“The only way my experience would have been improved would be more time. There is so much to see and explore. Staff are very helpful, friendly and welcoming (thank you Kevin!). Buildings have been gathered and rebuilt on site to represent several periods of the Black Country's history. Victorian Era, 1930's and '40's, and into the '50's and '60's. The garage near the entrance has a grand collection of cars, trucks, motorcycles and more. I did have time for a glass of cider at Vaults in the Elephant & Castle. They have hands on workshops to make nails and Bricks. If you didn't already know, a lot of filming for the Peaky Blinders show has been done here. I imagine a fan of the show will recognize locations at the museum. Nov 26, 25 C&J”
“Excellent and well set out loved the prefab ( remember them in the late 60s) everything well set out and information well to hand ..Another piece of memorabilia was the show man's wagon and the huge collection of different types of phone boxes ,AA box's, RAC box's and other assorted items...Excellent..”
“Great day out for my birthday! We went not expecting much but it was a lovely small museum. We were able to make our own pen nibs included in the price of the ticket and we're gifted another functional one to take home. The shop had pens your could buy at very reasonable prices. Great for older and younger kids. 50% discount for art fund members (this is only £10 a year as a student)!!”
“One of the best buildings of BCU equipped with technology.”
“Very nice and cute museum about Tolkien's childhood and inspirations. I was very surprised to find out how rural Birmingham used to be!”
“Really great day out for all the family. Can get good discounts if you know where to look which makes it much more affordable. Loads to do. The outside water play part it especially brilliant for your kids. Planetarium comes at an extra cost but was good.”
“Looks like a great uni for medical students”
“I had a wonderful stay at this hotel and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area. From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel welcome with their warm hospitality and professional service. The rooms were clean, spacious, and well-equipped, providing a comfortable environment to relax after a long day. The location was excellent, close to major attractions yet peaceful enough for rest. Breakfast offered a good variety of tasty options, and the dining area was always neat. What impressed me most was the attention to detail and genuine care. Overall, a truly memorable and pleasant experience.”
“Great location within walking distance of the NIA with lots of restaurants and bars along the way. The hotel is clean and the staff were friendly and attentive. We were on the 14th floor so we had a good view from the window. Our room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The hot breakfast was very good and they had a vegetarian option too. The hotel was very busy but expected this being in the centre of Birmingham. Car park is a short walk (about 5 mins) from the hotel and we pre-booked this, which is advisable.”
“Went on Heritage week, booked tickets for talk and tour, excellent afternoon, had talk, hands on session and outside walk. Guide very informative and gave lots of info on history and archaeology of place”
“Attended a Church conference nearby and needed a last minute room after a late finish. The staff Luke and Paul made sure I felt safe on a Sunday evening in a city I didn't know. The rooms are clean and quiet. Breakfast had plenty of good options. Will recommend to those I travel with in the future.”
“Spot On. Clean, great room, comfy bed, great coffee machine, loved the style of the building and location. Coffee shop round the corner. Parking on the road outside. Checked in on my phone, even called the lift on my phone! 15 min walk from the utilita arena. 20 min walk into town. 10/10.”
“There’s much to be said about this stay, but I will try and keep it short. This is not the first time we’re staying here, and it’s become our preferred hotel, when we visit annually, all the way from Wales. It’s warm, nicely decorated and comfortable. Today however, the reception greeting was quite icy. We were 1/2 hour early for check-in, and the reception lady refused to consider early check in to avoid the crowds creating a bottleneck at 14:00. There’s something to be said about efficiency in process execution. If you allow early check in even if the room is still being prepared, keep the access card aside for collection at the appropriate time, avoiding queues and bottlenecks - basic Lean Six Sigma principles, leaving staff less stressed as well. On the other hand, what fabulous service from the catering staff, Joel and Ina!! I got what I ordered, a tasty steak and chips with mushroom sauce to die for, cooked to perfection! I was absolutely satisfied when I took my last bite, enjoying every mouth full. Ina even offered a steak knife without having to be asked, now that’s proactive thinking, much appreciated! And thanks to Joel for prepping the food, it was like tasting food from home, making me nostalgic. You guys make a mean team, thank you once again for excellent customer service xx”
“Great atmosphere, great service from our waiter Omer, very attentive, food was amazing, restaurant is stunning. Travelled from London on business but had to try Akbar's restaurant as was highly recommended. Definitely will be back.”
“Fizz pop did a party for our son and the very excellent Lydia did a fantastic job and the kids had a great time.”
“Just returned from a 1 night stay at this hotel and we are so impressed. I read reviews which made me so nervous but I wish I hadn’t have worried now. The location is perfect, staff were excellent, rooms were great and so clean. I would 100% return!”
“This is the second time I've stayed here and both times it was been really good. Staff are very friendly, rooms are clean and quiet at night. Breakfast was good too. There was some noise outside the hotel but that's to be expected in the city centre.”
“The room lighting could be better. Great location with a Toby just next door for dinner.”
“Top staff who sorted us out big time. I recommend this hotel for staying in brum especially if you want to be close to the nightlife! We saw Kendrick Lamar and they were brilliant late at night too!”
“"I stayed at this hotel and honestly, it exceeded my expectations. The rooms were spotless, comfortable, and very well maintained, giving a sense of luxury and peace. The service was simply outstanding – everything I needed was taken care of promptly and with a smile. The staff deserves a special mention for their warmth, professionalism, and willingness to go the extra mile to make guests feel at home. The overall atmosphere of the hotel was calm and welcoming, which made my stay even more enjoyable. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for comfort, cleanliness, and top-quality service."”
“I can’t recommend this firm highly enough. They supported me and my son through an incredibly challenging time with professionalism, compassion, and unwavering kindness. Their clear guidance and thorough communication made all the difference, and thanks to their tireless efforts, we achieved an outstanding outcome. I’m genuinely grateful for everything they’ve done for us.”
“The most authentic Greek food in Birmingham, visited today with my husband and the food was delicious, staff was lovely and really friendly (reminded me of off our authentic Greek hospitality) would definitely recommend to everyone. The lamb chops were juicy and delicious so was my medium mix gyros skepasti.”
“Had a wonderful experience at JQ Diamonds and had a gorgeous ring custom designed for my engagement ring. Sonu was really helpful through the whole process, explaining the costs of various diamonds and shapes and how we could meet our budget. All the other staff who helped on collection day were great also. Highly recommend!!”
