“One of my favorite hotels I've stayed at! The room was so cozy and clean and I loved the privacy doors on the room and sliding wooden door for the window. The free mini bar was a nice touch as well as the champagne upon arrival, slippers and robes :) Only "downside" was that I wanted to stay in the room & relax instead of exploring. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, even after checkout they stored our bags for the day while we were in the city. Highly recommend.”

“The Royal Mile is an amazing place to visit in Scotland. Full of history, beautiful old buildings, and a great atmosphere. There are many shops, cafés, and historic attractions along the way. It’s a perfect place for walking, taking photos, and learning about Scottish culture. A must-visit place when you are in Edinburgh.”

“Royal Mile is the most popular street and it can be too crowded because it’s cultural history. The architecture of the buildings from medieval era to current is significant to Edinburgh historical background. There’s tons of restaurants, stores and most of tourist attractions is along the Royal Mile including St Giles and the Royal Castle.”

“I have lived in Saughton all my life and have been coming to this park since I was a child. I have never seen it so alive. It's beautiful to see so much care and development in this area. The cafe is great. The skate park is always bustling with people. It's just such a lovely place to be.”

“Lovely place to chill out enjoy beautiful surroundings and colourful gardens. You can have a walk, read a book enjoy a light lunch, take a seat view the water or Arthur's seat. Then go next door to Jock Tamsins garden as this has lovely flowers, fruit trees, views just as delightful . All free except lunch obviously.”

“Amazing island to walk out to at low tide. (I like to arrive 2 hours before low tide to give plenty time to cross and wander at a slow pace round the wartime batteries. The anti submarine structure is an interesting sight too”

“The Balmoral was an incredible hotel to stay at. The service was like no other. I unfortunately fell ill my second day into our trip and the hotel offers a service where a physician comes to the hotel to be checked out. This alone made me feel like I was being taken care of and I was appreciated as a guest. The staff was always so kind and cheerful. I am hoping to make my way back to Scotland so I can see more of this beautiful place!”

“The food was incredible, the service was very efficient and fast. The space was cosy and quaint. I ordered chicken chinese mushroom udon noodles with a fried egg and they were absolutely amazing, probably the best I have ever had. I was so impressed with the portion and it left me full for the rest of the day!”

“This garden has lovely scenery, under the Edinburgh castle. Come here for an escape from the city. It is well maintained and perfect for walks, and picnics. Lots of benches to sit and relax. There is a very good playground for the kids and a beautiful fountain”

“Wow.. where do you start when everything was just perfect? The restaurant is set in what originally was a fine house with high ceilings, beautiful ceiling cornices, and a twist of Scotland added to the lovely Chinese decor. Staff... wonderful, very attentive, and you can tell they are proud of what they do, and really made it a nice evening. Food... OMG, probably the best I have had, certainly cannot think of a better one. I can highly recommend the King Prawn Satay. Just perfect on the spice heat, and soo delicious. My wife said her beef Lar Chee was really good as well. This restaurant is certainly worth travelling for, can highly recommend this restaurant. Definitely a 5 * experience. I only added photos of our desserts.. photos wouldn't do the starters and mains any justice. Thank you Cool Jade !”

“Mohammed is a brilliant barber . With beards and hair . A real artist. I’ve been going there for years . Considering how good he is he’s super reasonably priced too In the past I paid 25 quid for a dodgy barber once and Mohammed even fixed his terrible work for me too ! Can’t recommend highly enough”

“This is a must see in Edinburgh - simply the best thing I’ve visited in years. £21 entry is hugely impressive value for a moment in history . We spent over 2 hours on the self guided tour which was excellent. Visiting the on board cafe too was really great. The employees there are a credit to the whole atmosphere and were so friendly. Lots of interest for everyone including kids with hoot stops on board with bits of uniform etc”

“I’m glad I did see the vaults as it is very interesting such things exist under the streets above. These tours were recommended on tik tok and this particular tour group seemed to be more enthusiastic/ entertaining from the things I’ve seen on tik tok, and that is exactly what we got, James, our guide was so enthusiastic and a nice guy, you could tell he likes his job and so it’s lovely to listen & learn about the vaults from him. We enjoyed the tour!”

“Stunning castle ruins. One of the best castles I've been to across the world, mostly because not much has been touched since it fell in ruin and none of the areas are blocked off or renovated. Don't expect anything special here, and honestly if you're in Edinburgh for a day or two there are plenty better places to see, but if you have the time it is definitely worth going for the ambiance of the place.”

