“Michael our server was a very nice lad, genuinely happy person with great service. Sometimes at TGIs kindness can seem fake, but his was genuine. We had a great time and the food was great, and super filling. We did wait slightly longer for the first drinks to arrive, but this may have been due to the restaurant having lots of people in, for a lunch time, it isn't usually that busy. The staff coped well though. I'd be happy to come back here again.”

“⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This was my very first stay at a Travelodge, and I can honestly say you’ve gained a new loyal customer! The room was spotlessly clean, fresh, and comfortable. The food and drinks were excellent, with a great variety and quality that really exceeded expectations. Every member of staff was polite, helpful, and welcoming, but I’d like to give a special mention to the supervisor (Michelle and Louise), who was truly exceptional. I have never met anyone so vibrant, cheerful, and genuinely passionate about their job. Their positivity was infectious — always ready with a smile, quick to help, and full of enthusiasm. They went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed, offered brilliant local recommendations, and even shared fascinating insights about Edinburgh and its history. It’s rare to come across someone who clearly takes such pride in their work and genuinely enjoys making guests feel at home. The supervisor is an absolute credit to Travelodge and made our stay unforgettable.”

“We stayed for 3 nights over the Christmas period. The breakfast was beautiful, the room was clean and had all the amenities needed with a really comfy bed and blackout curtains. Overall, the staff couldn’t have been more accommodating and helpful over our stay, always happy to have a chat and welcome guests in with a smile. Thank you Royal Terrace!!”

“First time here and it was superb. Service from Rory was above and beyond and the food was amazing. The view was stunning too. I’ve already recommended this place and shall be back. The one thing which let it down was the toilet. That was 2*.”

“I only saw this dance group at the start of their session, doing their warmup exercises, but I got some photos and was really impressed with their vibe -- as well as the dance itself. What makes groups like this appealing is how friendly they are and this lot seemed particularly welcoming. If I was living in Edinburgh I'd love to join them and learn this ancient dance from the Punjab. Although they teach Indian dance they all seem to be Scottish university students. I'm not sure if any of them are actually from India. I got their permission to take their photos and post them here, and I could feel a happy vibe when doing so. The building itself is ancient, well restored and impressive. Check out their website as they have other classes during the week. This review only refers to their Sunday class. “I love my ring! It's petite and pretty. The diamonds are high quality. The band is very thin but it works well with the setting. I am happy with my purchase. I ordered a second ring as well which I will give its own review as it is just as gorgeous.”

“I've stayed in many a travelodge around the club and im always happy with the service. This one was no exception, staff were friendly and helpful in every way. Comfortable bed ,clean and fresh room, shower was ok , bathroom was spotless. Tea and coffee was provided, just what you need after a journey. Parking was ok for quite a busy place. Starbucks next door is very handy. I will stay at this travelodge again.”

“For a 3* hotel we found this over & above our expectations. On arrival we were greeted by very pleasant and helpful staff. Underground car parking available at £15 which is ideal. Room was lovely & clean & warm, nice bathroom/shower. Breakfast was really good. Only 15 minute walk to Princes St etc. Well impressed.”

“Stayed in a private room which honestly was great. Reception very helpful when I arrived very early. The room was good and bed was comfy. Bathroom was good. Yes lots of noise from the alleyway outside but just wear ear plugs. Couldn't get much better for a location. And the price couldn't get much better at this time of year. Thanks!”

“Only stayed one night but it is a lovely family run hotel. Excellent customer service and friendly staff. We were able to leave our bags prior to check in and also departure. The location was excellent for getting to lots of famous spots. We didn’t have the breakfast so cannot comment on that. Rooms are a little dated in decor but clean and have everything you need.”
