“Highly recommend. Brought my daughter to the zoo for her first birthday and visited the soft play while we were there. My daughter loved it. Very big with loads to get up to. Big slides and the baby area is brilliant as well. Very clean. The little cafe is good serves your normal food and it was served roasting hot. The floor however was very dirty, but to be expected when there’s loads of kids in and out. Plenty high chairs as well. Friendly staff. Also a very good price as well. I went during the week day at half past 3 and it was practically empty. Decent long sessions as well for the price.”

“Great leisure centre! I mainly use the gym which is very well equipped for most gym users needs (squat racks, Olympic bars/plates, adjustable benches, dumbbells up to 50 kg, treadmills, machines etc.). The staff are always very friendly, and helpful whenever you have a question.”

“Very well run, staff are very welcoming. It’s the parents who let it down! Three mums sitting inside the toddler area so other’s toddlers intimidated to play (plenty seating outside of same). Badly behaved children(bullying) completely ignored instead of putting a stop to it. Really like the quirky seating area and food and drink options are excellent.”

“Booked a 4 year old’s party here and was impressed with everything. Excellent staff who were great with the kids, they were on top of allergy requirements and they have a good softplay setup. Let us use our own playlist for the birthday party which the kids loved. Can see why this is so popular for birthday parties in the area. Will be back with the kids some time soon”

“I have been using Lasswade centre regularly for a few years now and I really enjoy it. The reception staff are lovely. Michelle’s aqua classes, step classes and weights classes are amazing. After years of failing at several exercises I’ve come to realise it’s not the class, it’s the instructor that makes all the difference and Michelle is amazing. She is encouraging, real and motivating, knowing the perfect balance when to give a gentle push to do better and giving praise when you get it right. Her sense of humour and her energy never fails to make us all smile. She provides a relaxed, fun and safe environment to work out in and makes us all feel included and part of her team. There is always good banter that even some lifeguards and members of the public can’t help but join in as they pass. Her classes are fun and extremely rewarding. As a bonus the gym is getting an upgrade this winter which is great!”

“Nice wee park, lovely place to enjoy the sun, I'm not sure if there's something everyone but me in loanhead knows but even in the sun the park is basically empty barring a couple of kids over in the kids area so you can get lots of peace and quiet”

“This next store is by far one of the best ones I have been in! Clothes for women, men & kids! A great home section from furniture, accessories, lighting, bathroom & kitchen ware! Also a Costa in store which is great as you need a break from shopping as stow is large”

“Amazing afternoon at Stramash with family and friends, including a 6year old, for whom it was her first experience. She’s hooked! She wanted to dance every dance, and loved dancing with ‘Santa’ (a look alike character). The music was brilliant! Can’t wait to return next year. Well done Stramash!”

My children love to be outside, and this is one of the few places they’re able to be outside as much as they want. They benefit from fresh air, being in nature, and learning about the natural world and how we affect it.”
