“The team here are what makes this Starbucks extra special. I've actually never been a fan of Starbucks until I visited this one. Such a lovely bunch of ladies! Alexis is a ray of sunshine and knows my order before I ask. Leonie and Caitlin are cheery, chatty and helpful, they have converted me to the esresso blend and are even nice enough to grind the beans. Always a lovely place to stop, good coffee, great chat and good vibes.”

“Just wanted to say how lovely the girls serving me were. Didn’t catch their names but it was around 12.30 on December 9th. So lovely and cheerful even though it was very busy. Very great coffee too! Hope their manager sees this and lets them know how good a job they’re doing!”

“This is a bigger Starbucks than you will normally find. The entry level, just off the Royal Mile, has the drink and food counters. Upstairs is a really big, well lit, seating area, where you can enjoy your caffeine. The seating does tend to fill up during the breakfast and lunch rush hours.”

“Makes me really sad to see the recent reviews - it’s my local and I couldn’t rate it more highly - are we really basing our satisfaction based on how much a woman smiles? The food is great, the shop is a treasure trove of delicious food and wine. So happy to have it on my doorstep - smiles or not”

“Would just like to mention Emma (Breahead Cafe) who was absolutely brilliant today. Dealt with large crowds of customers for a good while and made it looks easy!. Quick Calm and kept everything in motion. If I ran a cafe she would be in charge.”

“I just passed my driving test and decided to celebrate with a visit to my regular Starbucks drive-through — and what a heartwarming surprise I got! One of the lovely team members (she had beautiful braids — I didn’t quite catch her name!) noticed I had just passed, and went out of her way to make me a wee celebration bag with cake pops that said “congrats” on them. It absolutely made my day and meant more to me than she probably realises. That kind of thoughtful gesture is so rare and so appreciated. I visit this Starbucks regularly and have never had a bad experience. The staff are always friendly, kind, and welcoming, but this moment really stood out — it turned a great day into a truly special one. Thank you so much to her and the whole team — you made me feel seen, and I’ll never forget it!”

“The guest house and hospitality was first class. The room was cosy, spacious, clean and inviting. It has a period style to it, gorgeous. The surroundings are well presented. Little personal touches were added which was much appreciated, small snacks for the evening. Nothing was a problem and I felt completely at home. My breakfast of Greek yoghurt, jam, bread were all home made and the eggs came from their own chickens. Lady Jane and Lord Westerlea are lovely, friendly, great conversationalists and very welcoming. I can not fault my stay at all. Many thanks a delightful stay”

“More of a take out than sit in perhaps, but all the usual features and the same great drinks. Plenary of space for a wheelchair, but today I managed with my sticks and the seating is either very low or perch on a bar stool. Staff seemed helpful and polite and makes it good place to sit and stare out at the busy world.”

    Costa Coffee

“****** I’ve seen comments about car parking fines, but I think they’re unfair. There are clear signs in the car park and inside the store explaining the policy: if you’re planning to stay for more than 90 minutes, just pop your registration into the tablet provided, and you can stay as long as you like. Simple and hassle-free! It’s also important to note that Costa Coffee doesn’t own or manage the car park. What’s more, these fines are not council or police-enforced. If you receive letters stating you have a fine, it’s worth knowing they cannot legally force you to pay. So blaming them for parking fines just isn’t right at all. Additionally, it’s not Costa’s responsibility to manage YOUR car—that’s on you. The signs are there, and taking notice of them is your responsibility. Passing the blame because you didn’t pay attention isn’t fair. Let’s focus on what Costa does best: yummy coffee, great service, and a friendly atmosphere. They deserve recognition for that, not criticism for something outside their control. ******”
