“We popped in unexpectedly one Saturday evening, craving a great burger and this place did not disappoint. The burgers were exactly what you’d hope for from a classic American diner—delicious and satisfying. However, what truly stood out was the exceptional service. The staff were attentive, went above and beyond and made it all seem effortless. Their warm hospitality made the experience even better. I’ve already recommended this place to many people and will definitely be back!”

Been going to this take-away for well over 10 years and not many beat its quality. Anything on the menu is great to get, I highly recommend their salted chilli chicken and beef & blackbean sauce. “We have now officially adopted The Poet as our wee “local”. We’ve called in a few times over this past year for a quick pint after a long day out with the kids and ordered a few starters & kids meals. Our most recent visits we’ve sat for longer and ordered 3 courses. Each time we’ve visited we haven’t had a reservation but the staff couldn’t have been more friendly or welcoming especially catering for three kids. It honestly has a great wee cozy vibe, it’s just nice to sit with a pint at the window and watch the world go by. The food is always incredible especially their wings, prawns pil pil and prawn cocktail (Sunday only for PC) we’ve had a variety from the menu and it has always been outstanding quality and generous portions. We’ve enjoyed their Roasts, fish and chips, pork belly and their chicken stack etc. Also, a variety of kids meals which went down a treat especially the kids pasta dish with garlic bread. Oh and that sticky toffee pudding is to die for, it’s amazing! Such an underrated wee place. Good atmosphere, great prices and superb food. Thoroughly enjoyed our random wee visits. Some of the nicest and friendliest staff. I cannot recommend The Poet enough.”

“Now choices chippy - Absolutely delicious! My partner had a pastie bap and said it was the best he’d tasted, I had the chicken & chip wrap. The chicken was lovely and crispy and the portion was huge. My eldest daughter had the kids nuggets & chips, which she said was lovely and the chips were really nice. My other daughter had a curry chip and said the curry was delicious. Friendly service from all staff members. We will definitely be back”

“My daughter's hen party had booked the karaoke room for 1.5hrs 2 jugs of cocktails supplied. Then upstairs for dinner, everything was perfect. The staff were so friendly and efficient. Fabulous night. Highly recommended.”

“A group of 12 had a Christmas feed here. Service was great and the food was so good. We all got the sharing platter which was sensational. Everything was cooked to perfection and very tasty. The ribs and chicken wings are fantastic. Great value for the amount of food you get. All washed down with beers and cocktails. You have to try the platter!!!”

We had a family dinner together in LeWinters...and there were no complaints...we each had something different, possible because the menu is so varied! Great place, great service and great prices! “First time ordering from Pizza Boss last nite and I highly recommend them. Pizza is amazingly good and among the best I've tasted. But they also get top marks as all their packaging is biodegradable: paper bags and cardboard containers, no plastic. So it's a great choice for the environmentally conscious diner.”

“Popped in yesterday on a Saturday morning with Carol my wife for brunch. We were not disappointed. I had Pig Pancakes and Carol had Apple Crumble , both were amazing , the black pudding scotch egg was the best scotch egg I've had in a long time. “I haven't been in the restaurant in 6 years+ as I have not been in the country; however, upon returning, I was met by the owner and a staff member when ordering for takeout. They were super friendly and even give free poppadom's and even rounded down the bill by a few pounds. Going back many years before that, I ate in with my friends one time, and the owner gave us free shots of alcohol after the bill was paid. The service is just great, and what I like in businesses. 100% recommend.”
