“Best bacon rolls in Leith! Plus the owners are the loveliest people.”
“We visited as a family of 6, ranging in age from 2-70. The park was suitable for everybody to visit. We went for refreshments (overpriced) in a nice cafe onsite. We went on the train round the park, which was good fun and informative. We fed the animals, who are quite tame and interested in people (lovely). We used the trampoline, soft play, go-carts, log swing, sand pit, family bikes, musical forest, big chair and gift shop. The weather was nice and the overall day was very enjoyable”
“Amazing day out for all the family. Best zoo we have been too. Loads to see, food vans located around the park which is great and it's actually decently priced too and great quality. There are loads of great animals to see and definitely could spend an entire day there. We all had the best day. Would definitely come back again.”
“If you have kids or tou are adults and wanted to explore a good amount of animals this is the ideal location. Good parking and it's better to prebook jist in case. You have animals from insects, snow leopards to farm animals. It's a good interaction time for your toddles as well.”
“Amazing farm in the middle of the woods. Lovely place for a day out with the kids. Lots of farm animals, a lot of nature to enjoy walking around, A new playground, a café, toilets, and picnic tables, some of them prepared to make a BBQ. We loved it! It's for free, only £2 for the parking”
“Very lovely experience, good number of animals and birds, happy to handfeed and pet some of them! Don't miss Benny and one more dog, cute furry lives”

“We had a very lovely visit here tonight. The restaurant is lovely inside and smells delicious. Rukhma served us mostly, who has great customer service and is very friendly alongside her colleagues. We had starters and a main and the food was excellent. Very impressed and will definitely be back. Highly recommend.”
“Our kids had the best day! The staff were great with them and very patient. Brilliant day out - will definitely be back!”
“Very nice staff and good prodcuts. For a quick coffee . Loved it. Um”
“Fantastic park. When you're traipsing around the city all day looking at monuments and have a tired little person, they just want to play! This park is the perfect relaxing spot. Tables, green space, ample equipment, toilets. Ticks all the boxes.”
“Wonderful Andy gold worthy exhibition. Great themes of life death impermanence and so on.”
“Beautiful house with very informative volunteer staff in each main room.”
“Best night out ever in Edinburgh. Amazing musicians! Has its own unique vibe”
“Great spot for a Parkrun on a Saturday at 9:30am, keep in mind the triple loop. The boardwalk by the pond is a special feature of the park. Picnic benches and casual benches are scattered around the park. It's a kid friendly place to kick a football or take the baby for a walk in a buggy. Don't forget to stop off at the playground.”
“A hidden gem just outside the city! We recently visited Braidburn Valley Park and absolutely loved it. It’s a peaceful, green space with a beautifully flowing small canal that adds to the calm atmosphere. Just 15–20 minutes from Edinburgh city centre, it’s a perfect spot to relax, clear your mind, and enjoy some fresh air away from the hustle and bustle. Ideal for a quiet walk or a short escape into nature. Highly recommended!”
“The waterfalls is lovely. There is a beautiful walkway along the Almond river, took it and reached the beach. It's a perfect short walk!”
“Small lighthouse at the entrance to Newhaven Harbour on the Firth of Forth. Made from cast iron and finished in 1878, it was decommissioned in 1942. There is no entry for visitors, but Forth Ports have relit it with coloured lights, which makes for a pleasant spectacle.”
“Really good pizza and so many vegan options! We recommend the vegan parmigiana!”
“Great Neapolitan pizza, menu with pizza rossa and bianca, house recommended pizzas, and specials on the day. Simple selecting of popular beers and red/white house wine. Drinks and pizzas arrived in minutes, great flavours on amazing bases. Would certainly visit again, looks good for two but also larger groups.”
“Great food and nice hosts! Very friendly, attentive and interested in their clients. The atmosphere is really relaxed and it's very good that restaurant and Shisha Bar are strictly separated from each other.”
“First time here and I'm so pleased with the food and service! We were unaware that they had a limited menu for lunch, so we chose from what was available. Yet, the service size and flavors did not disappoint! My husband and I both chose the same dish. I can’t eat potatoes and asked if they could change them for one of the side dishes, and they did at no extra charge. I was very pleased with the flavors, my husband too, and the overall experience. The prices are very reasonable! The building inside is pretty with some rock walls (they seem to be real rocks) and they simple yet nice decoration. The two boys working today were very attentive and always checking that things were okay. They advised my husband on a drink he wanted to have, too. We would be happy to go back when in Edinburgh again. We would try to go for dinner, though, so we could try different dishes.”
“The terrine was delicious. The steak with pepper sauce was really good. The chicken breast was pretty plain but the blue cheese sauce was delicious. House wine is good. Service was excellent. It’s a small cramped space - just like a Paris bistro should be!”
“Another fabulous meal at Bodega. The wings are potentially the best we’ve ever had and the flavours in all the sauces and seasonings are on point and delicious. The fish dishes need improvement would be my only feedback. But the meal overall, service, drinks and atmosphere are excellent. (I am coeliac and can confirm it is a safe gf eating venue) Thank you, team at Bodega!”
“The best real whisky bar in Edinburgh as far as we're concerned. The tap beer selection is also incredibly varied, leading to some difficult order decisions! Been coming here for all least 15 years, and it just gets better and better. Dog friendly, which wasn't as common back in the day. The staff fussed over our elderly pug, which was lovely. We will keep coming back!”
“A gorgeous and quiet bar with exceptionally kind staff who were happy to walk us through their wine and whisky lists. A great spot to try some local whisky and a nice range of wines, with some great food too. Would really recommend stopping by and asking lots about the menus. We learned a lot about the local distilleries and the history behind various whiskies. The staff were lovely!”
“A lovely cosy pub off the main road, hidden down a little alley way. We loved it here, the staff were very knowledgeable about the beers, and more than happy to help my partner out with his drink choice. The atmosphere was great, as the bar staff were chatty towards everyone and extremely polite. It’s an old school type of pub, with a cosy fire too. We loved it here!”
“We told some of our friends that we wanted to try good haggis, and this was a recommendation. It tends to get busy after lunch and into dinner so I recommend you make reservations. The staff is incredibly helpful and can answer any questions about the menu and great drinks. The food was incredibly flavorful and filling.”
“A must-visit for a fun and memorable experience! Each floor is filled with incredible optical illusions that kept us entertained and amazed the whole way through. We had a great time exploring all the interactive exhibits. The Camera Obscura itself was fascinating—both fun to watch and interesting to learn about its history. And the view from the rooftop is absolutely stunning, offering one of the best panoramas of Edinburgh. A fantastic place for all ages!”
