“Met up with friends last Sunday as equal distance between us all. What a really charming local pub in a small village with great service and fantastic Sunday roasts! Loved my lamb roadt and others in the group loved their lamb, beef and vegan option Wellington roasts! Looking forward to going back!”

“Wanted a dirty burger, this was the best option after some research as a tourist. Walked in, ordered on the screens, sat down and food was with me in less than 10 minutes. Friendly staff, clean restaurant with plenty of seating. 5* burger. Everything in the photo cost £21. Keep up the good work!”

“Had a full breakfast cob with a black coffee. Both were delicious and for a great price. And they gave me a giant (and I mean giant) slab of cake for leaving a review. Will definitely come here again, and can't recommend highly enough, a real hidden gem of a cafe. The staff were really friendly and accommodating!”

“We recently had a large family Christmas meal at The Palfrey, and it was an excellent experience. The private room was beautifully arranged and provided a great atmosphere for our gathering. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made sure everything ran smoothly. The selection of craft beers was a real highlight, offering something for everyone. The food was very well prepared and full of flavour. The salmon was perfectly cooked, and the mussels were fresh and enjoyable. Every dish was clearly made with care, and the presentation was spot on. Overall, it was a fantastic venue for our family celebration. We’d definitely recommend The Palfrey for anyone looking for good food, great service, and a welcoming atmosphere.”

The pork tomahawk and sirloin steak were both cooked to perfection—tender, juicy, and packed with flavour. Paired with a lovely bottle of red wine, the meal was truly memorable. The service was friendly and attentive throughout, making us feel very welcome. Highly recommend for anyone looking for quality food and a warm atmosphere!”

“I dropped in to have a coffee, but on entering, smelling the food and having a sense of calm about the place, I decided to get a menu and have some breakfast. The menu is small but concise and doesn't attempt to be an "everything to everyone" type of eatery. I had the veggie breakfast and it was delicious. Hash browns were fluffy yet crisp on the outside and the whole meal went down nicely. Table service was good although I wasn't too sure whether you pay at the table or at the counter. Food is cooked from fresh and you can tell when it comes out. My only slight negative was I didn't like the butter/spread used on the toast but this is a very minor point. Would definitely visit again and would recommend to all to have a visit. Breakfast and coffee for under a tenner.”

“Went for lunch after visiting the Helios display at Kedleston Hall. Staff were friendly, helpful and attentive. The food was varied, hot and well presented. The dishes we had were nice and spicy too. Beer was good and the overall atmosphere was welcoming.”
