βMy partner and I rang up to book a table late on bank holiday Sunday and luckily they squeezed us in. First time visiting and it is a lovely setting a small restaurant, it doesn't have much branding on the outside but looks like they have a lot of regulars! Staff were lovely prices were very reasonable and the food was lush! Good portion sizes too! My only quarrel is that the steak cheese burger I had said it was American cheese but it was more of a sauce (see in my photo) than a cheese slice which wasn't to my taste but that is more of a preference and just something I thought I'd make people aware of. Lovely restaurant!β
βBeautiful place. And the cafe was lovely too. The staff were really nice and pleasant. Very nice place to have lunch. Highly recommend lakeside Bistro.β
βLovely quiet campsite. Goof for dogs. Clean shower building with laundry, dishwasher facilities. Clean campsite with large plots. Nice walk across the dam to the visitor centre.β
βAnother great visit to Nicco's, when you don't think it could ever get better it does. A great welcome and service by Ethan he really made the food experience amazing, being the first two people to try the new bottomless brunch menu. The quality of the food was immense and we can't wait for our next visit.β
βWe ordered big plate of different Indian dishes The Badshah Platter and we wasn't dissapointed at all. All food was tasty, especially masala chips and Malai Garlic Tikka bought me :) We had to wait around 30min to get food but we didnt feel that to be honest. Price was fair enough for 4 people. We didnt order any desserts as we were full. Definietly recommend this place, will back next time for sure.β

βIt's taken us ages to actually get round to booking a table but decided to take our friend here for his birthday. We were really impressed with the food and the service. I had a steak which was cooked perfectly and the chips and onion rings were amazing. The rest of the meals were great and it's a lovely atmosphere and the staff were lovely. To top it off they even brought out a surprise dessert with a candle on for the birthday boy. Thanks for a great meal.β
βIt felt like traveling in Thailand all over again. There was great food and amazing experience for me and my family. It was also very quit and peaceful. And it wasnβt expensive at all.β
βHave just returned from eating dinner at Eastern Spice. The food was absolutely beautiful, staff very attentive and I think it was v reasonably priced, Β£26 for poppadom/ pickle tray, pint of larger and a mixed Korai (chicken, lamb, king prawn, kebab) amd pilau rice. Can't recommend highly enough!β
βCame here for the first time tonight after the refurb, Finn is an asset to the team, he went above and beyond. Great at delegating professionally to make things run as effectively as possible! Only thing I would say is that the chips could be made more crispier as they were on the dryer side. I do hope Finn gets the recognition he deserves for providing excellent customer service.β

βGreat place for a pleasant walk. The flood prevention work is complete and everywhere looks very tidy. Places to exercise, walk your dog, running or just taking time to look at the wonderful River Derwent. Simply great. Enjoy.β
βWe booked last minute. What a lovely lively place. Caters for everyone, the food was excellent, the service first class and it was great value for money. We will definitely return.β
βCarsington Water truly exceeded our expectations during our recent bike ride around the reservoir. It's an absolutely superb destination for cyclists and nature lovers alike. The cycle pathways are exceptionally well maintained, providing a smooth and enjoyable ride throughout the entire loop. It's clear a lot of care goes into keeping them in top condition, making it accessible and pleasant for all skill levels. What truly sets Carsington Water apart are the stunning views that unfold as you pedal along. Every turn offers a new picturesque vista of the water and the surrounding Derbyshire countryside. We found ourselves frequently pausing just to take it all in. Conveniently, there are plenty of benches strategically placed along the route, which allowed us to stop, rest, and really soak up the beautiful surroundings without feeling rushed. If you're looking for a refreshing outdoor activity with breathtaking scenery and excellent facilities, a bike ride around Carsington Water is an absolute must. We had a brilliant time and can't wait to go back!β
