“Absolute, monster size kebab, meat prober thick donner meat and huge chunks of chicken, came well before it said it would, got a free garlic bread, guy on phone was great when I rang to add chips I'd forgot to order for my daughter said just give driver a quid. Definitely order again. Quality size , and price all bang on.”

“Can’t recommend the cafe in this garden centre highly enough. My granddaughter never fails to clean her plate when we bring her here for lunch - the food is always freshly cooked and of the highest quality. The staff are friendly and polite - we visited today and had a toddler and a frail elderly pensioner in a wheel chair- there was no tables free on the lower floor and we thought we were going to have to try and man handle my father out of his wheel chair and onto the mezzanine - Keren came to our rescue and instantly made room for us in a more accessible spot - I can’t thank her enough she was so kind and considerate . She is a credit to her employers and I know this can’t one off as she has offered help on the past when we’ve been struggling. This kind of service is the reason we make the trip regularly from Mexborough - not an easy journey but the service is worth it !!! Love the garden centre too!”

“Haven't had a chinese in a while because not had a nice one in ages. Hubby had heard golden dragon was supposed to be nice so tried it. OMG the food was amazing. The portion sizes were big and tasted fresh and still hot when delivered. Definitely my favourite Chinese now. Will be ordering again.”

“Not many negatives to say about Lucky 7. The prawn toast can sometimes be abit rubbery, almost like it's been reheated, that is the ONLY negative though. The staff are pleasant and helpful. Food delicious. I've tried many and this place is cut above. The food is gorgeous!!”

“The broken bridge is a nice cosy wetherspoons pub with an outside seating area. There is an extensive range of beers lager and cider including six hand pulled cask conditioned real ales some i have not seen before, the ramsgate gadds she sells seashells was particularly good. The ones we sampled were in excellent condition. The staff are very friendly and efficient the service was quick despite the pub being very busy. I will definitely come back next time i am in the area.”

“Absolutely beautiful food and very accommodating they let me order off the other menu with more vegan options . I had a vegan starter and main and they were both amazing and the presentation was like eating at a very expensive restaurant. My partner and kids had non vegan food and the presentation was just as good and their feedback was that the flavour was top notch. I would 100% recommend for anyone looking to eat out locally and would even encourage people to travel to eat here. I will be returning and thank you for a warm atmosphere and again beautiful food.”

“Greeted with a smile by friendly staff who were only too happy to take us to our reserved table. They asked if we had any special requirements, allergies etc. They were so attentive throughout, we were allowed to eat our meals in peace without being disturbed. The only downside to the evening was the fact my husband has sensory issues which we were catered for by way of a quiet area but some adults allowed their children to run around screaming which made us leave early. The staff and manager were in no way to blame for this as it is a family friendly establishment but it would have been nice if the parents of the children showed a little respect for others dining this evening. “Used to be The Highwayman. The new owners have dragged this pub out of the 1980s. It is now a semi-upmarket public house facing the Valley Gardens selling quality beers, woodfired pizza and other bar snacks. Impressed. Not the cheapest place in Pontefract but you get what you pay for.”
