“Wally (18 month old welsh springer) has the best time on his runs, he knows all members of the team well now and he trusts them, being a more shy boy this is important. He had a difficult couple of teenagery hormonal months which we are through now but Charlotte and team were very patient with him and kept him under control we he was being particularly naughty whilst ensuring he got a good run and sniff in.”

“Jack and Gill is a wonderful setting. My daughter is thriving there. At her previous pre school she really struggled with socialising, crying at drop off etc, one month here and she runs in, can tell me all her friends names, staff names and animals. “I'm an ambulance driver for GOSH. Checked the night before to find a cafe for a quick coffee before picking up my patient, couldn't find anything suitable. Drove down early morning and saw this 'Burger Van' and stopped. This is actually a restaurant in a van. The young lady was so polite and friendly, I asked for a sausage sandwich and coffee. The choice between pork or Cumberland, white or brown, I've never been given that choice in any London cafe... Coffee was black, and you put your own sugar and milk in, which means I can make it to my taste.. The sandwich was great, coffee very good.. The price for both was excellent... Will definitely stop any time I'm near this place in the future.. Thank you....”

“Sometimes you walk in to a restaurant and you think... this is a restaurant. Other times you walk in and feel like you are in someone's home being served their best food. This is most definitely one of the best Italians, if not homely places I've visited in a long time From the moment you walk in, you are made to feel at home. Food was sensational, as was the service and decor. £5.70 for two bottles of Schweppes soda water for our wine was a little shock on the bill, I feel you could purchase soda siphons or a soda stream to offer this to guests at a lower price…baring in mind it is free in most establishments. Constructive, as we had a lush lunch with you regardless.”

“Love this place! It’s huge which means loads of choice for natural healthy dog treats and a large selection of nature’s menu frozen food which is good. I have yet to notice a brand sold by one of the larger pet chains that isn’t here and it’s all well priced too. Staff are also really nice. Only complaint would be all the dog snacks by the till, I’m like a kid at the corner shop, by the time they’ve finished ringing through what I picked up in the shop, I’ve added several more items from their till side selection!”

“What a fantastic little country pub. Food is absolutely delicious (particularly the roast tatties...!) Staff are very welcoming and friendly, Chris the landlord is a charmer such a nice chap, makes the pub feel like a home. Out of all the pubs in Alfriston, The Six Bells is by far the best and least pretentious. Proper English pub overlooking the church serving great food, beers, wines and spirits. Will definitely be back...!”