βThere is a LONG drive to the entrance. Be sure that your GPS takes you to the correct one. Calke Abbey is maintained a bit differently from other National Trust Properties. The Trust chose not to try to bring it back to its original glory, but rather, to leave it in the condition in which it was received, which includes wings of rooms in disrepair. Tour is self guided but volunteers are frequent to offer explanations or answer questions. One of the unique holdings is a state bed made for King George I in 1715. The bed linens were found by the Trust rolled up in the basement. Since they were in perfect condition, the bed is set up as it would have been and preserved behind glass. Another was the caricature room whose walls were covered with humor satirical pictures. I found it to be quite entertaining. The dining room featured some outstanding decor, simply presented. The main entertaining room was filled with glass cabinets loaded with taxidermy. Not my favorite but that is how the family had left it to the Trust. One particular wing has rooms that are in complete disrepair with the ceilings falling, wall paper peeling, and loads of broken furniture haphazardly tossed in the room. Not at all what one would expect while walking through a National Trust Site. Calke Abbey is perfect example of a country estate that was barely held together in the 20th century. Many similar country houses did not survive to tell their story. We are National Trust members (via Royal Oak), so I cannot attest to the cost of entry. Parking lot was within easy walk of the entrance. No reservations were needed.β
βHad a wonderful experience celebrating Bon fire night with the children would definitely be returning next year lots of food variety very accessible and plenty of activities for all ages to joinβ
βOrdered double whopper meal, received a single whopper, Pavan the manager was very attentive and dealt with the issue immediately. Food well made, nice staff and quick service. Recommended!!!β
βSo came here in April 25 for a casual dinner to celebrate my wifeβs birthday. 4 year old daughter was in tow. The spring menu was Italian themed. I have to say that this is a proper gastro pub. The food is excellent. Really high quality and very very tasty. Portion size is good so you wonβt leave hungry. Expresso martinis are delicious as was the wine. As it was my wifeβs birthday they brought out a brownie and a candle and some ice cream for my daughter just so she wouldnβt feel left out. Luckily this is in vicinity and is out go to place when we want some decent food and a nice night out. Weβll be back.β
βOur number one choice for a Friday night treat, weβve been using βSteveβsβfor a number of years now and never had any reason to complain either with the service but more importantly, the quality of the food which as always been prepared to a high standard. Keep up the good work guys!β
βgreat campaign site. Well maintained and friendly staff. We were campaigning in front of the lake with electric hookup. This was our second time camping here. And we have booked again for next year at the same pitch. The amenities are great and all ways cleaner. A nice little shop as well. Very dog friendly. We can't wait for next year already.β
βAbsolutely excellent pub. Service really was first rate, Michelin star-like. Goats cheese starter was very fresh. Canβt go wrong with a pint of Marstons Pedigree. Two EV chargers in the car park.β
βLovely location, building and outdoor area. I used the car park whilst doing the Anchor Church Trail and popped in for a pint after. The service from James was superb, not just to me, but consistently from what I observed, Iβd say the best Iβve personally witnessed, kind & personable. Great pint as well, would recommend.β
βWe hired The Little Kitchen for our works Christmas night out, and Donna and her team never fail to impress. They are so friendly, welcoming, and genuinely canβt do enough for you. We had the turkey Christmas dinner, which was absolutely delicious β a proper home-cooked meal with plenty of veg options. The red cabbage was especially amazing! There were two dessert choices, and I went for the chocolate one, which was so nice. They even let us bring along our own silly team games, which was perfect for our very competitive group. This was our second year returning, and we honestly wouldnβt find anywhere better for quality food and such a warm, friendly atmosphere. Thank you once againβ
βGreat cosy traditional pub and restaurant. Food was beautiful with good table service. Must recommend the dessert lemon cheesecake, raspberry sorbet with scattered fresh raspberries. Divineβ
βOrdered a madras and in other places it can be made less than madras hot which im tired of explaining I can handle the spice. The Rivaj got it spot on and did not dilute the spice as requested but also kept the beautiful flavours coming through. Perfect balance.β
βBeautiful place! So, so beautiful! The wildlife is breathtaking! I donβt know who takes care of the gardens, but they are very beautiful! I was surprised to read that itβs part of the UNESCOβs heritage list. The mill building is so impressive too! It still looks well, but it might be better looked after. I would love visiting it inside. I loved the childrenβs enclosure too. There are toilets, parking and a cosy coffee shop. Everything you could need for a great family day!β
βBeautifully maintained sports ground and nature reserve with a walk along the Derwent River.β
βFood was unbelievable we got the thawa plater for 2, service from daz was second to none, best curry in warrington by far. See you soonβ
βVery nice park for both couples and families with plenty of activities like massive zip line, padelo boats, slides, a big paddling, poolcanoeing for kids and more. There's a Cafe for a quick drink or bite with plenty of seatings outside plus picnic tables all over the area.β
