and everyone else agreed.”
“I have been going to Malebon for, let's say decades now. The food has always been of the highest quality and so fresh. The prices never seem to increase, which is a miracle these days. There are so many things to recommend from the menu, but my personal favourites are the kofta wrap, available as a meal deal too. The mini half Marocain chicken, and the breakfast tagine are also fantastic. Plus their chips always taste like holiday chips, which is so amazing. Highly recommend visiting if you've never been. Keep going, keep this place here for many more years to come.”
“What a great pub. Jay and his staff work hard to make sure you have everything you need. Extremely helpful and friendly. Special thanks to Izzy with her bubbly personality, Martin in the kitchen and Harvey behind the bar. If you need a bit of fun try your luck at card bingo on Tuesdays and Thursdays. It gets everybody talking and cheering each other. Well done guys.”
“Another visit and delighted to see the venue has had a complete refit. Much lighter thought out and a more airy feel. Very welcoming. The tikka sea bass was gorgeous(I pinched a bit from my fellow diner) and my skewered chicken was very tasty accompanied but a very refreshing ginger ale and mint mocktail. All in all a lovely meal.”
“We dined here for Saturday lunch. Service was brilliant (thank you Bella) as was the tapas food we got- all lovely dishes. I also got sung to by the two chefs as it was my birthday treat. Thank you for going above and beyond to create a nice end to the meal and keeping in mind my dietary restrictions! Thanks so much again”
“We wanted somewhere casual but good to catch the match and have a proper meal. This pub delivered. Big screens, comfy ( new ) seating and plenty of choice. The steak I had was cooked just how I asked. And at the bar, cameron was on the ball, keeping drinks flowing and always with a friendly chat. Five stars from us.”
“Overnight stay. There dinner bed and breakfast offer was great value for money. As long as you know your going into an older building on busy road in the centre of the village you will be happy with the service and quality of food”
“An excellent place for decent cup of coffee and more. The service is fast, efficient and helpful female baristas make it a bit more likeable place to have a break.”
“Excellent coffee and great service. A special shout out to the Italian girl behind the counter. Her kindness, politeness and quality of coffee was outstanding, even if was served in a busy time of the day. I'd definitely recommend and come back.”
“I had a takeaway coffee and sausage bap both very nice there seems to be quite a lot of seating. Friendly staff and good service”

“I love this place. The food is ABSOLUTELY delicious. As a student you can swipe your card and use your meal plan points. But if you haven’t got one than you can also just pay and it’s around £8-9. Excluding drinks. On Mondays you get live music. It had a nice outdoor area as well. Amazing place to grab a bite and enjoy a pint in the outdoor area with your mates”
“Me and my uncle came here for a Sunday roast. Absolutely beautiful roast staff were very attentive. Atmosphere was lovely.”
