“Stayed for one night - was good for a small trip. Room was clean to a certain extent. Bathroom was a bit dirty but nothing too bad. Lights in bathroom were very dull and flickering. Bed was very comfortable. Overall a good hotel to stay - location was great, right next to a bus stop. Definitely would recommend. Great value for price.”

“We've let from this agency for almost 2 years and they have always been helpful and responsive. Whenever we needed to get something fixed, they got to it right away. Some people perhaps have felt the attitude is rude because they forget the agency has to deal with many flats, and often with tenants that are very rude themselves. All in all I would say one of the best agencies in town!”

    Britannia Hotel Edinburgh

    ★★★☆☆ 2.8 (3,672 Reviews) Open

“I’m a uni student studying in London, on a two-day solo trip to Edinburgh. I originally booked a 4-bed dorm in a hostel for two nights (£15 a night), but had to cancel the second night—there was someone coughing loudly, another person praying at 5 AM, and the lockers didn’t lock. I ended up booking this hotel last minute the next morning (£45 a night). I was so pleasantly surprised and comfy after checking in! I’d been dreading it because of the bad Google reviews, especially since I got the cheapest basement room with no windows. But it was quiet, spotlessly clean, and the front desk staff were really helpful. First big plus: 24-hour reception. I looked at other places around the same price, but they were all Airbnbs/homestays that needed a confirmed check-in time upfront. As a solo traveler, I had no idea what time I’d roll in, so 24-hour reception was a total lifesaver. Second win: location. It’s right near the Water of Leith Weir, and only 2km from the Castle—an easy 30-minute walk for me. Half the walk’s through leafy residential areas with loads of churches, the other half along busy roads leading to Princes Street. Getting to see two totally different vibes on my way back to the hotel was such a nice touch. All in all, even the cheapest room here is miles better than the hostel. 100% a 5-star rating from me!”

“We just had our dog Bow’s very first trip to the vet, and it couldn’t have gone better! From the moment we walked in, everyone made her feel comfortable and welcome. The vet was incredibly kind and gentle, making sure Bow had plenty of tasty treats throughout the check-up (which she definitely enjoyed!). They even mentioned they’d put it in her notes that she’s a fan of treats — such a cute personal touch! The vet took the time to explain everything clearly and gave us great information about Bow’s health. We were so happy to hear them comment on how beautiful she is and what great shape she’s in. It’s so reassuring to know she’s in such good hands. All in all, it was such a positive and reassuring experience for both Bow and us — we couldn’t have asked for a better start to her vet visits! Thanks again to Vet, Megan”

It’s a quaint and minimalistic bistro, and it feels quite intimate. We went with 2 courses, starting with the haggis canapé, then the salmon tartlet and lettuce as our starters.