“Beautiful park, great for kids and adults, bring some nuts as the resident squirrels eat them right out of your hand, The parking is free, disabled parking is next to the bandstand, drive through the first parking lot and follow the road through, You could also park in the main street and get access to the front entry of the park, just be mindful of any parking fees or time limits, it is easier to park in the parks, parking lot, There is an old church with an old cemetery, look up to the big square tower of the church and see king Bruce, carved at the top, im not entirely sure but there is a connection to robert the Bruce, from the cemetery the views are absolutely stunning u can see the 3 bridges over the firth of forth Next to this church is the ruins of dunfermline abbey its stunning i prefer ruins, it is free to visit both the church and abbey but for the Abbey they said u had to go online and book your ticket and show the arcade to the staff member You don't need to go into the Abbey grounds to appreciate it, u can look down on it from the cemetery, dogs are allowed into the Abbey but not the church, it is worth going into the church its beautiful beyond words inside A wander around to the glasshouse its full of exotic plants from around the world there is also formal gardens right next to the glasshouse, a bit further up the path heading towards the peacock cafe is a sunken Japanese garden it sadly is a bit over grown and the pagoda thing is falling to bits, its still worth going down there though, Near the cafe, which seemed popular on the day I visited, you will find the peacocks wandering around freely, so its best to keep your dog on a lead in this area, from the cafe its only a short walk back to your car, Overall this park is a must visit especially if you are a history enthusiast, all around the park is hidden remnants of historical buildings My only problem with this park is the chronic lack of signs telling you where to find certain areas, so its just a matter of wandering around until you stumble along something historical There are some pretty steep hills and steep paths made of rocks, but most of the main paths are in good condition but not really suitable for someone in a wheelchair There is an old train engine that kids can climb on, as well as a few large kids play parks There is loads of benches or grassy bits to stop and have a picnic, just keep an eye out for rogue squirrels they really aren't afraid of humans The park is big, around 75 acres if I remember but u can do a short or long walk depending on your fitness Stepping into this park feels like u have stepped back in time, u can feel and imagine how it was like back then, take your time and enjoy the atmosphere of this park xx”

“Arrive early! It says 15 mins but if you want to park your car and get your tickets you need longer for sure... great trip .. well run.. went to incholm island it was excellent... very windy be warned.... no commentary on boat but it's comfy and an enjoyable 45 min journey to the island and 45 mins back.. going under all 3 of the bridges... there is toilets and a cafe on board the boat.. also toilets on the island and a little shop... highly recommend”

“Honestly I loved this place. Taco Tuesday is half price tacos and for that I’ll be back. I had the halloumi tacos and thought they were delicious, crispy and tangy. My friend had the sweet potato with added beef, and the beef tacos and they were also very flavourful.”

“My first breakfast in Edinburgh was here, and it was absolutely delicious! I fell in love with every dish, and the latte was amazing. I highly recommend all the dishes. Some of the staff were Turkish, which was really helpful when it came to understanding which options were halal. As a Muslim, it felt very comfortable and welcoming. I’d definitely come back to this place on my next visit to Edinburgh!”

“Cute little cafe, had a delicious breakfast, the Brie and blackberry toast and cheese toast were nice. My only criticism would be that they only have scrambled eggs option, some variety and a nice runny egg would have been the cherry on top of the cake. Excellent attentive and prompt service, our waitress Chloe was amazing. From the moment you walk in you feel seen, everyone in the shop greets with a smile. Highly recommend”

“Truly a hidden gem! Kind staff and superior-quality food at very reasonable prices. I've had an egg roll twice and it was to die for! I think they use prime quality ingredients, the bread roll itself was so soft and tasty. Unfortunately not dog friendly (I think because they are within a larger premise), but they do takeaway from the back (it's not signposted, just walk to the back of the building and you'll find a desk with a bell to ring staff and a menu, there is also a nice garden with some benches). So really an amazing spot to stop by after a long walk on the beach!”

“Had a great experience with them. We found a very rare bottle of the best whiskey I've ever tasted (not telling until the world actually runs out) and worked out some complicated shipping arrangements that required them to stay a bit later than their official hours. I couldn’t be more satisfied with their selection or their service. Highly recommended for anyone looking for any kind of whiskey but especially to people looking for the stuff you usually can't find in ordinary shops.”
