“I attended a private event, the atmosphere upstairs was very cosy and the music was really good, the barman was friendly and the drink selection is as expected, with a recommendation on the Camden pale ale and tequila and diet coke.”

“Had a fantastic evening here with friends. The food was spot on, although one criticism was the lack of brie and cranberry in the pie, but the wife loves that stuff. Everyone else loved the food, the staff were great and we enjoyed having a laugh with them. Prices were very reasonable. Would definitely recommend.”

“We've been here a few times now and really enjoy eating here the Steak & Ale pie is absolutely delicious, we met one of the owners today and have to say what a lovely lady she is and you can tell she really cares about this place and making sure everything is how it should be, it seems to me its more the a business to them and that makes the difference to other places I would recommend eating here even if you have to wait for a table then I would have a drink and wait for a table or ring in advance and book one you won't regret it! Can not comment on the rooms but after meeting Mary I'd say that they'd be lovely.”

“There was a welcoming Atmosphere when we arrived. We were welcomed by the staff immediately when doors opened. The pub had a pleasant and warm environment. The food was excellent with generous portions.. We didn’t stay at the accommodation but would have gladly stayed as it is near a number of popular venues. There is a large carpark and free of charge.”

“Food was delicious, chilli con carne had a bit of heat and very filling. Only slight downside was a very rowdy group on a pub crawl, but one of the bar staff apologised and said they would not be staying long. Otherwise, a very cosy pub, great food and atmosphere”

“This superb Beverley hotel has exceeded themselves. I refer to the Nania, witch and the wardrobe Christmas theme they have created at the hotel. The new entrance to the heated and covered outside terrace is a delight. Entering through the huge doors to a Christmas tree forest and on to the seating area where more decorated and lit trees is an experience not to be missed. I loved the small plate terrace menu, the perfect food alternative to “Christmas Fayre” Fabulous food in a fantastic setting. Looked after by staff that were professional and attentive and seemed to enjoy making the visit enjoyable to their guests. All involved in this delight from the directors of Thwaites brewery down to the pot washer should be proud. Because you’ve created something that Beverley can be proud of too.”

“My family and I have been going to Figaro since it opened and even when it was La Scala back in the day. You really cannot fault the staff or food they are fantastic. There are some foods I have never tasted better anywhere else, their steaks, prawns, tomato garlic breads and since last night, their tiramisu. Their pornstar martinis and liquor coffees are also top tier!! Highly recommend, you won’t be disappointed! Booking in again in a few days time for my Birthday, because they’re just too good! :)”

“Wow just wow, from start to finish.. Came here with my mum for a bite to eat, we got more than a bite to eat. I took my food home with me as I had that much on my plate, absolutely amazing. The young lad behind the bar, really friendly, made us feel soo welcome, very polite, smiley, cheerful, the beer garden is lovely and cosy, I highly recommend this place and we will continue coming with our family as our local now.. Wouldn't go anywhere else!!”

“Regarding a sense of inebriated comfort in a quaint market town such as Beverley... The Monks Walk is something of a zenith. From London Thunder to boozed-up chunder, this is a pub whose walls tell every story. The staff were extraordinarily convivial, pursuing a quest to obtain... for me.... a myriad of historical beer mats. What a lovely touch. With a cup cheer, without nerves or fear, all manner of drinkers, and creative thinkers, can find sanctuary, comfort... and home right here”

“Really good food cooked to order, with a good selection of beers on tap, served by friendly, attentive staff. What more do you need? Outside seating area if al fresco floats your boat”

“We turned up just as the kitchen was closing down and being cleaned, however they cooked us a steak pie and chips and 2 haddock and chips. The food was piping hot, good sized portions and tasted blooming lovely. Our dog was allowed to join us at the table in the pub. There was a selection of real ales to pick from. Staff and locals are very friendly. We will be back. Well recommended. The only downside is nearby parking is limited, not that we are complaining.”

“Landlord was really friendly and accommodating. We were a group of 9 people and he sorted it so we could sit together. He was very attentive checking that the music was not too loud for us and even shutting out the Sun with the pub curtains when it became too sunny. Would definitely return to this pub. “Without doubt you’ll get Michelin starred service in here if you can navigate the steps into this cellar bar. Top class selection of cask ales on and so handy for the Railway Station. Check FB for opening times as they do change. Only food on at the moment - cheese & biscuits.”

“Recently stayed with Rob and Dean to attend my sisters funeral. Right from check in they couldn’t have been more kind and helpful . They could not have looked after us any better. Accommodating our vague meal times and appetites owing to the occasion and nothing was too much trouble . The food was lovely and portions very generous. The breakfast was amazing and the best we have had anywhere We were there for 2 nights the room we had was wonderful. The mattress the most comfortable I have ever slept on . It was quiet and exactly what we needed . The services in the room replenished immediately after request generously. I cannot fault the guys or their establishment and look forward to visiting them again happier times .”

“I'm visiting my sister in Willerby and we came here yesterday afternoon for a few bevvies. It's a small local pub, with an excellent range or beers, and a friendly local feel. The small beer garden outback is very pleasant on a sunny day, it was yesterday. Also very reasonable prices for excellent real ales.”
