“Not sure what the historical significance of the wall is, but you have a great view of the Edinburgh castle along this stretch of road.”
“Great little hiking trail next to the river. Beautiful old buildings along the hike.”
“Dene Guest House was wonderful. Besides the place being immaculate, Hamish and his amazing Spanish wife were extremely friendly and accommodating. We stayed 5 nights and enjoyed the quiet and tranquility of the neighborhood. The shared bathroom was never a problem - we almost never had to wait. As budget travelers, we highly appreciated the free cereal, coffee and fridge available to us. Would definitely return.”
“Absolutely loved my time here and only moved out so I could be close to work otherwise I would have definitely stayed longer! The team were really friendly and welcoming! And I really felt at home and well looked after. The building itself was really nice, and it was great having a gym. It was always easy to order food and deliveries straight to your door. The apartments were quite cozy inside, well done up and lots of storage space too, and I loved the little water of leith river runs that were on the doorstep! Thanks for having me Kingsford team! :)”
“Lovely place the toys outside for the kids to play with the dogs and being able to sit outside with my family was so relaxing and the staff where very friendly and the coffee and treats where great too will definitely come back.”
“We order from here a lot. Fantastic place with an excellent menu and very tasty, fresh food. Would highly recommend!”
“One of the best nature reserves in Edinburgh. Big diversity, from mossy rainforest-type trees, evergreens, conifers, ivy, and more. Great for hill walking.”
“For this restaurant only being open a week, it is already running incredibly smoothly. Was no issues at all with me being gluten free and the gluten free bread they had was delicious. All the food was incredible, I mean gluten free tagliatelle how many restaurants go to that effort. The service was amazing, nothing was too much trouble. I'd highly recommend giving this place a try you will not be disappointed, make sure you go hungry as you'll most definitely want 3 courses. Drinks were superb as well, perfect for a special occasion or date night.”
“Took my three year old for a haircut on the way to the beach when our original appointment was cancelled last minute. The guys are brilliant. Gave Tom a fabulous haircut (proof attached) and in record speed too with no nonsense. Worth every penny. Will be back and cannot recommend enough!”
“Great selection of liquids. Guy behind the counter was great help think his name was Gale. Very friendly guy great representation for the shop.”
“Had a brilliant experience in Phase Eight today. I hate shopping for clothes but I needed an outfit for my upcoming wedding and Lisa was amazing. She helped me match dress, shoes, bag etc and was extremely helpful and didn't realise until the last minute that it was for my wedding and not just as a guest”
“Such a lovely shop, Kieran was super knowledgeable and eager to help us find exactly the right whiskey. Has a great selection of local Scottish brands and single cask runs. Would definitely go back!”
“I popped in with a broken clasp on my necklace and they fixed it there and then on the spot. Chisholm & Hunter had quoted me £25 deposit plus £45 to fix it and a 6-week wait, so I’m really glad I came here instead. Sorry I didn’t get the lady’s name who service me today, but she was very friendly and professional. Highly recommend!”
“We did one of the boat tours - 1 hour around two islands- and it was fun. My 3 kids liked it. Watch for bird poop! Crazy amount of birds in early July”
“Park with childrens play area free parking and toilets. Theres a scenic coastal walk to Dysart and easy access to imposing Ravenscraig Castle”
“Park has had a major uplift. Kids love the swing park. Dog walkers love it as it's all flat. The coffee cabin a must for a coffee they even have water bowls for the dogs. If owner gets their way a lot more to come. Looking forward to next walk”
“I love to visit Sumo. The food is always delicious, and everything feels authentically Japanese. I dine here often, and this is a personal favourite of mine. I would say I can recommend trying the Eel and Sake.”
“This place is fantastic!!! Take away the view, and it’s a fantastic pub/restaurant. The menu is to die for and the beers are incredible! Best place I’ve ever eaten! Then add that view back in and I want to move in and live here and eat this food forever!!!!! THE STAFF ARE THE NICEST PEOPLE!!!! and have made us feel so welcome!!!”
