“I had a wonderful day at Tittesworth visitor centre while my husband took part in an ultra marathon. The center was well-organized with very friendly staff. The food was good and the drinks were reasonably priced. There was ample parking and great accessibility for wheelchair users. The disabled toilet was a bit challenging to access due to the door, but it was clean. There were plenty of disabled parking spots close to the main paths. The paths around the lake were great for those with strollers and wheelchairs. They also offer trampers for hire if you want to relax and enjoy the stunning views.”
“A fantastic welcome. A must visit if you are Market Drayton. The food was delicious. We were there around one on Mothers day. Five of us had roast beef, and one had the roast chicken. Staff were friendly, attentive, and interested in you as a customer. We all had deserts, including apple crumble, cheese cake, and brownie. Craft Beer had a taste of more, and after a few scoops, we sensibly headed home. I will be visiting here again in the next few months. They are renovating across the car park a wooden structure that looks full of character.”
“We had a wonderful weekend with extended family staying in tents and safari lodges. The accommodation was fantastic, the lodges were luxurious, clean and spacious. The facilities were fabulous, particularly the biotop pool and the kids beach area. We had an age range of baby to 70s and there really was something for everyone. Plus all the staff were so helpful and nice, even collecting a birthday cake which had been incorrectly delivered for us. We will be back…highly recommended. Ty.”
“In need of a leg-stretch and letting Jabba have a run about, we stopped off here on our way to Devon. Some magnificent views, lots of routes to take and not tricky to park near to the entrance. Looks like there are some facilities closer to the lake, but we didn't get down to those bits.”
“We went for Sunday lunch. The service was good, the pub decor is really good and they have a good selection of cask ale. The food was great but a little disappointed that the veggie Sunday roast was just a mushroom…”
“One of the few traditional pubs, always good atmosphere , good choice of drinks , landlady very friendly”
“Great walk, posts with colour code walks to follow. Very peaceful.”
“Fantastic free place to visit and walk, always bump into dog walkers when we visit. It's great to give children freedom to run and let them choose the path of adventure. So lucky to have this not too far away from where we live. Another outdoor area of beauty free of charge with a place to park and good for runners too.”
“We come here regularly for an evening walk and to get my little lad out the house. It's got two lovely lakes to walk around and a great park. Multiple climbing frames, slides and it even has an accessible see-saw for wheelchair users. Parking is cheap.”
“We were passing and called in for Sunday lunch. The food was superb, well cooked, large portions, beautifully presented and for a very reasonable price. The staff were friendly and accommodating. We will definitely be back.”
“Called into the Oddies for a cheeky one. To find out they are having a mini refurb of the garden . New roof and floor on the Pergola with the fantastic addition of heating. My wife was so happy , a fatastic area outside to chill and chat with our friends , all while keeping warm for the nesh ones :-) We have visted on numerous occasions the food is exceptional , bar staff are very welcoming. This is a must visit for people new and old to the area.”
“Service has been amazing. Nice and cool on a hot day, thanks for that. Food has been very good. Cocktails varied and novel. Can see why it is busy, and why everyone has a smile in their face. Price is decent, probably on the slight higher side, but certainly worth it. I’m not from around here, but I’d come back if I was, and can see why the locals frequent here. A little treasure on the Staffordshire waterways!”
“My little one loves going here. They have a wonderful mix of farm animals, which you can feed (the animal food to cheap here compared to other places). They also offer lamb milk feeding which is so cute. They have a barn with cars and bits in, a lovely park and a woods to walk through which help to provide variety and extend you visit. The food and drink is good quality (they have a variety of home baked goods) and for low prices.”
“I visit Café on the Cop weekly to buy breakfast sandwiches for my office team. And I recently ordered some cupcakes from them for a corporate event. I ordered 24 vanilla cupcakes filled with jam, with a colourful rainbow theme. Safe to say we weren't disappointed, the cupcakes were delish and went down very well with everyone. Wish we'd ordered more! Thank you to the lovely ladies at Café on the Cop, I will definitely order cakes from you again for our next event.”
“This was a wonderful place for us 'old timers' to have a long overdue catch up. Each of us was delighted with our meal, friendly service, happy to let us tweak our menu choices a bit, great value for money. Two of us aren't likely to be in the area again but the other 2 will return with family. Highly recommended!”
“Lovely walk along canal very well looked after, lovely people to talk to and very dog friendly. Lovely place to sit and watch the barges going through the crossing.”
“So helpful and friendly, full of smiles. nothing is to much trouble and the rooms are lovely, beds very comfortable. Definitely worth the trip. Definitely go again”
“Beer always well served (every time we have visited), prices clearly displayed on a TV screen. Refurbished decor and plenty of real ale options available (black country and other breweries). Serves cobs and pork pies.”
“My fiancée and I called in for lunch ,very friendly and attentive staff and the food was excellent well worth five stars rating”
“Excellent chip shop, with super friendly staff. Had several visits here and tried many items on the menu. The fish and chips are second to none, fresh and plentiful. If you fancy something else, there is plenty”
“Pleasant place which I've visited since my childhood. It's gone a bit OTT by fencing you in now so you don't fall in, even though you can still do so a few yards up or down river - usual nonsense. However it's a timeless and relaxing set of locks which is fun to watch as boats transit up and down river.”
“Relationship lovely staff and customers are great welcome to new people/visitors.”
“Dining here with my two little daughters has been a wonderful experience! You get a lot of food for really reasonable prices, which is perfect for families. The food tastes fantastic—it's always fresh and full of flavor. The staff is friendly and attentive, making it an enjoyable outing for both adults and kids. Highly recommend if you're looking for great quality and value!"”
“Enjoyed a nice walk through the hills at this place - signposted slightly oddly from one direction as the sign is beyond the entrance, but we managed to find it in the end and walked to the top of the hill to be rewarded with an excellent view. There was one slightly odd track that took us down the back of people's gardens, was very overgrown and then got to a part that was completely blocked by one person's fence, so we had to turn around and go back. Not sure why the entrance to that is still available as I would've thought it'd be better to block that part as well, or at least put up a sign!”
“Amazing venue to hire for a party - highly recommend!”
“Jenny and Ben Smith Have good time all Party's we Have mite Fun with Special Friendship together Lovely People inside Jenny Smith”
“The Crossways Pub in Newcastle-under-Lyme is a charming local establishment that captures the essence of a traditional British pub. With its warm, inviting atmosphere and friendly staff, it quickly makes visitors feel at home. The pub offers a good selection of ales, beers, and spirits, catering to a variety of tastes. The food menu, featuring classic pub fare, is well-prepared and satisfying, making it a great spot for both a casual drink and a hearty meal. The decor is cozy and nostalgic, adding to the overall appeal. Occasionally, live music and events add to the vibrant community feel. However, it can get quite busy during peak times, which may affect service speed. Overall, the Crossways Pub is a delightful spot for both locals and visitors looking to enjoy a traditional pub experience.”
“Lovely place, good food excellent service nice surroundings.”
“Great food, good menu, easy parking, nice friendly staff, decent beers. What's not to like”
“Ordered again tonight and had a friendly chat as always not realising I have left a review in 8 years! Lovely family run business and the food has always been excellent with no cuts on quality. Always hot and delivered quickly. Should open a chain the future, you will do very well!”
