“Amazing food. Huge portions on the mains too! I’ve heard service can be a little chaotic but the quality of the food is really worth waiting for. No issues when we were there though. The Som Tam was delicious & it’s so hard to find a good Khao Soi in this country but she’s nailed it here. Lovely mango sticky rice to finish off too. Will defo be back next time I’m there.”

“What am amazing pleasant experience dining here was last night, the staff were so friendly, service was so good and the food was amazing. I went for the specials, an amazing burrata, pesto and cherry tomato dish for starters which is so so good. For main the special was a fish ravioli, the ravioli was made from black ink pasta and (normal) pasta so it was white on one side and black on the other, it was filled with sea bass and prawns and the fish sauce was amazing. Such a delicate dish. It's nice to dine somewhere where you get such good food and service and still get get a decent bottle of wine for under £23. (The expensive pallet was also catered for with an extensive wine list available). Thanks for making us feel so welcome, and a lovely evening.”

“Chicken Tikka Karahi was authentic. The chicken was well marinated meaning the flavours went inside the good quality meat and as a result it was very tender and moist. The spices were on point. The bindi was fresh and well cooked with onions, tomatoes and spices, so the vegetable was the right consistency, tender but not slimy. The rice was fluffy and delicate and the paratha mopped up the flavours. No alcohol which makes for a pleasant atmosphere although they will serve your own if you bring it, with no corkage charge. Highly recommend,”

“Nartnapa was a wonderful find! My friend and I were staying the night just next to the restaurant, at Sunny Lyn Holiday Park, while hiking the South West Coast Path. Having walked 20 miles that day, we didn't want to have to walk down (and up again) the big hill into Lynmouth, so we took a chance and popped our heads in at Nartnapa to see if they could fit us in for dinner that night. We were greeted with smiling faces and confirmation that they could seat us. The ambience was happy yet calm, with lots of other satisfied customers already enjoying their food. Our meals were delicious (prawn green curry and pad Thai), and the sticky toffee puddings afterwards really hit the spot. This restaurant is more than just "convenient if staying at Sunny Lyn" - it would be worth a special trip just to enjoy the menu and friendly service.”

“First time here and I had the pasta wheel beef ragu. The portion was very generous, the pasta cooked to perfection and the star was the beef ragu. Melt in your mouth meat, the sauce was rich and velvety. Best ragu I've ever had”

The service was fantastic and all staff were friendly and helpful throughout - it felt that everyone genuinely wanted us to have a good time and did everything they could to to achieve this! “Wandered by just after 5. Noticed this place had an "all you can eat buffet". Ordering three dishes at a time you are served very quickly. To begin I had California Maki which was lovely served with wasabi and ginger. Then miso soup which to be honest I didn't like the large slices of mushroom and tofu. The soup overall was tasty though. I finished round 1 with prawn and chicken yakisoba. This had a king prawn with several pieces of chicken and LOTS of noodles. Round 2 consisted of crispy chicken Maki and egg fried rice with charcoal grill chicken teriyaki which was absolutely delicious. Nice place, would visit again.”

“We have been going to the Shamrat now for over 10 years and it is by far the best. Do not let the area put you off!! The food is always amazing and the staff really make it even better. They will really look after you and meet any needs you have. We come here for any occasion and also often get a takeaway. Whenever eating in the take aways are constantly busy which shows really how good it is. They also do a Sunday buffet which is definitely great value for money!”

“We love it here. I have come to Ty Madeira for years. The Espetadas are the main event, always cooked perfectly. I think over the years I have had the Fish & Prawn, the Fillet of Beef, and the chicken. Always cooked to perfection. The battered cauliflower that comes with the meal is fantastic. Perfectly cooked, not oily, with a lovely flavor. The service is always fantastic, where the servers build a rapport with you and are happy to laugh and joke with you whilst being very attentive and not overbearing. A definite visit if you are visiting Cardiff.”

“I don't know why this place was recorded as permanently closed. I would be devastated if it was! So I reported this as incorrect, and now Google shows it as being open again. I've been coming here - with friends, colleagues and family for over 10 years. It's one of the few cafes who will happily swap something you don't like on the set menu, for something you do. If the owners are reading this - you'll hopefully know me, as I always have a large breakfast, and swap the black pudding for an extra hash brown. The staff are so lovely - especially Maria - so patient and calm even if a million things are happening at once. Amazing. The food is never swimming in grease - and it's never too dry - they cook bacon in a way that makes me drool and salivate with every bite! The whole plateful is just divine perfection. They seem to know exactly how I like my food (and that's always slightly overcooked). The coffee is pretty lush too - you don't get a skin on the top - it's a really nice blend. Oh - and the price is right too - I spent £13 on two meals and 3 cappuccinos. Look how much you get!!! But beware - this is a *very* popular cafe - if you don't time it right - you might have to wait for a table - but they'll squeeze you in somehow!”

“Great accommodation. On street parking. Which is hard to get in Cardiff. Apartment was lovely and clean and very spacious. Nice touch was proper milk to go with tea/coffee. Even had specialty tea. Before during and after communication from the hosts was excellent. Definitely a 5* rating from us. Only downside was the event we had booked to see Bute Park was cancelled due to flooding. But would definitely book to stay here again”

“Great place to moor when visiting the bay. The visitors berths are close to the clubhouse, with water available. Lovely staff in the yard and clubhouse...nothing was too much for them. Clean clubhouse with great views over the bay towards the barrage. Large shower area, with plentiful hot water. Since writing my review I have joined the club and am delighted to say that my comments about the staff are magnified...the bar and restaurant are excellent, with well presented and plentiful food available. The bar is well run and there is a good variety of drinks available. Outside the clubhouse is a good sized and well maintained carpark. One thing I've yet to mention is the fantastic view from the bar out over Cardiff Bay from Penarth and past the Barrier around to Cardiff. I've attached a video. The club is vibrant with a pleasant businesslike buzz and lots to interest everyone. For he sailor, there is the pleasure of having the availability of the Bay with its constant level of water if you just want to have a gentle sail, or out through the barrier into the channel for something more adventurous.”

“Came here with my parents for a social dining evening. The vibe was great, felt like an underground Spanish barn. We had lots of different food, my favourites were prawn bisque rice, Jamon Iberico, ox cheek and Cecina Caesar Will definitely be back”

“We visited Wed 22nd for a date night. It was sooo nice. The food was delicious, and the staff were great. One sauce top up was slow- But the staff had a difficult table next and the one girl said she was very new, to us so we appreciated them being under pressure. The table next to us were about 8 elderly people. They demanded quicker service as they were going to the theatre. They left saying they had waited 45 mins- They absolutely hadn’t, we were there before them and within 30 mins had ordered, and had drinks and starters. They ate all the bread (without covering any cost) then caused a scene leaving as their drinks were arriving. The staff dealt with it very well. The bourguignon was the nicest I’ve had, and my hubby demolished the mushroom side….. He doesn’t even like mushrooms! I must admit- If it hadn’t been for the Cardiff Devils discount we likely wouldn’t have visited- But we’ll definitely be back!”
