“Wonderful experience. Nice staff, welcoming as well, the café was a nice moment while we waited for the tour. It deserved a visit to have knowledge of Alexander Thomson and all his buildings around Glasgow. Just I personally don't think it is a good choice to create a rivalry with Mackintosh during the video. It's a totally different era, Thomson is one of the expressions of the New Classical style in 1850. Mackintosh started the 1900 with a real new style. Glasgow and his rich history deserve a common commitment.”

“Gorgeous coffee shop! Let's start with the customer service, fantastic, 10/10 no notes, such friendly staff. I love that they have three different roasts for the coffee, it's hard to find places that do light roasts and this one tastes divine. The shot was also pulled perfectly because I could taste the coffee despite it being a mocha. The milk was also perfectly steamed, and latte art with soy milk? These barista's are good at their job. I do wish they had a few more gluten free options, but the lemon cake they have is really good. My partner highly enjoyed her vegan breakfast sandwich as well”

“Great place to study and relax. Very friendly staff and the first place I've seen that charges the same price for any size of tea :)(why charge for more water?) Lucky enough to stumble upon it on a Wednesday, where my chocolate muffin was only a £1 extra ontop of my drink, a bargain compared to other high street coffee shops. Would love to see an app for the stamp cards as I'm always losing them and hoping that they do benefits for bring your own mug.”

“Quirky, different and comfortable. The Bullands is like visiting a friend house for coffee or lunch. The food is excellent, the portions are generous and the service is friendly and attentive. We have been there as a couple and as a large group, easily accommodated and unrushed chats! We are regulars now and couldn't think of going to a chain coffee shop when in Milngavie!”

“Despite the fact I have lived in and around Larkhall for many years, this is the first time I have visited Maggie's. We only popped in for a coffee as we were waiting for the train but decided to have a bite to eat and I wasn't expecting much as it looked old fashioned . Anyway we had lentil and butterbean soup and a roll and scrambled egg, both delirious. Tea coffee and scone were also nice. It's an old style coffee shop but very nice and price was reasonable.”

“Just stopped for a quick coffee on our break. Really nice and specious area and it was much quieter than the one inside the mall. Coffee was lovely as always, staff friendly, and also it was pretty entertaining as they put music on so was nice to listen some good old tunes.”

“I went there on Sunday morning for a coffee break and have some relax. The cappuccino was nice and well presented, the cake tasty and the person who served us was smiling and polite: a good experience! I don’t know exactly how it works (It’s my first time with Costa), but for people who go frequently there should be a red card (I see two people using the Costa Card at the cash).”

“It’s a Costa, what’s not to like. Plenty of car parking and I’m here at the supposed peak time and it is not too busy. I have experienced a friendlier welcome at Costa in other branches and the furniture looks rather tired. The shop is lacking atmosphere, but I think that is because it is one of the prefab square buildings thrown up as a potential retail outlet and then a coffee shop out inside. It lacks intimacy or a care for detail in how it is laid out. However, I am sure the chain knows exactly what it is doing and it will be laid out on a cookie cutter model that is known to work. Certainly can’t fault anything much. Nice coffee.”

“I live in the very close vicinity to Costa Larkhall. Just paid one of my (almost) daily visits. The girls here are so friendly, make an excellent cup of coffee and the place is always spotless. I had popped in for a cold drink after meeting my partner for a coffee in a different coffee shop chain in a different town. There was no comparison. In the other place I had to clear the table myself before sitting down and this isn’t unusual for this other chain. That never happens in Costa Larkhall. The tables are always cleared and cleaned. You always see staff clearing, cleaning and mopping. Kay, the manager, is very much hands on and serves customers and keeps the place spotless along with her staff. For me it’s not just buying a lunch or a coffee it’s actually part of my social routine. I always get a good bit of friendly banter with the staff and it’s lovely to see them interacting with the other customers too. They clearly take pride in their work and also enjoy dealing with people. Kay, Claire and Zoe in particular always brighten my day up with a wee chat, a smile and a lovely cup of coffee.”

“We arrived late at night due to a long drive, but this was not a problem with the staff, they accommodated this, on arrival there was a welcome package which was not expected, this was fantastic to receive, and was just what we needed to help relax after the long drive from Sheffield. The apartment was immaculately clean and very spacious. The beds were very comfortable. Everything was in perfect working order. We would be more than happy to stay again and this will be the first place we try to book when returning to Irvine.”

“Wonderful family memories of this place. Went several times as an adult and it reminded me of places my relatives would take me to when I would visit Scotland as a child in the 80s. Loved that my Aunt regularly took her grandkids there. The man I'd see working there was lovely, neighborly person. Hope to visit again soon!”

“This is one of our favourite stores, on par with Johnstone. It is always busy but we've never had a drink order wrong and I did go through a phase of making several customisations but it was correct every time! Service was a bit slower yesterday than usual but I'm always happy to wait for a quality drink. Staff are friendly and tables are cleared fairly quickly. Toilets always nice and clean!”
