“I was coming from a very long journey when I lost my water bottle on the way. I randomly went into White Lion and asked for a glass of tap water. The bartender kindly gave us iced tap water with a slice of lemon (probably noticing the tiredness on our faces), and we were expecting to be charged — but he said, “It’s on the house.” It was one of the nicest gestures a stranger has ever shown me.”

“What a gem this place is. We booked a table for our honeymoon and were treated like royalty. A front window table, and top notch service. Being Gluten Intolerant my menu had been marked specifically for my needs, and was given the utmost care and thoughtfulness. The olives to start were plump, garlicky and smokey. The food when it arrived was amazing. The ocean bream was crisp, and the samphire and saffron sauce just delicious. We literally mopped up our plates. The steak was tender, the the panne cotta and chocolate torte with poached plum just absolutely delicious. Amarelle who served us was sweet, knowledgeable, and attentive. What a lovely restaurant - a must visit.”

“I visited Loaf Café in Bristol and had such a lovely experience in Bristol. The service was excellent the waitress with red hair was especially kind and attentive, really making sure everything was just right. The food was reasonably priced and tasty, and the whole place had a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit! @fabukBITES”

“The port of call is a home away from home, a beautiful traditional pub at the top of whiteladies road near the Downs. Ross, Russ, and Josh always serve with a smile and a laugh. A great local, and a great pub just to pop in with visitors ⭐️ Nice mix of drinks, with some great real ales along the all important mix of local ciders. The Port does an amazing Sunday roast with all the veg and trimmings you could want - a great cauli-cheese and roasted root vegetables so good that I’ve just ordered them as a snack before. We love the regular pub quiz on Sundays at 8pm, which is just the right mix of challenging and fun! There's a great beer garden for the summer months.”

It’s clear to see why they have such wonderful reviews; when they serve incredible quality ingredients prepared expertly to create a delicious dish. The menu is concise and seasonal, featuring a selection of small plates and not so small plates. The wine list is comprehensive and very reasonably priced. “Found by accident but so happy we did! Perfect chai for a hot day teamed with a flaky well stuffed samosa! Also had a wrap which was delicious. Really great value for money and really tasty food! Definitely worth a visit! Note there is no seating but there are parks and benches near by!”

“Amazing stay, we absolutely loved everything about the kings arms. The setting is a beautiful little village and the building has a very interesting history, the rooms are amazing and super comfortable. The staff are friendly, marcos the owner was such a nice person. We got put into the bishops room for the night which was bigger than what we had booked. We then booked a table for food and drinks and it was all magnificent. We will definitely be planning a trip to stay here again.”

“We couldn't stay overnight but popped in for Breakfast at 7:30am on a Saturday as last time it was so good. It was a Brilliant Breakfast again. Full English for £10.90 (Dec 25) The quality, range and service were excellent. The Sausage was more than an inch in diameter as tasted gorgeous. Don't think we will be able to eat until tomorrow.”

“Have been going to this chip shop since it opened and have always been treated very by staff. Never had an issue with food served (sometimes very generous with the portions, what is never an issue as the food is gorgeous). Ordered last night and got a large rather than a small cheesy chips (again not the first time this has happened, and I'll always be humble about that). Overall, staff are lovely, shop is always delightfully warm or cold depending on the weather, food is always quick even when made to order!”
