“My partner and I took a chance and entered this venue which was surprisingly quiet. The menu had brunch items which were appealing. We chose our table, the decor was really cool, servers were exceptionally friendly and when the food came out, it was excellent. Reasonably priced and great quality. Served with a smile. Thanks guys and gals, a real pleasure.”
“Lovely location and good quality rooms. Great value. Breakfast was good. No bar and restaurants for lunch or evening meals at present. Self check in was online and a bit excessive but most of the questions can most likely be ignored.”
“Ever been to High Brooms? No, me neither. Until today. Sunday Roast tourism takes you all round the houses. Today’s pit stop the Leicester Arms. Tip of the day: Pay the taxi fare before you’re out of signal range. The pub sits slap bang in the middle of Penshurst. Albeit Penshurst is so small it doesn’t really have a start or an end. In essence you’re between Penshurst House and Gardens and the Post Office, and opposite the town hall. The building is rustic with a warm village feel both outside and inside. Staff friendly, good toilet artwork and whole rolls of bog paper rather than the stingy dispenser nonsense - always a plus. Anyway, the roast. Oval plates that lip up at the sides with gravy up to a circa 2mm waterline leaving the hull of the potatoes and vegetables submerged. Two hearty slices of juicy pink sirloin and a Yorkshire pudding athletically perched on top. If art exists to be appreciated ad infinitum this installation was ripped apart in minutes. Devoured. 90 mins of travelling and an eating time shorter than a F1 pit-stop. Worth the visit? 100%. Washed down with a brownie that was warm, satisfyingly sludgy and had a thick slate of white chocolate inside. Lovely surprise. The menu quoted £8.50 the bill read £10. No complaints though, I would have paid £11 for it. All in a good day out.”
“I love this place. My "go to"coffee shop. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. I have eaten here a couple of times and think the food is of a good quality and certainly value for money. Since writing this, it is closed for " refurbishment", but as that was 9 months ago, I have to accept that they have probably gone out of business. Very sad, but there are cafes galore in Hove.”
“Popped in for lunch after a lovely dog walk along the river. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. We chose two courses from the lunch menu which was absolutely divine. I would recommend the food as it was first class. Will be coming again soon.”
“I've been visiting Sky High Fish Bar since childhood, and it remains a standout. The family-run establishment is always welcoming, offering delicious food with impressive efficiency. It's also very affordable, especially compared to other fish and chip shops in the area. A large cod and chips costs just £10, which is fantastic value. The current staff are lovely and provide excellent service. I highly recommend Sky High Fish Bar.”
“Had a lovely evening at pizza express being served by the lovely Paulina! She was bubbly and attentive, helping us sort out issues with the app and so we were able to utilize the deals available. Manager Jim helped us out too, and was confident and reassured us we would get everything we wanted, and we did! Food was great, came out super speedy, thank you chefs!”
“They have an excellent Christmas menu selection. The roast turkey comes with all the trimmings. They have a good selection of Sussex wines and an adequate range of international wines - most of which are available by the glass in a range of glass sizes. We were served by Esme, who could not have been more attentive and helpful. The Sunday lunchtime crowd included several families and larger groups, resulting a lot of happy chattering. We appreciated their Christmas selection of cocktails and coffees.”
“Amazing experience at Cote Tunbridge Wells. Hosted my daughter’s 9th K Pop themed party upstairs in the private dining room - couldn’t fault it. Mocktails, amazing food, amazing atmosphere, amazing service. She has the best birthday ever, as did her friends. Cristina and the team are exceptional.”
“I was in Brighton for 9 days, and found myself returning to this lovely pub, 3 times! The food was so top notch tasty. Great vibe, friendly service, great gin selection. Attracts a nice crowd as well. If I lived here, it would be my local for sure!”
“I've really enjoyed all my visits to this cafe/restaurant, in Horam. As there's plenty of in door & out door seating. They offer an excellent selection of drinks, cake & desserts. It's also a nice place for a short stroll around their fishing ponds.”
“Had the most incredible lunch experience at due south a couple weeks ago. The staff was extremely welcoming, friendly and catered to our every need, the food was exceptional and the wine pairings really added to the experience, will definitely be returning for those gorgeous oysters. All in all would highly recommend!!”
“Beautiful place, vibes, food was excellent and really really reasonably priced. Would recommend the wraps and hot chocolate! Steph and Francesca made me feel very welcome, thanks you.”

“We love Ground, it's our favourite local coffee shop! The new location is great and the fact that they now do brunch is brilliant, we tried it for the first time today and the ultimate bacon butty is possibly the best bacon butty I've ever had. Coffee from Pharmacie Coffee Roasters is delicious and well prepared, and the staff here are always friendly. There aren't many places you can get coffee and brunch for £10. Just a lovely atmosphere, nice music and chilled vibes, a great coffee shop.”
