“I was there on Friday night. Very friendly and a fantastic atmosphere. Brilliant!”
“My first time here and it’s a really great and modern addition to Uttoxeter. Service was fab and food was really good. Please add the Chicken Milanese to the normal lunch menu! I’ll definitely be coming back.”
“Went there for Sunday lunch with the family. One dog, a toddler and a baby with 5 adults. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Food was great and the atmosphere was really nice. Seems to attract nice, unpretentious but intelligent customers. Definitely go back.”
“Met up with friends last Sunday as equal distance between us all. What a really charming local pub in a small village with great service and fantastic Sunday roasts! Loved my lamb roadt and others in the group loved their lamb, beef and vegan option Wellington roasts! Looking forward to going back!”
“What a fantastic pub! Really great service, Glenn asked what kind of beer I like and made suggestions based on my reply. The atmosphere was really friendly and though we are not local, only passing through we were made to feel very welcome by staff and customers alike.”
“Lovely large pub, very clean and tidy. Plenty of seating indoors and outside, and plenty of drink choices. This pub is very well known for keeping great beer so is a must for any ale drinkers, they've won many awards. It does get very busy especially at weekends, but has a lovely friendly atmosphere. I highly recommend a visit”
“Staff were very nice and food was amazing. Generous portions to say the least. Great atmosphere. Lovely place.”
“Stumbled across this in the middle of a spontaneous walk. Popped in for some pints and lunch and would certainly recommend. Prices are very reasonable for todays economic environment. But this wasn't at the detriment of quality. All the food we had was great. Again refreshing to see traditional boozers serving great meals at decent prices. Thank you.”
“Myself and my partner were travelling for a Rally and wanted to go up night before. I rang here and they said staying over in Motorhome wasn't a problem as long as we had a meal and drinks which wasn't a problem for us. Rang on the way on Thursday 29/05/2025 to confirm and was told maybe busy due to Classic car show which is held there on Thursday nights (but do ring to confirm this). But we were still welcome. The place as drove in was amazing with big lake view. We parked up and went in and was greeted by friendly, welcoming lovely staff and owners. James and his team really helpful and friendly. We bought drinks which was reasonably priced. We had the carvery which was absolutely amazing and so tasty and hot definitely worth the money. The place is so clean and tidy. The whole building inside and outside is lovely to look at. There is plenty of seating inside and outside with garden seating area overlooking the lake. Plenty of parking. The walk around the lake was nice and seeing all the ducks and Canadian geese. There is fishing allowed and rules which are in view. We are hoping to stop here again in few weeks. So if travelling and want to stop for night give them a ring. Cannot fault this place. Definitely going again and recommend. Reading the history of the building is interesting. Nice village to travel through. We woke to amazing view and so quiet in the night.. They also cater for various functions..”
“The Flowerpot is one of Derby’s gems. Fantastic live music in an intimate setting, with great sound and atmosphere every single night. The staff are genuinely friendly and welcoming, and the service is always quick despite how busy it gets. A brilliant range of beers on tap, plus good value for money. The crowd is lively but respectful, creating a great vibe whether you’re here for a gig or just a pint. Consistently an excellent night out – easily one of the best venues in Derby. I really hope they’ll consider creating more opportunities for private functions here as I can think of no better place to host a special occasion.”
“Brilliant real ale pub. 7 available. Drank Castlerock preservation ale mixed with North Riding barley wine. Absolutely fantastic. Happy Days.”
“Been there 3 times now and can say everytime I have gone the food has been amazing! I have been with company too. We've tried the pizza, burgers, hot honey chicken, beef stroganoff and all of it has tasted so good. The chef's are so talented. For the cost and for what it is, it's just presented perfectly to me. Keep going!”
