“Great little pub, very busy but still a good vibe”

“Visited here tonight with some work friends for a Christmas meal - haven't been in the pub for a few years but impressed with the renovations. We all ate from the Christmas menu - the food was fantastic with all 3 courses. Tables around us were eating from the normal menu and what they had looked delicious. Great service from staff too. “One of the better Wetherspoons out there. Food is consistent, pleasant and well priced. It seems to be well managed; clean with incredibly friendly team and the kitchen appears to be well run. Table service is great and glassware is always quite clean. Quiet location, but nice; however it can be a struggle to park.”

“Amazing place. Too bad it is not advertised and the location is not exactly...central. Prices were a bit high for the location but they use home made, farm grown products. First place in Leeds I had real home made sausages. The ambient is warming and welcoming, plenty of space both indoor and outdoor.”

“We had a small family gathering for our sons 21st birthdays in the function room. Staff were very polite, helpfull and attentive. The buffet food served was absolutely delicious. Couldn’t recommend it more for a small function.”

“Great food as always. Parking is awkward here - well there is none. Perhaps a little bit geriatric in clientele but I'm one now sadly. Disappointing to see people drinking at 9am but it is their own grave they are digging and not mine - let them drink their lives away and good riddance. Lovely friendly staff. Recommended.”

“Came to Halifax for the day from a week's holiday in Hebden Bridge. Came for late lunch/early dinner and was pretty empty. A few of our party went for the 2 courses for £18 which was good value. We had the mozzarella sticks which are always a crowd pleaser. The beef tacos were really tasty with great crunch from the pomegranate seeds - a lot more filling than expected. The chicken fajitas were also full of flavour. Good pints of Sam Adams. We had a gluten free member and the staff were extremely accommodating (bringing the manager over to take their order specifically felt slightly too much but we understand why). Overall a really great meal, despite no tequila and it feeling like there was an earthquake every 5 mins (assuming the cinema was the culprit!).”

“Called without booking for a Sunday lunch today and wasn’t disappointed! They cater for those with a smaller appetite which is perfect for my elderly mother in law. The food was absolutely lovely and the portion size perfect. Highly recommend”

“Dear. Bowling Green Oltey, it's been a few years now, coming to weather spoon bowling green pub, 2-3times a week. Food is amazing chefs are nice and polite (Mickey) one of the chef from bowling green weather spoons pub. Nice and polite, smiling. The manager (Laura) polite, very helpful, most of the time very busy, working on almost everything serving, handing plates out, smiling very polite to us, every time we are there for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Lovely atmosphere, friendly service.”

“My wife and teenage daughters were based in Pudsey for 3 weeks as we were visiting from Australia to see family. We absolutely loved Spoons and the entire staff and community that frequented there. We were “frequent” visitors for meals and quiet late night drinks.The staff are 5 star. Thanks for a wonderful venue.”

“An amazing bar and place. It's such a shame to see idiots reviewing it based on people who don't like people smoking outside. (Oli) Which ironically isn't the bars fault. Don't like it go to one of your posh pubs. These types of people don't understand freedom. Are you having your meal outside spoons? No. Let them smoke away.”
