“Excellent location, very knowledgeable owner, excellent range of wines to try.”
“We have been a customer of Le Bon Vin for many years, it's a great place to visit where you can spend as little or as much time as you wish - ours is usually the latter..... They have a fabulous selection of wines and more and if required will always give advice and help with your choice, wouldn't go anywhere else. The Floc de Gascogne we bought for Christmas is excellent, a drink we hadn't tried before. Thank you Patrick for recommending it, we love it and sure will see you soon.”
“Brilliant place. Really good value and tastes so good! I had the seafood pasta and it was the best one I’ve had in a while with as much seafood as there were noodles. Great menu as well and bring your own wine deal. Will definitely come back x”
“Wide range of wine whisky and beers Almost all type of liquor and soft drinks”
“A great place to get all your alcohol needs. If they don't have it on display or in stock and it's available to them, they'll order it in for you.”
“It was a pleasure choosing some beers with the very knowledgeable (and very nice) chap running the shop. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”
“This was a recommendation from a friend and it was worth the hour and a half drive! The story I was told was that the chef was a Michelin star chef working in London, who was sick of the rat race and relocated to Matlock in Derbyshire. My partner and I opted for the 7 course taster menu and what a sensation that was. EVERY dish was an explosion in the mouth of complimentary flavours and textures. With the appetisers, the sour dough bread and the mous bouches , it turned out to be almost 10 courses. Just look at the photos! Unbelievable! The location is beautiful too. The outside terrace overlooks the river and the sounds of the water creates at truly romantic setting. The staff were excellent too and I’m surprised that Stones doesn’t already have a Michelin star! Out of this world and I would recommend everyone that likes food to try it! @ £80 per person, it is an absolute bargain. For food like this you would pay double that in London!”
“Great place to get local and artisan beers and other alcohol. This is the only place I know of for miles that sells mead!”
“Great inclusive space with great DJ sets. Worth a visit, you'll be pleasantly surprised”
“A Cozy Morning Breakfast. Visited on a snowy morning in 19November24. After driving from Manchester, my partner and I were starving, and this charming spot didn't disappoint. The staff were incredibly friendly, and I was impressed by how quickly our food arrived - definitely the fastest service I've experienced in a cafe. The coffee was excellent, and the cozy atmosphere made it perfect for a cold winter morning. Convenient parking just around the corner. Highly recommend for a quick, warm, and delicious breakfast!”
“Simply one of the best bottle shops and pubs I've been in. 20 lines of draft, 3 ciders, hundreds of bottles. Great snacks and crisps, reading material provided. Can't ask for more. Nigel and the team have made something really special, and I'm proud to call it my local!”
“Lovely little pub. So peacefully and if you go in summer and sit out it's so quiet and lovely,”
“We popped in for a bite to eat ans ended up ordering a full english as the vegetarian options were so good. The service was very attentive, personal and friendly. I would definitely recommend this as a place to grab a coffee or have lunch.”
“Food = BEER Only a 10 % Porter available so opted for old school BODDINGTONS - nice pint. Quite busy 8.30 pm on a Monday night.”
“Great pub, I was here with about 15 other lads on a stag do and we was made to feel very welcome. We drunk upstairs and stayed out of the way. When we came down we was served quickly and dealt with quickly. We found the locals to be very welcoming. Michelle and Ryan did everything they could to make us feel welcome and keep us as happy as we could. We’re from York and had a good craic with the locals about football without any trouble being caused. It was all banter. A great find of a pub that I’m happy I found, with a pool table and a dart board. Not many pubs have this. Keep doing the great job you are Michelle. Thank you for your custom.”
“Top shop very modern and clean and tidy got very nice people that work there got everything you want and very covid friendly. stay local that's what I think will be calling up later”
“Just so sorry we haven't been here before but what a superb establishment. Friendly, drinks spot on, and more than reasonable for prices. Lovely outside area too.”
“My wife and I went here on a recommendation, I'll be honest it's not the kind of pub I'd usually choose to go but on the way back home I was thinking maybe my usual place id go to isn't that good. The Black Market upon entering was extremely friendly, Dave behind the bar was lovely we had a talk about the craft beers and a giggle. My wife and I had a three course meal here, I had the Nacho's and my wife the garlic mushrooms, it absolutely wasn't what I was expecting. The Nacho's were for Nacho's amazing, the salsa was so fresh and zingy, my wife's garlic mushrooms were really saucy and garlicy (is that a word?) Big portion too. We then had the fish and chips, I have no problems saying this was one of the best if not the best fish and chips I've ever had (being a Norfolk local) I've had my fair share of good fresh fish and chips, the batter was fresh the cod was succulent and fresh. Was a great atmosphere, service was quick and the waitress was friendly and knowledgeable. Food was phenomenal This is a place in my humble opinion I would class as a hidden gem, I am doubting my usual technique for choosing where to eat, some of the best places I have eaten are buildings I usually would walk straight past whilst thinking god no. The food here is amazing, the atmosphere and locals here were extremely friendly and welcoming. If you're passing or local and wondering should I try it, absolutely do. Next time I am back in this area I definitely will. Nice craft beers too, also worth mentioning. A real credit to the village. 10/10 from me.”
“Went to get my licence, imagine my disappointment to find it's just a shop and I can't read”
“This pub was my second home whilst at uni and it was great to see on our latest visit that it has upgraded and updated and remains a great place for a drink and for watching sport. The beer garden is great for live events and would strongly recommend.”
“Quality pizza. I had the ortolona which is already vegetarian with eggplants as the main topping. Though I think fungi is a better option since its mushrooms were more spread out across the pizza, and the sauces better complimented mushroom. Sat downstairs around the bar. Didn't feel like any drinks but the same waiters kept coming back to ask about it. Had such a great time i forgot to take photos much.”
“Delicious burger and really friendly service. Went for the double burger and nearly didnt finish it! Will be visiting again!”
“A very cosy and inviting pub. Great service and good value. A good selection of drinks, and very well cooked food at a competitive price. The chips are the best I have ever tasted. I was spoilt for choice when looking through the menu, and there is something for all dietary requirements.”
“Finally found a proper pub in N Sheffield after 2 years living here. Lovely old building, great beers, really friendly locals and staff, family and dog friendly but well behaved kids and dogs! Cosy, charming, it had the soul and inclusive ambience that most boozers north of the city are really lacking. Food was well priced, didn’t blow me away but I think they were busy concentrating on the Sunday roasts. Would like to check out the pizzas in the future…. I just wish there were pubs like this (or any pubs!) around Wincobank. Please go in and support their business. Well done H&J, I will be back!”
“Lovely little pub that we stumbled across by accident, we will visit again when we are next in Worksop.”
“I often frequent this fine establishment and find it most welcoming,The staff are rather eccentric but this adds to the charm of the place. The beer garden also as parking for up to 12 mobility scooters and a large grassed area,Perfect if you fancy a little jog.”
“Fantastic little pub with traditional food and a reasonable selection of drinks. Food was amazing but could have done with a few more chips with my meal. Staff were knowledgeable and wonderfully helpful. Not the biggest pub but had quite a busy atmosphere. Toilets were lovely and clean. All in all a great place to stop for dinner or a cosy evening of drinks”
“A true gem of a traditional English pub! The warm and cozy atmosphere, complete with wooden beams, makes it the perfect spot to unwind. The staff were incredibly friendly, and the selection of ales and ciders was fantastic. Whether you're a local or just passing through, this pub is a must-visit for an authentic and welcoming experience!”