“A landmark public swimming facility, originally built for the 1970 Commonwealth Games and recently refurbished. Its distinctive brutalist architecture houses an Olympic-length pool and diving facilities, representing a commitment to public sport and modernist civic design in Edinburgh.”
“Excellent pub and stunning food!!! My husband loved the black pudding on a salad. I loved the soup so much. We will def come here again when we come back.”
“Really enjoyed this spot! Found it on a Google map search while we were in the area. The BLT and Calamari sandwiches were delicious. Would highly recommend this place for a quick and cheap but tasty dinner! Visited from Canada by the way and we’ll be back next time we’re in Edinburgh.”
“We booked for Tuesday but meant to book Wednesday and didn't realise this until we turned up on Wednesday. Staff initially said there was no space as they were fully booked but after a rethink they were able to fit us in despite us being on the wrong day. Excellent service and saved a very expensive disappointing mistake since our parents were up visiting. Drinks were good too and it was a nice unique experience to be able to mix your own ingredients yourself rather than being served it. We also added a round of bubblers and shots to the end of our booking which I felt were reasonably priced for what we got. We didn't have food but someone else had a afternoon tea on another table which looked nice.”
“Great venue for the fringe! Can easily spend here the whole day - plenty of options for food, drinks & great show… and a short walk from the Royal Mile. My first show was ‘In Loyal Company’ - highly recommended!”
“super theatre, nice bar and great show. staff were all very friendly”
“It was a really good way to spend an hour. There are different floors set in different time periods of the building with guides on each floor giving a bit of history. You can touch most things and I got to try on the bonnets which is a nice touch. There are even costumes for adults and children to try out. And the ceiling they uncovered during restoration looks amazing and very detailed.”
“The only food available is crisps, nuts, bacon or scampi fries and the recently added jar of pickled eggs. There are a couple of fast food places adjacent if you're hungry though. Nice selection of beers and ales and a few rums alongside a staggering selection of whiskys. The staff are very friendly and happy to recommend a whisky to suit your taste. The music is a nice addition and not demanding of your attention. Great place to strike up conversation with friends you haven't met yet. It's definitely on my list of places I'd happily revisit.”
“My daughter and I went on the 3-Day Loch Ness & Isle of Skye Tour from Edinburgh, with Tiegan as our guide and driver. The seats in the van are super comfortable, and the large windows let you really take in the view while Tiegan managed the driving and told us about where we were going, as well as interesting stories and local legends. The countryside is beautiful, and the roads are small and windy, so it was great to have an experienced and safe driver navigating the roads, while we just relaxed and admired the scenery. She drove us along, and we had many chances to stop and hike, get a bite to eat, use the restroom, etc. It was really relaxing and all us riders were able to completely enjoy and appreciate the places we visited without having to worry about travel routes, timing to reach destinations, etc. And there were many stops in the 3 days of the tour! I couldn’t have planned a better tour! It was perfect! Thanks to our wonderful guide, Tiegan! I’m the kind of person who usually plans my own trips out, but I did not know much about Scotland, and the cost of this tour was just a little bit more than if I had booked my own hotel stays for the 2 nights, so we decided to book this tour. I am so glad we did! I highly recommend this tour! I could not have seen or learned anywhere near as much on my own.”
“Ive been before and the pizza always hits the stop. Seasonal beer are always fresh and interesting and a must get. Perfect place to watch the rugby and enjoy some good beer and food.”
“A lovely play park to keep most ages entertained. It has an accessible swing, although this does require the user to be able to be lifted into the swing, with optional chest plate for security. The additional advantage being a Scottish water tap at the entrance.”
“Beautiful green place with the Water of Leith path and river. Great for any kind of activity as well as for relaxation and pleasure; dog walking, bird watching etc. Lovely. Absolutely lovely!”