“Food was lovely - great value for money, I also had my 2 year old with me, the cafe is very kid friendly which is brilliant! Staff were very friendly and welcoming, we will be back! xXx”
“Grabbed a cuppa tea it was £1.50! Perfect for a walk on the sea front to keep me warm. Coffee tasted nice, cappuccino was £3. The lady was really friendly. the cafe is a takeaway with 2 seats out the front. Also selling snacks, cold drinks, slushies and ice cream..”
“Fantastic corner store with a wide variety of fruit and vegetables which you cannot find in large supermarkets ,highly recommended”
“Lovely food, fast delivery. Helpful and polite staff.. I will definitely order again soon... 5☆☆☆☆☆”
“I stumbled across this gem of a pub in Brighton and couldn't be more impressed. The prices are genuinely some of the best you'll find in the area-great value without compromising on quality. Whether you're after a pint or a cocktail, everything is reasonably priced. What really sets this place apart, though, is the staff. Incredibly friendly, welcoming, and efficient from the moment you walk in. You never feel like you're waiting around, and there's always a warm, relaxed atmosphere. They strike that perfect balance between being professional and making you feel right at home. Highly recommend for a casual drink, a night out with friends, or even just a laidback afternoon. Will definitely be back!”
“The William the Fourth pub is a charming spot for a delicious meal. Our group enjoyed a feast of juicy burgers piled high with toppings, crispy chicken wings bursting with flavor, and chips cooked to perfection. But the food wasn't the only highlight of our visit. The pub itself has a warm and inviting atmosphere, with cozy corners and a welcoming vibe. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our meal. And as a bonus, they even have Blue Moon on tap! It's the perfect place to relax with friends or family over some great food and drinks.”
“Popped in there for a random drink on Thursday night what a Nice pub, Chilled environment and vibes! Georgia who was working was lovely too!.. Not sure what other whisky apart from Jack.d they have but will be back to find out!.”
“Went here for a lunch break after having a trip down memory lane. Had a shandy and some chips and my server Kelly was awesome. When I told her I had lived in the area 50 years ago she say right down and asked me to tell her everything The chips were delicious with vinegar ( not typically served in US) and the shandy was perfect (no one knows how to make one in LA) The rhubarb apple crumble was soso and may not have been homemade. I will try the Sticky toffee pudding next time. The venue was cute and they had a great outdoor sitting area and the people were really nice. I would go again and again.”
“What a great little find! We stumbled upon IL Bistro while looking for somewhere nice to have breakfast, and it did not disappoint. The setting was lovely, and we were lucky enough to enjoy the Mediterranean weather while sitting out on the terrace. If I were being critical, the service was a little slow—but it was busy, so that’s understandable. We had two fabulous meals, and both Abe and his young apprentice were the perfect hosts. The sausages and bacon were of very good quality. Well worth seeking out while wandering the lanes!”
“An incredible wing joint with some crazy delicious flavours and sauces. The burgers and wings are always perfect, great service and while food takes a little longer to get to you (it’s all made fresh to order) it’s so worth it! Great value and tasty!”
“Had a brilliant meal here today! You can’t beat the price and the burger quality was amazing, no processed rubbish. Hard to comment on service as you go in and order, bring your drink out and they bring food out later. Had to go back in for sauces. This place has been far better than some other ‘premium’ burger places I’ve been to. The £12 deal is certainly one I’ll return for!”
“Really great burger & chips. Service was absolutely lovely with super smiley & helpful chef / main guy. Didn’t expect it to be SO good. Will definitely return. Only tiny point was that the mayo wasn’t great… bit tasteless but minor point.”
“Been coming to this place for over 15 years never once had an issue. Also the bs reviews about that traditional paneer comes with cheese ignore them lol. 5/5 stars i honstely don't know how people can only give 4 stars the food is always hot, fresh and tasty.”
“Is this Brighton’s best kept secret? Hands down, the Charles Napier offers the best quiz night in Brighton. Taking place every Sunday night, quiz master David Potter throws out questions over a broad range of subjects that will have you wishing you had studied harder at school! Great, quirky pub too, with a warm welcome and fine selection of beers. Thoroughly recommended.”
“I came here during pride and the staff were amazing. So sweet and caring, everybody were in such great spirits and really welcomed in everybody and made them feel taken care of. The food was fresh and wonderfully crafted. I had the lucky catch which was calamari with fish & chips as well as mushy peas with a spin. I had some of their handcrafted nonalcoholic drinks. The passion fruit spritz & the ginger one were great. The alcoholic drinks looked great but I had to work later so we kept it PG. I enjoyed everything 10/10. They’re right by the beach as well so there was beautiful scenery all around.”
