“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I’ve been dining at Mina Lebanese Cuisine for over 25 years and it has consistently delivered top-notch food, presentation and service. On 8 November, our party of 23 gathered to celebrate my niece’s 50th birthday and everyone – from the children to the most discerning guest – was impressed. The star of the show? The food: beautifully presented, rich in flavour and reliably excellent. Booking ahead meant we could all pick our menus, which made the evening run smoothly. The service was exceptional from start to finish: friendly, attentive and genuinely hospitable. The fact the owner even has a French wine ready for me, knowing I prefer it, speaks volumes. Extra bonus: we were welcomed to bring our own birthday cake (and what a chocolate-tower it was!), and staff were only delighted to help make the moment special. “Right around the corner for our stay in Cardiff, we found this restaurant via Google Maps. It was a fantastic surprise. The interior was quiet, beautiful and had an excellent atmosphere. The staff was very friendly, personable and professional. We sampled a lot: hummus with pita bread, lamb, stew, chicken, beef, dolmeh (grape leaf wraps, I believe), doogh (a yogurt drink), mango drink and a Persian-made tea. The portions were very large and everything was delicious. We left with a very positive opinion of the restaurant; one of our best dining experiences in Cardiff.”

“My favourite restaurant in Cardiff! I’ve been multiple times and I love it more every time. The Satay chicken rice bowl is incredible, the chicken is so juicy and full of flavour. Staff are great and the general atmosphere is nice too. Little garden out the back in the summer. And it’s SO affordable!”

“Had a lovely experience at Vivo Latino!! Came on a Sunday afternoon and were greeted so nicely by the owner, who made us some lovely margaritas and advised us on what to eat. Service was quick and food was yummy. The enchiladas and quesadillas were great!!! The churros were also crispy, fresh, and light as they should be. So happy with our meal. Worth the stop if you’re in the neighborhood!”

“I had a really enjoyable meal here last Tuesday evening. We were sat upstairs and the decor is fairly low key. It’s not fancy but it doesn’t need to be. On the way in I noticed some bar tapas so when the menu came we started by ordering one of each of all of the meat ones and a vege one. They were delicious and well presented. We coupled this with some beer and wine. John, our waiter, was super friendly, helpful and knowledgable about the food and wine. Made us feel really welcome and was on hand through the meal when we wanted more. We then ordered a round of hot and cold tapas. The standouts were the chorizo which was sooo soft. The mushrooms were also immense. Loved them. Wanted more! All the dishes were great. The calamari’s was a little dry and maybe needed a dip with it but it was a small footnote. Really enjoyed the meal and would 100% go back again.”

“I’ve visited this Svago Italian once and I absolutely love the food at this place. I had the pasta with shaved nuts. I wasn’t too sure about them when I ordered them, however when I tasted them they were amazing. The service is also good, and the place is nice and cosy. The prices are fairly similar to other Italian restaurants and quantity is also good. I’m looking forward to my next visit here and it is one my favorite Cardiff Restaurants.”

“Good Italian home style cooking. The mushroom starter was soft and wonderfully seasoned. The cod was flaky in a delicate sauce. The home made Tiramisu was literally a melt in the mouth miracle. We sat outside and the whole time a waiter was outside watching to see if anyone needed anything.”

“Venue, food and staff are wonderful! Held a baby shower in the party room upstairs and was the perfect venue. We had the entire upstairs to ourselves with room to decorate, machine to play music, fridge to store food and drinks and terrace outside. We had a hot buffet with skewers for food and everyone complimented how amazing the food was. The staff were super attentive regularly checking we had everything we needed. “I loved this place. Amazing atmosphere with the duet on stage, from my understanding the duet seem to start at 8 clock in the evening. Service was fast and friendly. Food was stunning. The best part of the meal was the ribs tender fell straight off the bone. Recommend to anyone to go and try this place.”

“Delicious Greek food, located in the Cardiff market. We had Souvlaki in Psomaki rolls (instead of Pita). Great portion and very tasty. First time we've tried Psomaki and glad we did, even better than pita. Basically a toasted sub roll, but light and crispy. Staff friendly, and quick service, thank you!”

“Just had a meal with my family, i can say the food is lovely. The place is lovely too as you cannot see it from outside. Once you enter and look back of the place. Staff's are friendly too. Menus are more traditional than what we find on any other Turkish restaurants. The portion size is good too. I would recommend to try this place.”

“We visited as a large group to celebrate a birthday, and both the food and service were fantastic. The staff did an excellent job serving all 13 of us efficiently, and everyone’s steaks were cooked perfectly. The house wine was great value too. When it came to settle at the end, the bill didn’t clearly list each item, which made it a bit awkward to work out what everyone owed. I’m worried that the extra tip each of us contributed, may have been accidentally absorbed into the remaining balance for the person who paid last. I think due to this, we didn’t leave anything for the wonderful service. This was totally our fault! We will make up for it when we return as we’ll definitely be back!”

“We had our wedding celebration at The Athenian Tree in August 2025. The owners and staff were highly accommodating and went above and beyond ensuring our special day was the best ever. We had a small celebration with a total of 34 people. The food was great - traditional, delicious and very big portions! All our guests commented on how good the food was and how well the restaurant catered for our celebration. The owners were incredible hosts and kindly allowed us to rearrange the tables to create a better atmosphere for the guests ensuring that it felt like a celebration and not just an afternoon at a restaurant. The service was excellent! We would highly recommend The Athenian Tree for great Greek Food whether it is for a celebration, a meal out or even for a cosy take-away night in.”

“I recently had the pleasure of visiting Shish Mezze Charcoal in Weston-super-Mare, and it was an amazing experience from start to finish. I ordered a mixed kebab along with a selection of mezze, and everything was absolutely delicious. The meat was tender, juicy, and cooked to perfection over charcoal, giving it that authentic flavor you can’t easily find elsewhere. The mezze were fresh, full of flavor, and complemented the kebabs perfectly – you can really taste the quality in every bite. The atmosphere in the restaurant is warm and welcoming, and the staff are very friendly and attentive, making you feel comfortable straight away. It’s clear they really care about both their food and their customers. Another great thing is that they also offer a very convenient takeaway service. The food was well-packaged, still hot and fresh when I got home, which makes it perfect for enjoying the same restaurant-quality meal at home. “There was no more physical space in our stomachs. We tried everything from the Christmas Menu except "Pastrama de oaie." I came back on 26th to try it, but the shop was closed. Overall, I highly recommend it.”
