“Best meal I’ve had in a while with the customisable Toad in the Hole! Atmosphere is stunning and is positioned in a quieter part of lively York. I went with the Welsh dragon sausage (homemade) which took my breath away. Gravy was delicious and paired with red cabbage for freshness. The whole meal was as comforting even in the heat wave as advertised! Would love to come back”

“We hosted our annual trade show pre-dinner at the Biltmore Bar & Grill in York on Tuesday, 14th October, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was vibrant and welcoming, and the staff were attentive and always ready to help. Bar service was quick, efficient, and delivered with a friendly smile. The food was outstanding, a wide variety of delicious options, all of excellent quality. Given the size of our group, we opted for a buffet-style setup, which worked perfectly. The staff ensured the buffet was consistently replenished and that everyone was well looked after. I would highly recommend the Biltmore Bar & Grill for future events. “Wow wow wow the food was amazing. I wasn’t expecting how good it was tbh! The staff were super friendly and attentive. I really recommend the pan fried chicken breast, and the chocolate fondant is one of the best I’ve had in a while!!!! I would come again if i was local.”

“LOVE coming here. Atmosphere is always cosy but vibrant. They constantly do jazz nights and food night. I came today (Monday evening) and it was a bit quieter but it was still a lovely atmosphere. The team are friendly, i just love visiting.”

“An absolute gem of a restaurant! Fantastic location, plenty of seating and a great atmosphere. Food is fab and a great menu to chose from and there is something for everyone! The skewers are so tasty, the tiramisu is to die for and the range and choice of drinks complement each and every dish. Well worth booking so don’t arrive and be disappointed! Staff are super tentative and friendly and made our meal special. Thanks and already looking forward to coming back again soon!”

“Had a lovely meal Saturday evening, the chef accommodated us, even though we were very late(not our fault) only a few minutes before last food order, he produced a delicious curry for me and delicious fish and chips for my husband. So we decided to book for Sunday carvery. Absolutely delicious with an excellent choice of vegetables and trimmings with a good choice of meats, all very hot, very tasty, well presented by a friendly chef”

“Loved it! We did not have a reservation, but luckily there was a table for us (8 pm Friday night). The service was good and they were very quick. The portions were very good and the food was lovely for a great price. We went with the dinner menu which is a very good deal. Would recommend!”

“It was such a delight to dine here. The food was delicious. The smoked half chicken was absolutely juicy despite it being smoked which is usually isn't the case and the reaper was absolutely spicy as hell but the patty was delicious. The scoop doo was immaculate. And Joseph was so attentive and constantly checking in to make sure we didn't die of the spiciness and made sure we were comfortable. Loved being here!”

“April 2025 update - new landlords look like they have a plan ... which sound great. Early days but she is crystal clear and the staff are great. March 2024 update - still pretty darn good. Dec 2023 and new management. 1st visit was a big success. Ales were kept perfectly and all staff very friendly. High hopes going forward. Glad to see it both open and busy.”

“A little cautious at first as there weren’t many people in but we were early and it’s Thursday. We were not disappointed. Thursday offer of £40 for a steak dinner and wine for 2 and it was really good. Great cut of steak, cooked perfectly, amazing sauce, chips to die for (crisp doesn’t cover it) and really good wine. Superb music too. If we lived in York we would be here every Thursday. Shannon our server was friendly and welcoming. HIGHLY recommend”

“Lovely meal at olive tree. Friendly service with a warm welcome into a nicely decorated dining area.Special thanks to rumel and safa.. Busy on a saturday evening. We were a group of 6 peoples.We ordered starters and main both.. For the main, 3 of our party had the Steak and each opted for a different sauce option. I chose peppercorn and would recommend this. Steak was juicy and cooked well to a medium rare. Fries were thin and crispy. For dessert I had the Tiramisu . This was the best tiramisu. I tried. I also had a glass of the Merlot this was nice. The toilets were well decorated and flushed effectively. Everything was spot on.. Surely,Would definitely back again..”

“Good old fashioned proper pub with local support, haven't been for decades and thought it had closed down. Lady behind the bar was nice and friendly, and dog friendly which is a bonus for me as some are quite fussy regarding pets, Beer was excellent, I'm glad I found it again and will be back more often, Superb.”

“A much needed meal after a long day, and Millfield Beefeater delivered. We went for the steak and the hunters chicken from the 8 pound menu, alongside a crispy beef side. Everything was served hot, tasted fresh, and was well prepared. The staff were attentive without being intrusive, and the atmosphere was relaxed and inviting. Very good value and a spot we’ll happily return to.”
