“Good selection of four rotating beers, plus a well stocked fridge. Also sells a wide variety of lilleys ciders and local gins. Located centrally in spondon right next to the bus stop. Serves small nibble by very friendly staff. Would highly recommend. We are here every week.”
“Great pub, good selection of drinks.”
“Awesome place. What's not to love. Great food, wine, ales, coffee and friendly staff.”
“Came in here Sunday night purely for the Toffanilla as I saw it on the Real Ale Finder app. Got speaking to the landlord about the porter and he told me the history behind it. Probably one of the best porter’s I’ve ever had. Exceptional. So glad I went. Lovely place and a lovely welcoming landlord. Will try and get back at the weekend, just for that porter!”
“My partner and I rang up to book a table late on bank holiday Sunday and luckily they squeezed us in. First time visiting and it is a lovely setting a small restaurant, it doesn't have much branding on the outside but looks like they have a lot of regulars! Staff were lovely prices were very reasonable and the food was lush! Good portion sizes too! My only quarrel is that the steak cheese burger I had said it was American cheese but it was more of a sauce (see in my photo) than a cheese slice which wasn't to my taste but that is more of a preference and just something I thought I'd make people aware of. Lovely restaurant!”
“Our wedding at Confessions was perfect for us. Hannah and her staff are amazing before during and after. Beautiful historic venue with character and charm. Their was nothing to much trouble from booking to after my wedding day. It was perfect. Thankyou to the Hannah and the confessions team for making our day perfect. Highly recommended if ya want a perferct wedding day”
“The Bridge Inn is an awesome place, located near the canals, it has an amazing view. The food is Italian. Today we had the Bridge Inn special which is fantastic. Really recommend this place.”
“We decided to go to Miller and Carter in Burton as a last minute spontaneous decision and we certainly did not regret it. The service was great with their servers paying real attention to your experience, the food was prepared perfectly to the point where nobody in our party spoke a word once it arrived and the atmosphere was welcoming and warm. This was our first time at a Miller and Carter despite always wanting to visit and it certainly won’t be our last. If you find yourself in Burton give this establishment a visit, you’ll be grateful that you did!”
“Thoroughly enjoyed food and drink at this establishment a few days ago. Great range of pies with choice of sides. Food tasted great and ample portions. Lovely, efficient staff.”
“This is a proper, authentic pub with loads of history related to the local brewery business. This is a must visit pub if you want to experience history and a great beer straight from the barrel.”

A very warm welcome from the moment we arrived and although it was very busy the service was friendly & efficient throughout the evening, nothing is too much trouble. The interior / decor / lighting are stylish and create a warm & relaxing atmosphere. The menu provides tempting choices & the meals never disappoint. “I come from Colorado in the States, the land of craft breweries. We literally are the top state for breweries in the US. For the last 30 years, since uni, I have been drinking microbrews. Shiny Tap is legit! I had the 4 Wood Cask Bitter. Absolutely brilliant. Smooth, easy drinking. Then had the Double Damson. If you aren't used to a sour, haven't had one, try it. Wow. Very impressed. Outdoor seating area is tops.”
“The White Hart is our favourite pub! Dave & Trudy are super attentive and go above and beyond for their customers. It’s got a great atmosphere, plenty of drink selection & also sausage rolls & cobs if you fancy a snack! There’s a pool table & a great darts set up with a cosy outdoor back yard area and a beer garden. Highly recommend. Thanks Dave & Trudy :)”

“Another great meal at The Holly Bush! We had the pulled beef pie and sausage and mash (a must! This pub is known for their homemade sausages for a reason!) Friendly service, great selection of beers and delicious food- we’ll be back”

“Great local beers and alcohol. Knowledgeable bar staff”
“Lovely place, took my nan, sister and mum for afternoon tea. Great food , lovely choice of sandwiches and cakes on two stands , big teapots of tea and you can have coffee too. I asked for gluten free bread which was no problem at all for them. The homemade scones were a massive hit with us all! I could of just had them , they were so good. Lovely atmosphere and great service, staff very friendly and nothing is to much bother. Worth a visit and good value for money for the afternoon tea.”
“Attended for a Wedding. Super layout. Staff so friendly. Meal was excellent.”
“This was our first visit and we were really impressed. Excellent pub interior and it has a really large beer garden and car park. Friendly staff and a great drink of Bass. On our visit, there was a food stall (some may call it a burger van) in the car park. Our three burgers and chips were excellent. We'll be back!”
“Favourite pub to visit after a Sunday walk around Calke Abbey. Always a fire in the grate on cold or chilly days. Dogs very welcome.”
