“We had a good experience at The Penny Black in Tamworth! After an afternoon of shopping, we popped in for a bite to eat and easily found a table and were quickly served at the bar. We enjoyed watching the football game while savoring two rare steaks cooked perfectly, a mixed grill, and three delicious fudge cakes. The food was served promptly and tasted great. I recommend this place for good food and efficient service.”

“Had need for a stopover in Tamworth for one night, and this was the cheapest available on booking.com. Decent sized room with ensuite, and every basic need for an overnight (kettle, TV, toiletries etc) There were no meal options at the time, but you're less than 10 minutes walk from the town centre, 5 minutes from a supermarket, and 10 minutes in the other direction from a pub that does good food at good prices (the Riftswood). There is a cafe (the kitchen) that does breakfast within 5 minutes drive. Apparently, some of the dearer rooms even have a jacuzzi bath. Highly recommended, and will certainly stop again if in the area. * It should be noted that at the time we stopped there appeared to be ongoing improvement works, but these did not impact us in any way.”

“This has to be the best theme park food we've ever had. The pizza was cooked to perfection. Not only did it look great, it tasted amazing too. Our daughter is normally very fussy about pizzas from restaurants, and she ate all but one piece all by herself. This will be our new go to place for food when at Drayton Manor Theme Park.”

“Cant fault this place, tried the new vegan menu and everything was the delicious. The mock meat chickn is next level. We tried the Kung Pao, Salt n Pepper, Lemon Honey. A secret little Gem. Spent like £60 and it fed 8 of us with next day leftovers. Banging plant based cuisine! Keep it up guys, we'll be back!”

“Great Breakfast, fantastic and warming reception from Kelly. Chef Dave attention to detail is fantastic. He was there making sure everyone had exactly what they needed and even helped us out with some more sausages Tyler actually made the experience really special he made sure we needed anything we needed was attended to! Will definitely be back! We had the all you can eat breakfast, which truly was great. Fresh bacon and sausage and black pudding that was cooked to perfection. Can’t understand the bad reviews, the place is a little gem!”

“Honestly, the best chow mein I have had for as long as I can remember. I had spring rolls, the char siu chow mein and satay sauce one night, the same except it was Singapore chow mein the next night and both were absolute prize winners. Each had the right balance of ingredients, plenty of meat and veg (no skimping there), with top quality ingredients also. The menu is amazing, meal deals, salt & pepper boxes, chips with chow mein & sauce meal deals etc. A well thought through menu + high quality ingredients + great portions........if Carlsberg made Chinese takeaways, this would be it! A-mazing, thank you Fortune Gardens. I'm going to miss this place as I was only visiting family.”

Kids chicken nuggets and chips, chicken burgers are so tasty. Amazing portions, great taste, brilliant customer service, most excellent delivery time. Would highly recommend for anyone in the Tamworth area.”