“We hadn't visited for a few year's, but I used to bring my grandmother regularly for lunch before she went in a nursing home. Booking there today after her funeral was the perfect farewell. We booked a table for 7 people, we had a mixture of the main menu and the festive menu. The food was delicious, cooked perfectly and excellent value for money. It was a lovely atmosphere and we had the loveliest of servers. Thank you so much, we will make sure we return more often”
“Lovley cost pub and friendly staff. Food was beautiful and didn’t take too long to come out. Would definitely come again. Would love to try the Sunday lunch next time Thankyou”
“Always a great selection of ever changing real ales. All perfectly kept. Always something new on I've never heard of. Always a good few local ales on too. Great live music venue at weekends too! Friendly staff always helpful and smiling! Riverside location with large beer garden area. What is not to like? The perfect pub.”
“What a fantastic real ale pub with a great selection of beers, with a variety brewed on site, and all at a very reasonable price particularly if you’ve got a CAMRA membership. Tried several beers all of which were very tasty and exceptionally well kept. The pub has a traditional feel with several different rooms, and railway associated memorabilia. Staff were very welcoming and helpful with recommendations. Food is available although I only managed the delicious Cheese and Onion Cob. Well worth a visit and handy for both the railway and bus stations.”
“It's hard to pick a favourite pub in Derby, but the Furnace will always make the list. Great variety of beers, friendly staff, and the biggest pork pies I've ever seen in my life.”
“On a random trip to Derby we decided to eat lunch here. Great food for a good price. The portion size was good too! I would go again.”
“Wanted a dirty burger, this was the best option after some research as a tourist. Walked in, ordered on the screens, sat down and food was with me in less than 10 minutes. Friendly staff, clean restaurant with plenty of seating. 5* burger. Everything in the photo cost £21. Keep up the good work!”
“We absolutely adored this little gem the room was lovely and the staff were so helpful and lovely The food was delicious and a fantastic menu and lovely breakfast too The only thing I could recommend they do is put a mirror in the bedroom area of the family room”
“Lovely little place tucked away off the Main Street. The food was lovely, lamb and mint burger pictured. The staff were so friendly and accommodating.”
“Nice pub and food was amazing.Tried Texas chicken melt and chicken burger which were delightful. Lot of parking space. thanks to the staffs for their great service.”
“We took some friends here last night and had a really lovely meal - the scallop starter and halibut main course were particularly good and we thoroughly enjoyed our evening. Attentive staff and a nice atmosphere”
“We came to try the new menu and were not disappointed. The new management have done an excellent job, there was a lovely atmosphere and the restaurant looked beautiful. The food was amazing, and the staff couldn't do enough for us. Excellent value for for money, will definitely be back.”
“A Fantastic Dining Experience at The Queen’s Head We had a wonderful evening at The Queen’s Head. The pork tomahawk and sirloin steak were both cooked to perfection—tender, juicy, and packed with flavour. Paired with a lovely bottle of red wine, the meal was truly memorable. The service was friendly and attentive throughout, making us feel very welcome. Highly recommend for anyone looking for quality food and a warm atmosphere!”
“Exactly what a pub should be like in my opinion! Proper 'old school feel' with a fantastic beer selection. Not sure about food as I didn't ask...the crisps and nuts were good though...like I say old school!”
“Been coming to the pub for years and ever since Fiona has taken the pub over it had been booming. Great music playing with live music a lot of the time with James Bond playing on the tv which never goes amiss. So happy to see the pub thriving again it’s a great little place full of locals that will talk to anyone. Would deffo recommend!”
“Lovely little restaurant located in the heart of Burton upon Trent. The staff are polite and friendly and the prices (Lunch time menu) are inexpensive for a decent dish. I have been multiple times and it's been decent throughout. My only complaint is that the chicken pieces could be a little higher in quality overall. But that wouldn't stop me from going back again.”
“Absolutely excellent pub. Service really was first rate, Michelin star-like. Goats cheese starter was very fresh. Can’t go wrong with a pint of Marstons Pedigree. Two EV chargers in the car park.”
“Old school micro with nice beer range. One cask but great condition. Friendly welcoming host.”
